When you're 7'4 and that thin, it comes with a lot of hairline fractures and foot injuries. We've seen it in history with all the 7'0+ players. Bone density for a male doesn't stop until 28-29 years old. I'm not doctor, but with him being that thin, his bone density isn't even close to maturing and it could lead to fractures and foot injuries. Also, muscle needs maturity too. It's why most successful body builders are older in their mid to late 30s, muscle takes time to mature, and bones take time to grow more dense and stronger. It's why old ass dudes always have giant hands. But as bones age and get thicker, they also take longer to heal. At 50, bones will lose it's density and start to get weaker.

I know people will say it's glazing and all that dumb shit, but I'm 32 and have been watching ball since 96-97, this is probably the most impressive rookie I've ever seen. I'd listen to some arguments about bron, melo or blake, but to me this dude is just living up to and even exceeding the hype. Truly a wonderful time to be a fan of basketball.
@AlphaDwg4 ай бұрын
best rookie i've seen since Bron. Especially when you consider the age. He came in the league at 19. Bron came in the league at 18. I'd give the slight edge to Bron only because he was younger and he literally came in right out of high school not after being a professional groomed to be a pro since 14. When you think about it it's actually insane how good Lebron was just off natural talent. But the fact Victor is close to him as a rookie is impressive as hell. Also can't forget about what Luka did as a rookie too at a young age. I'd say the best teenagers to enter the NBA are Bron>Wemby>Luka.

Chet yes he took a middle of the road thunder team I believe they were 10th seed last season to the top of the west. Wembys team has 3 more wins than the pistons and 33 games below .500 before the allstar break. That’s historically bad especially for a franchise like the spurs. For him to of surpassed expectations he would’ve not only put up these numbers that we expected of him being the number 1 option but I figured they would be at least a fringe playoff team around the play in area. Pop did say that he got to teach first before he can coach, and the Spurs is the youngest team in the whole league. It shows how inexperienced they are in their games. They also have a bunch of G-leaguers in their roster and no vets. They’re using Wemby’s rookie season for a lot of things, but mainly to develop Wemby and get him acclimated to the league, and get him familiarized with his teammates and vice-versa. He’s an unconventional big so there will be adjustments to how they play with him. They’re also figuring out which players are needed to stay in the roster to play with Wemby and what kind of players they need from the drafts. The Spurs own all their draft picks for the next 7 years and they got a bunch of extra draft picks from the trades they did to tank for Wemby. I’d give them 3 years to build their roster before they can truly contend. Look at OKC. That’s a great example of a rebuild. They did not rush their rebuild and once they got their franchise player (SGA), they started their rebuild around him and it’s paying off now. I do think they’re not finished with their rebuild yet but they look good. And that’s because they did not rush their rebuild. I believe that’s the route the Spurs is also going. Wemby is the start of the rebuild, but he’s not the end. I’m excited to see their team when it’s finally ready to contend tho.
