In my quest to fly my helicopters at least 1 more time in my life, I remember I had footage when I wrote an article for Radio Helicopter and Model Airplane News magazines in 1989, 35 years ago. This is the Kavan Shark 40. Thanks for watching, please click the like button, and subscribe too. Thanks. ~Dave

Hi Dave Nice helicopter this Kavan Shark 40. Always nice to see your old video. I didn't know this helicopter. It's just a shame they are no longer made. Thank you for sharing your beautiful video Dave. Happy flying. 👍😃 🎮 🚁 🎬🎥🍀🍀🍀🍀

I loved the Kavan catalog, but I couldn't afford a helicopter in the 80s and, due to a lack of skills, I wouldn't have been able to fly one. Tanks for this video 👍

Hi Dave, You're giving us all a trip down memory lane, but there was a third shark the Dubro Shark. I believe I bought mine in 1974 and had it airborne in 1975. You and Ilea stay safe and thanks for your service.

Good morning Dave Did you ever install a gyro on the Kavan ? Love the tunes
@NightFlyyer4 ай бұрын
@@edwydra9987 No. I could fly it ok so didn’t. Only big Futaba gyros existed and was too big to fit for this one. Thanks.

Understood I have the Futaba in my shuttle I have. A deep appreciation for you heli pioneers without gyros I’m enjoying the series Thanks Dave

This looks like the same section of road you used for flight testing all sorts of ships in old footage. Where was this?
@NightFlyyer4 ай бұрын
Yes. This was on La Pata Avenue in San Juan Capistrano, Cal. There was a dead end at the DUMP at the top of the hill. It was closed after 5 and on Sundays, so our club flew on the road, with virtually no traffic. Thanks.
@ChrisFu74 ай бұрын
@@NightFlyyer Ah that explains it, always wondered why there was never any traffic!
