I don’t understand why they wanna place the blame on a principal and the staff when it’s the registered sex offender if you’re gonna place blame blame the person that let him out of jail and registered him. Stop letting them out of jail. Keep them locked up. They’re never going to change. This could happen anywhere you’re gonna fire everybody that’s a sad outcome. How can it be the principal fault? How can it be the staffs fault? It’s the offenders fault put blame where it deserves to be put.

They're not blaming staff for the guys actions, rather they're angry over the lack of training from the staff taking care of the students. Elementary students at that. The guy was able to enter the fence. Sure but how did no adult immediately notice? Where was the staff the moment that happened? They had no immediate protocol put into place. Students had to run and get them? It's rather about security and lack of immediate response people are angry about with the school. If supervision was being conducted the adults wouldn't be in a corner off camera and rather close to the students where they can respond immediately to a threat.

I was going to comment the same thing about the fence. The school I work at has a 6 foot chain link fence. All the doors are locked. You have to go in through the front office. Someone has to buzz you in.

You have to be buzzed in the front door, then buzzed into the front office, THEN buzzed through a third set of doors just to get into the main part of the school. You’d have an easier time breaking into a prison. I thought most schools had those types of security features these days.

Where are the fences? I see that small fence, but how did a person walk on the school grounds so blatantly...where are the adults watching our children? As a britsh person, it's always beyond me to see how low and flimsy the fences are at these American public schools. Here you won't catch a school without 15-20ft high thick metal fences with brush plants or any kind or covering so that no one outside can see into the playground. That school's fenced looked like one you'd have on your front lawn, not one to protect the children at a school. You done need a watch dog team, you need better fencing

I mean this is An unfortunate incident that couldve turned out way worse than it did! Luckily it didnt though. But i dont feel like its right to sue the principal or the faculty! Even if say the teacher or principal had noticed that the playground could easily be accessed! Its the countys responsibility and its the parent's responsibility! You cant just assume that whatever institution you leave your child at is 100% secure, or that its the faculties responsibility to pay for or maintain the fence. We already pay teachers A pitiful salary as it is! To the point that they provide alot of school supplies that they pay for out of they're own pockets! Who they should really be suing is the parole board for letting A known sex offender out, and the Probation department tasked with keeping an eye on sickoes like that, making sure they dont live by our schools! Sex offenders should have to wear ankle monitors, and have to be housed in special halfway houses for two years after release to complete somekind of rehabilitation therapy while they are intigrated back into society! Strictly for first time offenders only! Habitual offenders should never be released unless castrated first! But they still have to complete the two year program and therapy with ankle monitors first! Furthermore we need to start looking at our representatives to make sure that our probation departments are adequately staffed, and that we dont overload their caseloads stretching they're time and focus over too many people at once for them to adequately do their jobs! Having a probation officer with 50+ people to look after and be accountable for is ridiculous! And its not even theyre faults cause they got bosses they answer to too! Is A teacher with a classroom of 50 students gonna be as affective as A teacher with 25-30 students? Nope!! In Americas attempts at making e everything more efficient from food production to education! The exact opposite was what was ultimately achieved! The quality of everything has gone down. Including the productivity of our people and the quality of theyre work!

The same goes for the visitor. School is not a safe place at all.. We did tell the principal that they never checked ID. My friend went to check my son out. He came out, which my son knew my friend. Finally, they started to check ID, but it won't last long.

Firing the principal? That is not going to help anything. The problem is human behavior naturally becomes lax when you do the same things day after day. The supervising adults needed to be visible and accessible. It is their faults. The play area needs to be more inaccessible to outsiders- should have a big fenced in section for recess. Not some short white picket fence that seems to mark the property.

Back when my daughter now 15 was in elementary school when she was 12 yrs old I noticed how the school allowed the P.E. class to.have class in a public park next to.the school where anyone can come a grab one of them the teacher was so far away that is impossible to stop it. There was alot of homeless people in.the park. I called the school to complain a couple of times.

Smart/brave kids to take off running. We grew up loving recesss without the fear of harm and the schools didn't have a closed fence around it and probably like one teacher watching us.
