This is caused by the change in ions moving through the muscle cells. The fish normally lives in salt water. When the ionic balance of sodium and magnesium changes (e.g through killing and washing in tap water), the muscles twitch. It is the same even for red meat but meats are not washed and they have a different ionic balance. I was very surprised to see this as well, but learned the reason why it occurs from seeing it in other species.

I hate to break it to you but the shark didn’t think anything. It’s a wild animal. It just reacts and that’s it. It doesn’t have the brain to conceive of existence, death, or self. It just eats, fucks, then dies more of the same. And before you feel too sad about this thing just remember that this creature would eat a baby without a seconds hesitation and he’d do it while the baby was still alive. At least we have the decency to kill it before we eat it. Reality isn’t a Disney movie my friend. This creature wasn’t in the ocean singing “Under the sea” with the fish. He was hunting and killing things up to and including other sharks.
@joeybarela3636 ай бұрын
@@canderoussnurd4265"it's a wild animal" is also a huge generalization, because if you said the same thing to describe dolphins, you'd be highly discrediting their intelligence, considering the fact that dolphins are one of the few animals that display self-awareness at a level near humans.
@joeybarela3636 ай бұрын
@@canderoussnurd4265Sharks definitely have a brain large enough to conceptualize death, and definitely have a nervous system capable of feeling pain. Your ignorance isn't the trump card you think it is. I'm not saying we shouldn't eat them, but you're inherently uneducated. The moral argument "they would eat you without hesitation" is irrelevant also, considering the fact that we are much more intelligent than sharks. We have the capability to feel empathy.

Shark is absolutely delicious. If you never have, you owe it to yourself to try it. It's great as steak or cut into little cubes and deep fried. Yum!

Yo no puedo ver esto la verdad, me parece súper triste el matar otro animal por nuestro paladar ..... con los que me gusta ver a los peces y animales del mar mientras buceo.

Mankind is the most terrible because of abortion which is murder. Killing an animal with no soul isn't the most terrible. We have animals to feed ourselves.
