One of the MP’s that was in my reserve unit his first duty station was as an MP in the Canal Zone. He said he knew stuff was about to pop off because previous *IF* they had received ammo for their weapons it was only a handful of rounds. But all of a sudden everyone was issued max load outs and nobody signed for anything. Said that they were routinely doing dismounted patrols in the Jungle around the canal itself and because of the close distance they usually carried shotguns, now everyone had full magazine tubes plus spare ammunition, in addition to their sidearms, and their 60 gunners brought them as well.

This is about a “grunt” who doesn’t blame anyone for his short comings but takes on adversity while being humble about his background. This gentleman has my respect as what a man should be and children should look up to. Consistently refers to himself as a grunt, gets the job done, and still doesn’t boast about his career. Well done!!

Shawn, thanks for bringing Bob Porras to your audience. Based on Ninja's description of the civilian training, his approach, and your comments with him near Part 2's closing, I contacted Bob to inquire about training with him. Last weekend, my wife & I completed his "Situational Awareness, Mindset, & Emergency Preparedness" course. It was outstanding! We learned so many things that will help us in daily life and how to be prepared, without having to break the bank or going overboard, in case of man-made or natural emergencies. Concluding the "SA" portion of the course, Ninja unveiled some mind blowing findings. It was all fun and so appreciated Ninja's full personal engagement and humble approach. Rare for someone as accomplished as Bob is. Keep the great content coming.

I’m the last viewer you would ever expect to comment on long form story’s from veterans. hearing their childhood and their growth in the teams. It’s brought me a lot of clarity that you can do amazing things for the world no matter the steps it takes. Every episode i find a new person to listen to their story and be privileged to hear the good and bad. Shawn you reach people you probably never expected and changed my mindset tremendously of what change i can make in the world. ~17 year old girl in highschool~ never stop sharing those stories

Take a look at Terrence Popp and his show. He jumped into panama with the rangers and was wounded. Then he joined USSF. Then he was with Company F 425 of the michigan national guard where he was teamleader and platoon sergeant. With them he deployed to iraq where he became NCOIC of abu ghraib and then 1st sgt of his company and was wounded again (TBI). After that he stayed in the US military and did more than 30 years. Now he has a show on yt and other plattforms and saves people lives. His earlyer videos are about his time in the army and includes hard and funny side of it. His current count over 500 lives saved. The count is of people who came forward and said that he prevented them to go for a permanent solution for a temporaty problem. He talks about important stuff. Be aware he has no filter though.

It absolutely opened my eyes to a lot of things in life that we can't control, and then to use that experience "good or bad" in order to make our lives better and control the things we can. This is hands down one of the best interviews I've ever watched! And I'm a 63-year-old history buff. This was absolutely amazing. It's just absolutely wonderful that this patriotic man would share a lifetime of experience with folks he does not even know. It takes courage beyond anything I have to do something like this. I’ve watched a number of SRS interviews and Ninja projects a level of humility that in my opinion is rarely seen. His nonchalant recollection of all he has done cracks me up and hearing SR belly laugh at his experiences takes it off the charts. What an amazing journey he had to get into the community and I can’t wait to see part II. I’ve spent over 36 years, and still serving, in a U.S. Army uniform and this is the kinda guy you want to share a nice bourbon with around the fire pit and just listen to him talk! The level of gratitude and respect I have for all of these warriors is immeasurable and my thoughts and prayers go out to them all!

Have you rewatched any of the interview since the first watch? I rewound a couple scenes and now I'm not sure if I trust the guy or his stories. Great content as always, the Delta recruiting briefing brings backs some found memories. As a young SGT in 1983, they showed up at Fort Hood and in one of the post theaters gave their pitch. if memory serves me right everyone that was in a Combat arms unit in the 1st cav went to one of them. being in 1/7 Cav at the time and telling us about all the WALKING we would be doing, well none of us took the bait! But it was a diffent army back then, there was none of the High-Speed cool stuff of today, more like a map and a compass! but brings back some good memories

1 MILLION!!! Thats BIG thats AWESOME! I'm touched and proud that so many people care. I'm a veteran but not of the same caliber as these men and hearing their stories fills in so much of what was going on. THANK YOU SHAWN RYAN AND STAFF! The Shawn Ryan Show ROCKS! This is a very informative and humbling interview and look forward to seeing the 2nd part.

I really enjoy your shows and watch them often. Mr. Bob "Ninja" Poras was delightful and full of wonderful knowledge. I never leave comments but this show is amazing. I truly appreciate Mr. Poras information on common sense and how it's often overlooked. Mr. Ryan; you ask amazing questions, allow the guest to really speak and you always appear that you honestly enjoy the guest. Your show is always full of amazing life stories, your involved with fantastic interest really listening to your guest. I find that absolutely wonderful. Thank you for doing this and allowing us to share in this wonderful experience.

So let me get this right… I’ll use the year 1981 since Bob offered it. Let’s see. That is 42 years give or take. Can someone please explain how NO ONE, in 42 years, pulled this guy to the side and briefed him up on being a badass human being. I know bubbas with a fraction of his experience who fully believe they walk on water. I think the mold was broken on Bob. Somehow he just stayed nice, cool, & grounded. RARE in the warrior world. I’m going to have to take one of his courses just to shake his hand. Excellent as always Shawn🇺🇸⚔️👊🏻

Not just a great show because of the amazing content but possibly one of the most important shows there is. The real information you get from these guests is priceless, and the amount of self motivation as well as the mental health education is something thatbinwish more people would talk about. Keep up the amazing work Shawn, you truly are a great man and American. Thank you

So humble. So refreshing. No complaints. Such an authentic hard working American spirit. Such an honest and honorable well earned character. And on top of all of that....I laughed until I cried over and over. I loved this man's testimony. Thank you Shaun for the gift.

It's hard watching other podcasts because you have set the bar so high and are genuine with your content. I know you said in the interview you did with your wife that you don't care how many views you get but it's sad when the operator ones get the most views, not saying they don't matter because they do, but so do the other ones on every day issues. More people should watch those. Excited to see what 2023 has in store.

I, a civilian, have gotten hooked on watching Shawns shows. I LOVE to hear the stories of our military men. Told with a mixture of terror and humor. Can't get better "entertainment/education" than this.

Bob's bit about the college course & text book, about the existence of the unit, and his reaction was both hilarious and reminiscent. I can't even remember who I was listening to, or talking to, but the same thing has happened to me. I was part of an operation that was "in the news" back in the 1980's, and is now in the history books. Someone was speaking authoritatively and inaccurately about that history that I lived, a "history" in which I was actually there. At first, you get a "deja vu", spacey feeling. Then, when you realize how wrong they are, you have to laugh, inside or out. Anyhow, working with Bob must have kept the operators on his teams in stitches. He's a riot.

@@xghostx3159in one way they should for what they do. On the other hand. If you pay them more than you would see guys do it for the money, instead of the service. The low money makes sure that the only guys there are there because they believe in the service and was to serve

Outstanding show! I love the information that Mr. Poras conveyed. He addressed the gamut: home invasion, fire, tornado, hurricane, whatever the emergency happens to be, it comes down to getting out of your home safely. That is a trainer that can cover it all. I just retired from my business that did similar training but included insider threat for businesses. It's astounding that people think it could never happen to them.
