Really long road trips would be much less enjoyable if we paid what you do for fuel. I just checked current prices, and once you convert capacity and currency, you are paying an average of $6.96 for a gallon of gas, where our average today is $3.15. I love a good road trip, but I wish we had better public transport so we had a viable option for long distance travel.

Bought my first car, a used 70 Olds Cutlass with over 70k miles on it and drove it the way a 19 year old would if you can imagine. One rebuilt transmission and one timing chain in nearly 500k miles. She still ran good and quiet even though you could see the blue exhaust from space. Finally sold her to a guy in 2012 who was going to restore it with his kids as I had no way of doing that. One relay trick that I do when those old relays go bad is just convert it to the newer style Bosch 5 pin relay. They're very cheap, reliable, and readily available. You can even buy the pigtails at some part stores. Either splice it in and get rid of the old relay all together or get a small pack of 1/4" male flat terminals and you can plug it in without cutting into the factory harness
@majcrash
@majcrash 3 жыл бұрын
They also make a 75 amp 4 pin that might be better here. You try to roll all 4 of those monsters up at the same time, and you might burn out that 40 amp 5 pin.
@c117ls7
@c117ls7 3 жыл бұрын
@@majcrash the 40 should do it but you won't have much room left over. Id say they draw about 7-8 a per window so about 30 then have a spike of 40 when the windows go all the way up. That factory relay was probably only rated for 30a

I had a 1941 Chevy and drove it from KS to St. Louis MO years ago. It made it all the way to the outskirts of town when it started cutting out on me. I had it towed the rest of the way. There was a brand new filter in the line near the carb, but in the back by the tank was the original filter, and it was in there for a long time. I bypassed it with a rubber hose and all was good.

I caught up on this and I have to say what a beauty! I kept thinking, there she was neglected and abandoned in a muddy swampy field to being a show piece everybody wanted to see. These were the cars from my era, my parents owned some tuna boats when I was a child. Theses are the classics in my opinion.

My Dad had a 1970 DeVille, I took it to my Senior Prom in 1971, My girlfriend was impressed, It was traded in on a 1974 Lincoln, Mark 4. But all my memories, are on all the Bonneville's he had, in the 60s. 1960 Pontiac Convert, 1963 Grand Prix, 1965 Bonneville, 1967 Bonneville. all with huge engines, and sharp colors and designs. Maybe when your looking, in the junk Yards, you may find one and bring back some great memories. I love your show, all thumbs up! Mark.

I watched the entire series. It was great. It's October 2023. A couple of thoughts. Your wife is a champ. The support she gives you and the channel is top notch. Second. These videos will be gold for the boys when they are older with their own families. A great way to relive a memory they all will have. Keep up the good work, and you got a sub from me.

I like that the guy has a calm cool about problem solving. Everyone has a "Tonya Harding" in their toolbox and most of us reach for it quick. He's never used that tool. He is an inspiration for staying calm and simply solving a problem. I love it.

This Betty White series was awesome. In 1978 I went to Senior Prom in my dad's 70 Caddy. Pretty much the same car as yours except it had the 500 motor and was a light gold color. Fender skirts were present and a kinda tall fella and a fellette could almost strettttttttccccccchhhhhh out in the back seat for a "nap!" That rig would get up to 90 without even trying. The best riding car I've ever been in, seemed like you were literally floating down the road at 90+ (sorry dad!). Looks like the Hot Rod Power Tour was awesome!

Back in 82’ my friends and I took a road trip in 70’ Caddy to Kings Dominion Park West Virginia. On the the way out we caught a flat in the dark. When we got home to Upstate NY we found the tire iron on the roof, didn’t move.
