Vice Is Closing Down Its Website

Vice Media Group is halting publication on its website and set to cut hundreds of jobs in cost-saving measures. Chief executive Bruce Dixon wrote to Vice staff on Thursday, February 22 to confirm the news as workers, freelancers and former staff quickly try and archive their own work. It is unclear what will happen to the Vice News website, but it is rumoured Vice Media Group will take it down.

Those documentaries were how I got into watching Vice back in the day. Just having the balls to do that when international tensions were simmering was great journalism. Their war coverage was great too!

​@@JournoModelet's see if someone decides to take up the mantle, buy the remains, and start working to rebuild the image into something that's a balance between. Some of that underground culture, combined with maybe some left stuff, and the hard hitting journalism stories that isn't being reported. Get the right guy in charge, and we could see a resurrection that is much needed. I'm doubtful it will ever happen, but, I am hoping that we still get stuff on Munchies.
