Having seen a good few of these restoration channels, I've gotta say you've impressed me. You have no idea how much the little things like explaining the plastic parts and showing how you initially tried to save the clock face add to this; this is just genuinely good restoration work. I'm pleasantly surprised at how little I had to stop and ask "wait why'd they do that, if they're going for restoration then why'd they throw out that original part or paint it bubblegum red or et cetera?" Could be biased from watching too much art conservation where they try and retain as much of the original as possible, but still. This channel's underrated.

Realmente você tocou no ponto certo.

In 1962, when I was 9, my father brought back one of these clocks from Holland, where he was acting for a major Canadian seafood company to bring a brand-new trawler to Canada. This clock is still ticking away on the wall right behind me as I type this. It gets serviced maybe every ten years. Never knew it was called a Zaandam clock.
@LittleRestorers3 ай бұрын
@Fafnir53 The Zaadam originals go back to late 1600 and got the name from the Zaan region (near Amsterdam) where they were designed and manufactured. The style was later used by companies like Warmink. Over here in Australia, one made by Orfac is super rare to come across.
