I got a hamster yesterday and I’m able to give her a good enclosure because of you. My first hamster, Louie, passed away several months ago. When I first got him, I bought him from a pet store with a tiny crittertrail. But after watching your videos and learning more, I upgraded his cage to a large terrarium with deep bedding and enrichment! I love him and was very sad when he passed, at around two years old. But after a while I was ready for a new friend. So yesterday I brought home my new baby hamster, Rosie, and my big sister decided she would want one too! The hamsters we got were from an accidental litter, and we’re getting sister hamsters! So now thanks to you, I can introduce her to the world of hamsters, and teach her proper hamster care too! She lives in a different town and I’m so glad that we’ll be able to bond over our hamsters! Also I just really wanted to say thank you for not cursing in your videos. I’m young so I know that if you did, my parents probably wouldn’t want me watching your channel. I’m so glad that I’m able to watch you without having to worry you’ll curse all the time. Ok I own ferrets for years and years! A great pet if you do a lot of research but…. They are susceptible to cancers. Also get two or more at a time. Usually 5-6 years of age is the time of sickness getting cancers. But I’m excited if you do get them they are so fun to watch. Keep them away from all other animals slowly watch and introduce to your cats they get along with them if you start the ferret off really young. :)

I totally agree with what you said especially about dogs. I own a 4lb chihuahua and she's highly trained and socialized and there is no excuse for people to no train there dogs. Mine also loves to learn new tricks she's highly intelligent. But on walks when we see a large dog i pick her up, even though she is trained and i get looks from the owners. and its simply for my dogs safety as she could get fataly injured. Even just last week when i took her on a walk i ended up being chased by two off leash dogs and they where activity trying to jump up and grab a hold of my dog. and the owner slowly walked up to us not doing anything to call off her dogs or deescalating the situation. I do not blame the dogs, i blame lack of training and socialization
@VictoriaRaechel6 ай бұрын
I'm glad you put in the work to train her well! I see a lot of people not train their small dogs because they think their harmless due to their size and then they end up with a very angry small dog but think it's funny :(
@alexh61215 ай бұрын
@@VictoriaRaechelI highly agree. Also small dogs get very nervous around others very easily which can be expressed in aggression. And in my experience and my grandma who's owned 10 chihuahuas in her life time... having them trained also boosts there confidence which makes a dog very happy. Our dog when we first got her at 17 weeks she was too scared to even go a block away from home and would refuse to walk. But almost a year later she loves walks and meeting other dogs and people! It takes time with small breeds but it's worth it

That part about ferrets was very surprising to me :) glad to hear that you are interested in owning one. Actually ferrets and prey animals can get quite easily along, as long as you set your system cleverly. I do have a conure parrot, few hamsters, zebra mice and african pygmy dormice and a ferret - a young part polecat hybrid to be exact - so she would of course easily take "care" of anybody from the group of prey guys. Ferret and rodents/bird are always in separate rooms and I also give them my time one by one every day. I never had any issues with them all being in some kind of stress response, rodents greet me with a joy (except dormice, they are my oldest and were always very shy and strictly nocturnal), greencheek conure boy is a sweet guy, ready to fall asleep on his back in the same spot on my shirt, where there was a ferret moment ago. It is not so peaceful like having bunch of animals in which one group is not trying to murder the other, but it can be done pretty smoothly :D They have no idea that their dinner/devil is living behind the door and actually we all have a great time

Being an animal lover ive definitely fallen into the impulse buying in the past so i respect that you like to do your research. Hamsters were a pet i kept as a child and i went a good 15yrs without having one hense why I did my research before getting one again. Im more of a rabbit person and want 2 french lop rabbits in the future but want the right space for them before i get them. I had 2 ferrets with my ex, i loved them they are fun and very active. My ex took them when we split but i still get updates on them. I got my hamster when i was renting a room and couldnt really have a large active animal. Id love some silkie chickens one day. Dogs need time, they are dependent animals so to be told you dont like dogs, I can see thats not true as so many dogs sit in rescues and shelters right now because people impulse buy and cant give them the time they need, my personal work schedule would make it unfair on a dog so because you care alot about animals i can see you think about the care, time etc. You can give to a pet before buying. Much respect to your honestly and your love and care for animals.

I was going to say, in re neurodivergence (@9:32), your vibe is your tribe and gangsta recognize gangsta. I'm a MH social worker and ADHD/ASD, and I would definitely test you for both right off, principally based on apparent monotropism ("special interests"). But you're right, males are diagnosed way more frequently, presently something like 4:1 for ASD, when I would bet my bottom dollar it should be 1:1 for either ASD or ADHD. Instruments made to screen or diagnose are designed with a male bias, so I wouldn't rule it out based on self-administered tests. It's a huge, huge problem, underdiagnosis in women, because women 1. are not succeeding like they think they should, and blaming themselves for it, and 2. not getting the supports they need to succeed at a level commensurate to their merits and abilities.

I think it’d be awesome to see you have ferrets in the future if you go down that route!!!

Have you ever considered having a chinchilla? Months after my hammy passed away, I searched for an animal that would live longer, not a rabit because I already had one when I was a child and wanted to have other experiences with other pet... so I have a chinchilla now and he is my world, so sociable, cute, loving and he'll live up to 20 years, not being prone to having any desease. I highly recomend, because of their strong health. And I'm from Brazil, so I'm sorry if I worte something wrong

I have but they require such particular care and I'm not really interested in the 20 year lifespan 😅 They're super cute though!

I love my hamster, giving her a Sunday meal involving tiny portions of veggies, fruit, and a tiny serving of a boiled egg. She loves her daily treat if Gerber puffs. All thanks to your videos. 😁🐭

If you are really interested in finding out if you are neurodivergent, I suggest finding a psychologist who specializes in adult neurodivergence for a neuropsychological assessment. That’s how I got diagnosed. Most physicians or therapists are not trained enough to diagnose adult, especially women ADHD/ASD as it is still a rapidly developing field. Good luck! Love your videos

Hi i have a question about hamsters! One time, when i went to my local pet store to buy my hamster food, the worker there told me that hamsters also need calcium and offered me a calcium rock. I didn't butly it, but ever since that day, I've been wondering if hamsters need calcium, and if so, how do i give it to them?

Please stop focusing on what other people think of you. I get that you're speaking to your younger audience and that's grat! But please don't be bullied into making content that you don't want to. I however have acquired pets that I didn't intend on bringing home or was ready for, but its because they we're being mistreated and I KNEW I could give them a better home, and im glad I did! Impulse sometimes isn't such a bad thing if you know what your doing and have the space and knowledge to do. Take care Victoria, you really have helped me out a lot with my Hammy's ! And I'm sure you've inspired tons of people to giving their small jury's their best life! And YES, if you have the room, get a couple of ferrets, but only if you have the room! You cannot let them near your your rabbits or hamsters, they will kill them for fun! ❤❤❤❤good luck ! X

My brother had a ferret and she killed my other brothers parrot. It was a sad accident but you really gotta be careful with ferrets around small animals. So people make sure you do your research. love the video ❤😊
