A friend told me about 30 years ago 'never look at the price - first look for clothes you WANT to wear - then the price. If you can afford it, try it on, if you cannot afford it - forget it'. This has never let me down as my wardrobe is full of clothes I love to wear. My other two tips are LOOK at the FABRIC and KNOW your BODY SHAPE.

It’s not the same as shopping vintage, but I have lost a little weight and actually went into my closet and found a few items that are over 25 years old that fit me now and feel vintage 🙄

My advice is don't buy something just because it's vintage! Yes it being vintage is cool, but that doesn't inherently mean it's your style, it fits you, etc

Alyssa in the video you state: “The wonky stitching may indicate the clothes were handmade” - but we need to remember that ALL clothing is handmade. There is no machine that can cut, sew, press ANY type of clothing. Once you understand this then you will understand how we undervalue/exploit the manual labour used to make fast fashion.

Such a treat to see you trying on a somewhat different style from what you usually wear! I love 50’s fashion and was immediately drawn to the shop owners outfit. The brown floral print dress with the cobalt blue overcoat was stunning- perfect outfit to go to the theatre or opera. And your husband looked great in that suit, so now you just need someplace special to go out. If you like this style, then you’ll enjoy the movie Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, featuring the “new look” 50s Dior fashion. I took my Mom to see it and we both enjoyed it.

It's nice to have a vintage store where they actually restore and clean what they're selling. Here they don't they just focus the price on what brand it is or what country it came from even though the product is tattered or if it's leather it's cracked, peeled or badly damaged. It's so sad.
