GORGEOUS Hoover! She's a true beauty with classic lines and colors, it's what made me first fall in Love with Hoover's of this era! Thank you Roger for posting pics of my Hoover HandiVac II, I got some answers that were very helpful. Lastly, I need not even add to what you said in your intro, other than as your friend, BIG fan of your FaceBook and both KZbin channels and a supporter.. BRAVO! It's your channel so I respect that and support anything you choose to do. I remember those. A relative had one, and i loved it floating around. In fact, they should make a very similar model, with a rotating brush in the head, and I'd buy it. Very retro...all the fashion right now.

They did make one around 2006 under the name Maytag Satellite. It had a turbo brush and a stretch hose.

Your Hoover brand and my Hoover brand seem to be two completely different entities, so it's interesting to see the Hoovers in your videos, since we don't have a US version of them over here.

Thanks for this video Roger, it's fascinating just to see the subtle differences between models in the UK and the Australian made Hoovers. The Constellations in Australia that I remember had a larger on/off switch depressed by your foot rather than the small toggle switch as shown on yours. What a great find you've scored in that condition with very minimal restoration required.

Wow, what an incredible museum piece. I grew up with one of these and it was pretty terrible on carpet, didn't really float that well, though ours may have been a bit tired. The colour wasn't blue, we had a pink one. Congratulations on acquiring the nicest old Constellation I've ever seen.

You can get a brand new stainless steel version on eBay at the moment, but branded Maytag Satellite. I’ve made a few videos of the Satellite and I can tell you it floats very well, perhaps a bit too well.

I remember using one of these in the late 80s with an orange base that was loaned to us by a friend. The motor of our vacuum had burnt out (due to lack of maintenance on our part I'm afraid). I could never have guessed then that they would become so iconic and collectable. There's a good chance that that particular machine still exists as it's owner never throws anything away! I did like the way it hovered, it was incredibly easy to manoeuvre. I'm sure the one I used had a grill on the exhaust but could be wrong, it was almost 30 years ago!

... Mum and Dad bought theirs new in 1970 when they got married. Had the later model type attachments though compared to this one. Same colour though and switch arrangement. I remember the blue paint “overspray” inside of the lid of theirs, so must of been like that from the factory.

I recently came across you channel and saw you doing a demo on the Bissell Crosswave. I had never heard or seen one of those. Well guess what? Raced out to Harvey Norman and grabbed one. They are orange in colour here in Australia and worth every dollar. All this thanks to you, so ignore the knuckheads, they are not worth your time or effort.

Great Britain is much safer than we are in that USA. Almost all of our electric devices just have two prongs and certainly none that I own have a fuse in the plug itself. We’re behind the times as usual. That’s a beautiful color combination there: blue and white 😎

I inherited an identical one which my grandmother bought in 1971, I think the colour changed to orange in about 1975.The last Hoover UK constellation had wheels and was mustard colour.

The last proper constellation was the one I pictured during the video. Hoover resurrected the name when they renamed the Galaxy.

Yes I know it was, we had one. We know all about Hoover cleaners as my dad worked for them for 31r years. We have also had Panasonic, Phillips, Electrolux, Goblin, Miele, Vax, Sebo and Vorwerk cleaners too.

Neat-o! I think the colors match the Senior 6525C in Mandarin Blue & Ivory, so to me the color has not shifted much if at all from its original look. The other color scheme I thought it might be would be the darker Dolphin Blue that matches the Senior 6525E.

Since getting your switch, I found a new old stock Senior switch on Ebay that looked the same so I bought it. Comparing it to yours, they do seem identical, so I will try that in the Connie, but much thanks for sending me yours, plus the other bits.

Congratulations on acquiring such a classic Hoover cleaner! Those flip-over carpet nozzles were never very good for cleaning under furniture - as soon as you turned the wand to reach far under a bed or sofa (or chesterfield as some say in Canada!), you shut off the suction path as the neck rotates. I remember advertisements showing the hose stored neatly on the round trough of the base, though. Pretty ingenious! However, I have developed an "allergic" reaction to any cylinder cleaner that exhausts directly onto the floor....much prefer the upward exhausts of newer cleaners....:-)

I think the biggest problem these days is that people see KZbin as free, because most people don't pay the advertising costs directly. People fail to keep in mind that nothing is free in the first place. You could choose to not make videos without payment but by your own kindness you put these videos out for other adults and children to view and enjoy. Block the negative people, and keep in mind that inadvertently they are actually giving you quite a compliment by showing that you are more important than anything else going on in their lives and they feel a compulsion to communicate with you (even though it's negative) before they do anything else instead. Convoluted, but still a form of flattery. Blocking seems to be the only way to get rid of the jerks though. I'm sorry you have to deal with them.
