As far as I know, the vodka only helps to mantain a creamy texture and to blend the tomato paste with the paste! So you could use any alcohol for this, but it's better to use a little, so that you won't taste it

Yes...i have a 90yo neighbor who lost his wife a few months ago... hes all alone & his "questionable with life choices" 17yo great grand-daughter is supposed to live with him & take care of him, instead she leaves for several days with his only mode of transportation do be doing god knows what...anyway...i noticed hes been stranded for a few days so i called him last night and offered to go grocery shopping for him, and then i made him a home-cooked meal which im sure he hasnt had in a while... Homemade meatloaf & mashed potatoes with a side of fresh steamed vegetables. Made me feel good him saying its the best meatloaf hes ever had.. Neighbors or not... please take care of your elders, especially if they're all alone 😔

US American brown sugar is actually quite different from our german brown sugar. Theirs is normal white sugar mixed with molasses and ours is just cane sugar. So the American brown sugar is wayy more moist than ours.

@@Vinsainto You should make spoon cookies! It's basically just browned butter shortbread that you sandwich with jam or chocolate. They have a super sandy texture and are really good when you eat them on the first day, but if you leave them in an airtight container for a few days, they turn into the most amazingly delicious cookies you've ever had! I think you and Naomi would really like them! Hope you guys had a good Christmas💚

In my family, vodka sauce was made with prosciutto, so you’d use the vodka to cook the meat lol. If you’re feeling wild you light the vodka on fire in the pan, but you can also just cook it off with heat slowly. Not sure what other reason you’d use the vodka for🤷‍♀️

eggnog is based on a brisialian native's liquor called Abacate. Abacate was made from avocados, alcohol and sugar. european sailors liked it and because of the sugar and alcohol in it it wouldn't go bad too quickly, so they could take it home with ships (unlike avocados which rotted too fast). so yeah back then they didnt have avocados in europe, so they weren't able to make it themselves. some dutch men replaced the avocado with eggs, and thats how eggnog was invented :D long story short: eggnog originally has alcohol in it, so it does as well in germany :p
