This isn't just about the southern borders. A Korean man who was adopted as a baby by an American couple either wasn't told every single thing they were to do or forgot to cross one t. At 41, he was deported back to South Korea, where he knew nobody, culture or language. I think *that is a travesty.* EDIT:@Jelly Bean @Armin Hillman @Pantafle FYI {because you brought up issues, I went to fact check and left critical points out}according to a NYT article, he was adopted with his sister, six years later, their adopted family abandoned them and were separated by new adoption. This little boy ended up being abused, including sexually. As a teen, he was trying to retrieve personal property. Adam C was 16 and served months for robbery.. Juvenile records are expunged unless time is served as an adult. So, he is not the hard criminal you made him to sound. With this info, are you as cold and heartless as the inspector who hunts a man for a stolen piece of bread in the Victor Hugo novel Les Miserables for his entire life? Surely you might think three times before responding. You must be one of the black jelly beans. Getting tossed in the trash before leaving a very bad taste. Tell me you are lemon, lime, pineapple and you are actually kind. {Armin and Pantafle I saw your responses and included you, not that you needed an FYI.}

Not really, if I broke into your house and stayed in your garage but said I'll do all the gardening in your backyard while I live there, does that justify my home invasion? Illegal immigrants are breaking into every US citizens home (The USA), they are invaders and while they are coming in for a better life, they should HAVE to do it legally. If they don't then the US should deport them as soon as they're caught. The US isn't even very strict (comparatively to other countries) on legal immigration, it takes a few months to process them, but millions of legal migrants are allowed in every year despite their economic status. Illegal immigration just inflates the job market with unskilled labor, floods cities with homelessness and poverty and is unregulated so the government can't even control the effects on American citizens. That's why the US needs to be stricter on illegal immigrants while creating opportunities for legal migrants.

As a decorated Army veteran, a child immigration and a naturalized US citizen, hearing that young man refer to this country as his own hit me hard. Harder than him wanting to be a Marine, of all things. Raise your standards, kid. No one wants to be a Marine!! People don’t plan to be Marines. They just end up being Marines. That being said & jokes aside, I doubt I would be any of other those 3 things today had my mother and her mother been met with the same hatred this president shows to immigrants, in general, legal or otherwise. Hell, he doesn’t even recognize the proud military veteran of Guam or Puerto Rico as actual veterans. Meanwhile, he served his country by faking a twisted ankle and a nose bleed. Nice.

@peachymeechie18445 жыл бұрын
The immigration does clearly state now that by just entering without proper documents is a crime that can be punishable by up to 6 mos. in jail, just for crossing the border. I don't care what anyone says. I know that if Donald Trump could walk in these people's shoes his view on immigration would be so different. Nobody got a choice in where they were to be born, or to what ethnic background they were to be born. If people could know that, and see that it was just the luck of the draw if you were born here. Also we're all immigrants unless you're Native American, then you had to come from somewheres else, only difference is that they came in a different era. So what's the difference? The majority come for the American dream or to escape violence or extreme poverty. N there are good and bad people of all kinds...white, black, brown, yellow, purple, or orange it makes no difference. We need to remember that we all bleed the same red blood, and that the same God that made you made them to. So we really need to open our eyes and figure out a way to fix the problem not make it worse.

I'm hearing a lot of people say things like "if you don't want to be separated, don't come here illegally". However, people are not taking into account that the laws and enforcement policies 20-30 years ago were not making national headlines like the ones under the current administration. It is also obvious that the United States has more opportunities than a majority of the countries in the world and many illegal immigrant parents take the risk of deportation/separation to provide better opportunities for their children later in life. In addition, the legal immigration process in the United States is very complex and it is very difficult to randomly become a US citizen if you are from say El Salvador or Guatemala with no family, work, education, or other specific reason to come to the US. Hence, illegal immigration is the only option. Not to mention that immigrants are proven to BOOST the US economy so if you are targeting people who are simply here illegally you are separating families (which will have phycological effects on children), disrupting the economy, and wasting resources that could be better used in arresting criminals or fighting the war on drugs. Ok rant done

At 25:37 of the video immediately caught my attention when that deported young boy said he wants to be a Marine. That is the best decision a deportee can make and if he sticks with it and follows through on it, serving honorably in the US military can really open doors for him including receiving expedited US citizenship. I hope that young deportee is thinking about this and follows through on it starting on his 18th birthday.

The 14th amendment constitution requires the government to grant U.S. citizenship to *anyone* born in America, as long as the parents are subject to U.S. laws: so POWs and diplomat’s children aren’t born American This amendment was created to ensure that the government couldn’t revoke ex-slaves’s citizenship. Or, ban their children from being citizens: creating a parallel society that resembles apartheid It also ensured legal immigrants’ children were born America, making integration much easier for them. That illegal immigrant’s children are born American is frankly a small price to pay for the befits of the policy Bottom line is, birthright slavers transformed the U.S. into a modern country post-slavery. There is no political will to change such a fundamental part of the constitution. End of story

Most of the ilegal residents come to the States because basically the law is for everyone in the U.S. Most likely not the case in the countries they come from and then they are so surprised and mad when they are finally caught. Hell if you are in a place for ten years you could at least try to legalize your status. Also why live in a place where as a ilegal allien you wont have social security or health benefits not even in your old age 12,000,000 persons don't you think this will be one hell of a problem. You can't fix a bad by later trying to do a good it simply doesn't work that way. I also wonder how many undocumented people go missing every year that's a hard one to figure out. Interesting video .
