I am so sorry Rose to hear that. It pains me to no end to hear people trash talk anyone who questions our military spending as being anti-American and still supporting politicians on both the Republican and Democrat side that consistently ignores our veterans. Tons of money for the military goes to private contractors while they hide behind the veterans to justify their irresponsible spending. Our enlisted soldiers today under 2 years of service make less than 20k a year. That is UN-American in my opinion. Vic's example is heartbreaking. Your story is heartbreaking. We love you and your husband and I sit her helpless in my abilities to make change. I am trying though. GET MONEY OUT OF POLITICS!!! Sadly, my husband passed away, with so many kinds of diseases🙁. He suffered so much in his last two years. Operation after operation, in and out of hospitals and nursing homes. I live in N.C. You've hit my heart on this one for sure. North Carolina is a over taxed state. Now follow me please. There is s 2% food tax here. A muthafuckin tax on FOOD!!!!!. i did the math. Here's what it says. 10.5 million population x $15 in food per individual per day = roughly say $150million+ per day. Taxes at 2% x 365= roughly 2.8 billion per year. Now get this... if you divide that by 107,000 homeless vets.... it = $26,168.22 per vet...these are low ball estimates at best. One fuckin state could solve the problem. You feel me? Great question. It's because they are all playing favorites and in bed with one another. It's a very true statement when they say it's all about who you know and not what you know. Don't just hone in on the Veterans. What about the poor severely disabled children having to live their life in poverty along with their families that can't even work because they have to sacrifice their job to take care of their disabled family member? Where is their payout assistance? Well it's invincible. That's where it is.

This is true and it's been going on with the veterans. I stayed at a homeless shelter in 2017 and I was surprised to see that they had a area for veterans.. An the first thing that came to my mind is why are they here. The stories that some told me blew my mind they are not being taken care of by the government

They ruined my 21 year career as a Network Manager at a top convention center. They have canceled all shows for the rest of the year, because the people in our government have no clue how to handle a problem. Shut down, was originally for 2 weeks. We are now approaching August, and the people who are paid to resolve these issues do nothing but make more problems for us to deal with. I paid a huge amount in taxes for 25 years and the help I get after a forced shutdown is 4 months.

Veteran here as well with a small business and luckily we did get the EIDL ADVANCE but they declined us for the actual loan...smh we are on the verge of broke and though we Appreciate the advance but the loan would have definitely saved our business no doubt...still like vets do we push forward no matter what and hope that things get better for all Americans. Normally I crack a joke Vic...but this one is near to my heart. I am a veteran. I broke my L4 and L5 vert. in the war in Iraq in 2004. I have been fighting for my benefits since. I held up my part of the bargain for my country...and that is ok. I signed on the dotted line. But I was promised if I got hurt I would be taken care of. So then WHY am I having to fight? For YEARS? The government is not going to take care of us we can only take care of our selves and our communities. My husband is a veteran and we were girls shopping a couple of days ago and he picked up a bag of Fritos Because he loves Frito pies all right. The bag said they donate to help vets so he started reading . Which never comes out well . We donate .1 percent so like a cent on every dollar or some shit . He was so mad . Maybe more pissed off then you . He still fights to see a cent from his shit uncle Sam even though he gave up his first wife and child which now has a grandchild he is not able to see even though he tried to talk to his daughter it didn't matter then mom cheated on him Well he was away in Okinawa training for the third six month training In a row. So now he has lost a grandchild to. Yet they will not pay him for his hearing lose or his broken ankles from PT is bad back from the rucksacks nothing matters. They don't care and they never will. Also screw only helping the vets in time of the pandemic they deserve help all the time .
