Hey Joe. I'm sad you've gone silent. I love your videos for the banter and the education. Without them, it falls toward the other ASMR content that I pass right over. I play videos in the background while to do my daily tasks and your lack of audio saddens me. I know the world has gotten you down. There is always a fight to be had against one wrong or another; one disease or another... if we all fell silent in protest, who will be our champions? Find your voice. Some of us need to hear it

Respect your protest and your silence speaks volumes but I think your gentle wit and wisdom is greater. Nature, it is said, abhors a vacuum, so if we are silent, that silence will be filled by voices with less good intent than ours. The resto, was excellent considering the crust you started with. Best to you and your family.

Beautiful work, Joe. Very depressing that this world is in such a state that it has robbed you of the sweetness and joy I’m so accustomed to hearing in your videos. I really enjoy your banter as you work, and hearing the love and warmth in your voice when Trouble visits the workshop. I don’t mind the ASMR versions, but there was something very different and powerful, watching this and knowing it was a silent protest. I pray that your silent protest and the efforts of others bring the peace and healing that is so desperately needed. I was surprised to see that the keyless works in this Oris watch are almost identical to those in a tiny 1880s woman’s cylinder escapement pendant watch that I finished restoring last week. The only difference was the position of the click, and the shape of the cover plate and scale of the parts. The layout and functionality was the same. Each time I complete the restoration of a non-running cylinder escapement movement, I tell myself that it’ll be the last. Then another one finds me, is inevitably an heirloom with great sentimental value and I find myself saying “ok, I’ll do one more”. I’d love to see you repair one that needs more than a clean and lubrication if one happens to cross your bench. There is very little such content on KZbin, especially in English. The fact that so few watchmakers will agree to work on them has given rise to an impression that they’re incredibly difficult to service. Parts availability can be a problem, but most of them were built to be serviceable. Take care, Joe, and please, do not despair.

It’s good to see another video. You are great at your job. I respect how you take your time and fix it without shortcuts but you doing it without talking that just saw it. There’s nothing there. I love it the comments that you used to make tell your stories about where to watch was made, who made it The history of it and by you being silent it’s lost that please continue doing your comments love seeing your kids once in a while step in there because that’s what children do it looks like you have a wonderful family you’re very blessed so hopefully this reaches you I watched yourI don’t know what you call it on KZbin for years.
