The Chess World Cup 2023 is a 206-player single-elimination chess tournament that will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 30 July to 24 August 2023.[1] It will be the 10th edition of the Chess World Cup. The top three finishers in the tournament will qualify for the 2024 Candidates Tournament.[2][3]
The tournament will be held in parallel with the Women's Chess World Cup 2023.

We shouldn't discredit keymer's win because magnus made a simple blunder. Keymer didn't give magnus any chance of winning and that made magnus frustrated leading into his blunder.

He was excellent in time management. Kudos to him to think about every possible line post that blunder to not let Magnus back into it. He spent majority of the time when it was absolutely necessary and he exactly knew when it was necessary. Fantastic!

Most of these competitors were top 50 seeds who went straight into Round 2. Now that we're down to the last 32 it should be exciting to see the match-ups from here on out. While watching this game, it felt like magnus did the minimum amount of preparation. They basically just looked at a game where they were weak and exploited that. It's important to revise your lost games as well. You have to overcome whatever lead to your loss.
