1:54 chín (cooked, 9), not chính (main, right). They are pronounced distinctly by northerners, but both are pronounced as /chính/ by southerners.

Chào thầy. em muốn biết trong trường hợp nào sử dụng 'chứ bộ'?

It's true, even though it's not obvious. It really is, despite your disbelief. It's so, even though you might not think that. Basically it's used when the listener might not be in agreement. Chị tôi hát cũng được chứ bộ. My sister also sings okay (even though you might not think so). Thằng ấy cũng biết hát chứ bộ. That guy also knows how to sing (it might not be obvious to you).

2:00 I noticed that the V-nese subtitles included the English word "size" (e.g. before lớn, vừa, etc.), and it sounded like you were both saying "size"--is there no VN word for "size"? ...I've also noticed (over my life) that when talking to a woman about her appearance, or that of something she's wearing, it's probably not a good idea to use words like "xấu" or "mập". ;)

Vietnamese sometimes borrow English words, you can use “cỡ” for “size”.

There's really no reason to use size when speaking Vietnamese.

It's rude to use those terms (ugly, fat), especially when describing a woman, in any language.

@@lukephungNot really. In my family with relatives who are Vietnamese, it's actually OK. In some Chinese family, it's OK too.
