Awesome video Brian, i love that you take us with you, on the learning curve. As a noob, i find it way better and more informational, then watching a master wrapper flying through the installation. I've been glued to the screen in all your wrapping video's, and can definitely tell, that your skill level and confidence, has grown fast. Again, awesome video content, and keep it up.👌💪

Awesome video Brian. Do you see any issue with wrapping a white Model 3 in the FlexiShield Cosmetic PPF? Do you think it will wrap around corners and between body panels without issue?

I got the ppf matte on my model y. But it’s super hard to clean. There are many stains that I can’t remove. Anyone knows how to clean them?

Looks 🔥. Impressed with the look of it. Never thought about seeing the white after vinyl wrapping a car. What color would be good to have to go to frost blue vinyl wrap?

Newbie question. What kind of knife are you using to trim the film? I almost freaked out since it looked like a box cutter and I'd worry about cutting/scratching the vehicle/paint.
@TheZudoke2 жыл бұрын
With a sharp knife and littlw pressure u can cut only the vinly i takes a bit of prqctice

Enjoyed your video! Nicely done! I'm thinking about getting white 2022 model Y ppf'd with Expel matte white or clear. Do you have a preference?
@i1Tesla2 жыл бұрын
If you do clear you just need to do the front. Then later if you want to change up the color you can add vinyl over the PPF. Doing the front half is much less than the whole car

Any issues wrapping over a ceramic coating?
@i1Tesla2 жыл бұрын
Yes the ceramic needs to be removed first
@awo1fman2 жыл бұрын
"Ceramic" coatings are a lie, it's just overpriced synthetic polish, and any "wax" product will need to be removed before applying any kind of wrap. Have you ever tried to tape waxed paper? Same thing. That's one of the main reasons they do such as thorough cleaning of your car before they wrap it. Anything at all that is between the paint and the adhesive is a problem.
@mitchellbarnow17092 жыл бұрын
My detail shop does not use PPF templates, they roll all of the edges over and then cut them with a razor blade. The result is no ugly edges that accumulate a black line of dirt. The trade off is that you get what you pay because it’s very expensive and no they don’t cut the paint with their blades. They treat clear or matte the same way in installation.
@i1Tesla2 жыл бұрын
Yes some shops install PPF in big sheets. Take longer but you have better results for the customer.
@jamesalford92962 жыл бұрын
Every shop I have inquired has always told me Vinyl can not self heal compared to PPF's ability to do so. Is that not the case as you say here, that both can self heal?
@i1Tesla2 жыл бұрын
PPF is a little better at self healing bigger scratches, true. But the normal scratches they are the same. PPF is much thicker so it will protect more. Plus they make more off PPF
@MTNRanger2 жыл бұрын

I really enjoy your content and love the current color of your model Y. I can’t wait to see what you do with the Plaid when it gets back. I hope that your family is recovering from the accident. You got to love how safe Elon made these cars. ? What is the name and specs of your Signature rims on your Y? Are the lights than the factory 20”?

Thickness has very little to do with the amount of protection. It's the material itself that is important. My "vinyl" wrap is quite thick, probably thicker than any PPF, but it tears easily. PPF is usually polyurethane, which is much tougher, even at a fraction of the thickness. Way back in the early days of smartphones, I put a Zagg screen protector and skin on my Nexus One. It was made of polyurethane and the protection was absolute. It also had a gloss finish but never showed fingerprints. I never had a scratch on that phone. I've tried other screen protectors on other phones since and they are all absolute crap in comparison, including glass. I will never again use a glass screen protector because when (NOT if, when, because shattering is certain with those) they break the sharp edges WILL scratch your screen and they have zero impact absorption because they are too hard, so your screen is likely to break along with the protector. I haven't had a Zagg product in years because they only cater to the flagship name brands, but Armorsuit Militaryshield uses the same material and fits many more applications. Anyway, I don't understand why PPF can't be colored or why colored wraps are so wimpy, but I guess the best solution is to do both like some people are doing. Then you have the best of both worlds because you're doing both.

There is color ppf now, and even color shifting ppf. And almost all vinyl wrap for cars is thinner than ppf, unless you have some special vinyl that had laminate on it
@caseylgoodrich2 жыл бұрын
PPF if want something different matte ppf otherwise they have to take apart you car to wrap in vinyl and ppf is stronger than vinyl and can self heal
@StevenYoungcaptual2 жыл бұрын
I’m at a lose why one would wrap an expensive car. PPL yes, but a color wrap-No way.
@awo1fman2 жыл бұрын
Why would anybody customize anything? Because it makes it uniquely theirs. And why would you NOT wrap an expensive car and thereby protect it? Even the worst vinyl wrap will be a gigantic protection upgrade for the OEM paint.
