All reminds of my teenage years, when i was first going out. Remember Holsten Pils being one of the only bottled lagers around at the time, then Becks and Bud came along. Kestrel Lager! I sneaked a few cans of the stuff into school when I was 13 ;)

First time I tasted beer I was about 9. I asked my stepdad if I could try some and he said no, but then left me a mouthful in the can so I could see what it tasted like. I wasn't impressed. 😂

I recall seeing Bill on an old Minder episode where he played a journalist where Mad Mickey did a runner from an open prison and tried to get his sentence reviewed. Arfur tried to get distraught little paws in it course.

Not much of 'boozer' now, but love these old beer and booze ads. They don't make them like they used to. Heck, I don't think they'd get away with some of these now!

When these were on telly as a kid I never thought twice about seeing a Mountie advertising a beer. But now I'm all grown up and understand who the *RCMP* are, this puts a totally different spin on things! 😁 Whoever served those constables their beers are gonna get in trouble: Serving alcohol to a uniformed officer is a *big* no-no! 😉

I doubt they got permission from the RMCP at the time. Given the lack of worldwide instant communication like we have now, they probably flew under the radar.

The "blind" bloke in the Hugh Laurie-voiced _Tennent's Pilsner_ ad - 7:56 - is Jeremy Swift, possibly best known nowadays as Higgins in _Ted Lasso_ . (Perhaps anyone else who cares already recognised him, but it's been driving me crazy for the last few hours as his identity was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't place him, then suddenly a lightbulb went on and I _had_ to share! 😁🤣 I will now actually be able to sleep tonight.)

I think it looks like they've filmed an actor in a real set and traced/drawn over it to create this animation style. It's ended up with one of those "Uncanny Valley" type of effects.

I was just finishing a pint of Woodfordes Wherry Real Ale as I watched this! 🍺 Started going out drinking in the mid 1990s. Back then it was lager such as Carlsberg, Fosters and Stella Artois. I never liked Carling very much.

I don't think that Ian Botham _Dansk LA_ advert was fully thought through - your spokesperson can only say it tastes just like real lager at gunpoint? I mean, it's Carlsberg, which doesn't taste of anything anyway 😛, but isn't that exactly the opposite of the message you want to send? I kept expecting an additional, gun-free endorsement, but no. Weird.
