I have finals this month, so this may or may not be my last video until I'm done. Nevertheless I hope you'll enjoy it and find something useful :) It seems that KZbin auto subtitles have still been working pretty well on my videos, but I'll make sure to go over the transcript, make my corrections and publish those as my own subs after my exams on my recent videos - cheers!

I have to say I really enjoyed this video. Horror manga wise I've only read Junji Ito and Kazuo Umez; mainly Kazuos series Orochi. Which is quite an enjoyable horror manga series with a variety of themes in the stories told. I havent read drifting classroom though, I feel like I'd really enjoy it! 😊❤📚

Yesss, I was just picking up my phone to research Shojo horror when you said you were working on a video on it. I would LOVE to see that, and have been really been enjoying this series.

Have you watched 3x3 Eyes, Mermaid Scar, Ultimate Teacher, Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku and Cyber City Oedo 808? All worth watching in my opinion. The Fist Of The North Star 80’s movie also. Devilman Crybaby was sick too! 😊👌

Loved this video, its very nice seeing more people talk about other horror mangakas, & Umezz having some of my favorite manga out there, devils right Hand & 14, please keep these videos coming, especially the horror manga ones. ❤ Oh & a manga recommendation u will love Gambling Apocalypse kaiji with a very unique art style & intense gambling, along with great character analysis, unfortunately the releases r slow with 2 of 6 omnibus out so far, but there great quality manga & the first 2 volumes covering the first arc of the series🤘 hope u enjoy

@@TheArtisanGeek it's good so far. I like the info and history and the funny moments too. "Essentially, everyone around her just dies," *maniacal giggling..... And I always like finding new things to read from your channel.

I have volume one of Kazuo Umezu's Cat Eyed Boy Also, I randomly picked up Franken Fran by Katsuhisa Kigitsu, and it's pretty good in a humorous and body horror type of way.

Thanks for this! Picking up "Petshop of Horrors" from my library. :) It would be interesting to hear your take on manga that's not specifically horror, but crosses over into it. "Fullmetal Alchemist" (incredibly designed body horror) and earlier issues of "Inu Yasha" (my first experience with yokai) come to mind.

Sute thing! I hope you'll enjoy Petshop of Horrors :D Fullmetal Alchemist has been on my list for a while really need to get to it as well as much works of Takahashi! Thanks for the recommendations :)

Magnetic Rose has to be one of my favourite short horror films I've seen, properly creepy and a great recommendation! One horror anime I've heard of recently is Mononoke which I'm hoping to watch soon, it has a beautiful art style. Really looking forward to your video on Shoujo horror :D

Since Devilman: Tanjou hen was your introduction to the series (by the way, if you havent, you should check out some of the english dub on youtube. It's Hilarious) do you intend to watch Devilman: Crybaby at some point? I thought it was pretty good if very very bleak!

i have a couple recommendations! midori (shoujo tsubaki), 1992 - first, a classic! animated single-handedly by hiroshi harada due to a lack of any producers willing to front money for this, it's a horrific tragedy about a girl who begins working in a circus "freak show" after her mother dies. a 47-min adaptation of a series by the one-and-only eroguro manga master suehiro maruo, the film is an anti-nationalist, anti-imperialist romp and a tragedy that a lot of people either find unbearable or completely misunderstand, as illustrated by some tiktok users after it recently gained some traction on that platform. urban legend hikiko (toshi densetsu monogatari hikiko), 2008 - far more obscure, this OVA is a 40-minute CG animation recounting the urban legend of hikiko, a child abused by her parents and bullied at school. in the afterlife, her spirit prays on schoolchildren. it's honestly pretty scary, due in part to its very dated CG art style, but it also feels like a perfect mix of a j-horror type story and US horror style directing. supposedly the urban legend is to some extent an allegory for the struggle of japanese hikikomori, for which the titular character is named. of course, my fascination with hiki was the reason i discovered this ova in the first place lol.
@kurokonaizumi92963 жыл бұрын
having trouble finding a good youtube link to urban legend hikiko, but i assure you it's not very hard to find online!
