Great video. Agree with with you 100% on Mingus. Will check out your recommendations. Thank you.

Great finds. I have that same Gato album. You should check out some of his early stuff from the Flying Dutchman label, especially Bolivia. I like you channel and your honest delivery. Take care

Mate, your channel is great because of your sincerity, honesty and good nature discussing music and records. Man, it's so refreshing for the vinyl community. Keep at it! WOW, you have The Meters Fire on the Bayou, would kill for that. Wish we had these releases here in Oz. Also check out the Dusty release of outtakes from those Memphis sessions (RSD release). Stay well bud.

Dusty is on my wants list along with the Mingus. I had a great weekend scored 22 albums. 20 Jazz 2 Beatles. Sitting at 976. The channel is on its way. The Vinyl Crabb. Great vid.

Again, you're so welcome! I'm really happy to see your channel grow, you definitely deserve it! So many great finds. I need to get more Ray in my collection. His record from the 70's called "Doing His Thing" is actually the first record I ever bought when I was 12, and it's still in my collection! Totally agree with you on that Dusty record, it's an essential! Half Priced Books is one of the many things I miss about living in Washington, I used to find some pretty rare albums there for super cheap. Keep on being you, and keep on making killer videos ✌️
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
You’re too kind! But that is seriously awesome that you still have it. My first records were from my dad and I still have them, but most of them are really beat up so it’s more so for the sentimental purpose. And half price books can be veryyy hit or miss but sometimes you can find some really amazing things there for really great prices. I’ve found a RL Zeppelin 2, an original stereo Sonics, crazy rare disco/funk album that I traded to get the Yesterday’s Children and other really great things too! Thanks again Sam, and you as well, keep on bein a huge badass please and thank you

Based on this video I gave Gato Barbieri and Albert Heath a listen. Love both of them. That said, they are both on my wantlist now..well one of them... Stopped at my local shop today and found a very good looking copy of Gato Barbieri - Chapter One: Latin America which is a Promo: Not For Sale copy. Really excited for that one. Still hunting for Albert Heath though. Thanks for this video as it has turned me on to some music I had not hear before and I will now be adding to my streams from time to time.

Hey man! Ahhh that’s so awesome. I’m seriously happy that you enjoyed them. Both great in their own very different ways. Chapter One is most certainly a slept on record that is so attainable at the same time, but the Kwanza record by Albert isn’t one I’ve ever seen pop up. If you’re into the idea I’d check eBay every now and then and maybe a good copy will pop up at a good price. Again, so stoked that you dig em! Cheers!

I debate this with myself a lot, but Dusty is Memphis May be my number record one of all time. I actually have an OG press that I bought…when it was released. Yep. I’m that old. Lol. I also have the Acoustic Sounds/Analog Productions 45rpm reissue and the sound is unbelievable. Worth every penny. Nice find with the Coltrane album. Good one. I’m new to your channel. Well done! 👍🏼

Thanks John! But I actually think it’s awesome that you bought one when it came out! Plus all are welcome here, regardless of age, race, gender or anything else. This is all about the music! But I’ve heard people prefer the 33 1/3 over the 45 on that one, but I’m not able to compare! Thank on the Coltrane as well! Trying to find more, but as we all know, it’s unbelievably hard these days hahah. Thanks again John!

Hi Trent. Nice video. By the way I love the Lightnin' Hopkins image you chose to illustrate your channel. I would also love to share the music I love on KZbin but my collection is essentially composed of CDs which must be like the original sin for all the vinyl lovers. (I love vinyls also). Thierry
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Thierry! It’s a really great album and I love the art work sooo much, but I don’t think it’s a sin at all!! As long as it’s music you love and you’re listening to it how you want to then I think that’s awesome. If you ever decide to start a channel let me know and I’ll be your first subscriber! Would love to see the collection of both vinyl and cds!
@thierrydefrance72202 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your nice comment Trent. You are right it is the music that matters whatever the format. I am not familiar with the process of making and sharing videos though.. Anyway I think it could be interesting to have the point of view of a french music lover. Not that many of us doing these kind of videos on KZbin.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
@@thierrydefrance7220 to be honest I really wasn’t familiar with it either, but I just film them on my phone and use the KZbin app to upload them. A pretty simple and easy process to learn! I think it would be very interesting to learn about French music! I don’t really know anything about it. The closest I know to French music is all of the American jazz guys going to Europe and France to perform and record
@thierrydefrance72202 жыл бұрын
@@trentsrecords Oh God! I did not mean to talk about french music (unfortunately very little to save) but about the vision of a french guy on the wonderful english and american artists I love.

Do you think that these copies will have a pristine cover without the shrink that they had the day you bought it? It's a matter of time that these records got "defects" on covers. The shrink don't do any damaged on covers or on vinyl, I don’t get the people that put out the shrink out of the cover....

That Magic 45 is cool. A bit pricey to ship to Canada so I’ll have to pass unfortunately. A cool idea to reissue deep heavy psych rarities with the extra goodies. I still need to add Meters to my collection. I never see them in the wild. Great pickups.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Ah damn, I’m sorry dude. I know shipping can sometimes be a deterrent, especially when not in the States. I agree though, such a cool idea. I’ll be ordering their next release as well, and I never see the meters either! So when I saw that I knew I had to at least ask. Cheers!
@thehypnagogicstate46072 жыл бұрын
I would be totally all over those 45’s too. I see they’ve already pressed some Bolder Damn and Iron Claw! I have the Iron Claw that was repressed by Rockadrome last year. If you like heavy acid rock / proto metal then it’s a must. Bolder Damn Lp is epic as well.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
@@thehypnagogicstate4607 I’ve listened to a bit of Iron Claw and I really dig it! I tend to lean towards the heavier acid rock and proto metal stuff, so it’s right up my alley! I haven’t heard the Bolder Damn though so I’ll have to give that one a listen, thanks for the suggestion! Cheers man

Big fan of Waylon Jennings, love his 70’s and early 80’s. Honestly I think he’s my favorite country singer. Which are your favorite albums by him?
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
He’s defifnekt my favorite. Love his singing and just his attitude and how him and Willie helped to change country music. My favorite is definitely Lonesome On’ry & mean and Honky Tonk is a very close second. Have a copy of lonesome but sadly it’s pretty beat up and I never really see it
