Tyr might as will be considered a therapist for gods ha ha seriously he would be Great at it considering he knows kratos quite well being the god of war himself and all I swear to the God of war in Norse mythology does a great job and as for mimer being the conscience on kratosis shoulder is also a plus.

@@nomado.3855 I'd argue that the length shouldn't be taken into account because of how tall the wielder is. Tyr is easily 7-8 feet tall, and any weapon made for the average human is gonna look small in his hands. As for everything else, I genuinely didn't know about, and now that you bring it up, the tip does have a smoother curve more like a saber. I learned something today.

“Because I can.” The weight behind those words for Kratos. Being manipulated by every god he ever came across, constantly being backstabbed and threatened over and over again. It's a very unique perspective for a character of his position in the pantheon. Tyr may be a God of War, but he doesn't embody ruthlessness, or bloodlust, or sadism. To him, the art of combat is merely a way of understanding and connecting with the world, and in using the wisdom and teachings of those connections, he can better himself as both a warrior and a person.

One of my favorite things about Tyr is how he goes about helping his friends. With Freya he applauds her for taking up the fight against Odin because he knows she needs to know that she did the right thing by coming back and by fighting against Odin. With Mirmir he reassures him that he did the right thing in freeing the Lyngbakr and that the creature is grateful to him for freeing him. With Kratos he helps him reevaluate his actions by reminding him of the context of the situations (like pointing out that the deal made with Ares was because it was the only way to save his people and couldn't have known of the fallout of that choice), showing that for all his mistakes he has changed since then and his fight with him are because he knows that Kratos needs combat to help with give him clarity. It shows that he has a firm grasp of people and can help them to be their best selves and for no other reason then because it is within his power to do so. I personally would love to see him help Sindri come to terms with the death of his brother (though this one would be hard seeing his is in the form that Odin used to take Brok's life) as the poor guy needs help.

So many little details. Tyr's over all conversations with both Kratos and Mimir are so genuine and He speaks from wisdom, acting in a way as a therapist for both the Greek god of war and the new Norse god of war, as well as the smartest man alive. The way his eyes dim when he yeilds is also such a small touch. I feel like the 'Show me' from Kratos in the first fight isn't about being ready, i think he recognized the style of sheild and spear Tyr has favored and wants to see just what his counterpart can do with them.

I think that if Tyr were to be given a knew title, a new position, I think that it would be as the god of wisdom. He's certainly much wiser than Oden ever was. Tyr learned from those around him, shared his knowledge, and sought to improve himself and help others, while Oden only sought to gain and keep knowledge for himself, never learning from his mistakes or seeking to help others out of the goodness in his heart. Tyr was supposed to be a neutral party for war in general as it was his job. Clearly he knew he had more responsibility to his title than odin figured otherwise he'd try tyrs method of gaining knowledge and power. Tyr also knew that by seeing beyond the Nine realms point of view would he help his realms better. All that respect can be dangerous to any on the other side. All of the realms united in tyrs name to unite the realms in that act. Sometimes one person and a new idea goes deeper than a spear wound.

Tyr is similar to Odin in a sense. Both of them craved knowledge. Odin attacks you with almost all the types of magics existing in the game, and Tyr attsaks with the knowledge and instruments gained in distant lands. I can picture Tyr being similar to Odin in actitude at the beginning. "Whats wrong about gaining more and more knowledge? You could serve better, be the master of your destiny instead of a tool". Sounds like pretty good motivations. Its what motivated Odin, and we know how well it did. Because Odin had no self-reflection. He didnt have personal values whose satisfaction was enough to bring him a feeling of worth. He believed he was to be either an omniscient good or nothing. Tyr is more about self-reflection and understanding, of one self and others, not just gaining data about them to use.

IIRC Mimir said that Týr helped the giants, in part, because he felt responsible for what Odin did to them. Týr was the only Aesir god the giants fully confided in, and he also believed Thor and Odin's word that they wouldn't hurt the giants, believing that they could see things his way: that peace was the better option for all involved, if not for empathy at least pragmatically. Of course, Odin betrayed them and hunted them down to near extinction the moment he didn't get exactly what he wanted. Týr felt partially guilty, so he helped Faye lock Jotunheim out of Odin's reach.

Tyr wanting to prepare kratos to take his place as the god of war makes sence in both the game & in actual norse beliefs. Tyr pointing out that kratos is more known & respected than Tyr is true in norse paganism/Asatru because while Tyr is 1 of the most respected and revered norse gods, he's also 1 of the least known due to not much info & myths about him are known these days, yet this also makes him 1of the most unique & mysterious of the gods.

The only problem with Tyr's story is how they THREW AWAY TYR's TEMPLE! Literally was an ICONIC invention that made realm travel for all possible. The craftsmanship, uniqueness, and skill that took over undoubtedly CENTURIES of work! Was one of the coolest things about the 2018 GOW. Then in Ragnorak you use the world tree, which is understandable since Odin locked out the Temple / The Long Winter before Ragnorak made the Temple's inaccessable. Still, the way Tyr was built up as a Rival to Odin, just not as malicious, was criminal. How was Tyr captured and imprisoned in the 1st place? Tyr's intellect should rival Odins, no?
@Snorefae
@Snorefae Жыл бұрын
I believe in the first game there’s a mural on a wall under the temple showing both Thor and Odin putting Tyr in chains, I think that’s meant to show that it took both Odin and Thor fighting Tyr to subdue him even then I doubt he went down easy.

This version of Tyr is great. I like how he’s an inquisitive and kind man while also being firm and wise. He’s peaceful, but he’s also a warrior. And it’s funny how he boasts of the weapons from his travels while casually glossing over the space magic he’s using to select them. He’s a badass

Stark personality difference between real tyr and "fake" tyr.... Fake tyr being a wuss, contradicting himself, and extremely opposed to any kind of fighting..... sounding real shady and maaddd questionable.. Real tyr has such a different vibe to em... Such an open book yet we only know so much about em via stories from murals...and is open to fighting(really sparring) kratos again, again, and again....using variety of his tools from his travels too..showing that, like kratos, he also collected weapons, and magic as well..... THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND....TYR LIKELY HAS MAGIC THAT HE ISNT EVEN USING!!!!!

It all makes sense now. I mean ,first I heard about the next game set in egypt ,I wasn't sure about it ,Since Kratos had no significant connections to egyptian gods ,maybe the only fact I heard tbat kratos met faye in egypt for the 1st time ,which still could be a false rumor. But seeing tyr's weapons here ,and the chat about him traveling the world to learn by mimir & atreus in 2018's game brings it up. So I'm guessing ,yeah Kratos might go to egypt (tyr's oval shaped blades ,seen them in ac origins) ,next maybe japan /china (tyr's long a bit katana-like-blade) ,maybe even mayan (tyr's greatsword maybe mayan or norse like the traveller's ,or the spear and shield could be mayan ,or it's simply just greek /spartan)

This DLC adds a certain symmetry to Kratos' journey. In the original game, long ago, the Ghost of Sparta defeated the God of War and took up his Throne; unhappily I might add and plagued by nightmares. Here, at the end of his story, Kratos defeats the Norse God of War and takes up a new Throne, having forgiven himself, as the God of Hope. Well done, Kratos. You've earned it.
