You need the Plus and the Pro both in the same car at same time in order to do a really accurate comparison. This video is not very helpful.

A229 Plus 😀, 2K 30fps is the sweet point for dash cam, value for money ... I would just add the CPL filter.

Glad to hear it! The A229 Plus is giving stellar results in our testing.

@@blackboxmycaris there much difference with reading license plates between the plus and the pro? I don’t mind the 2k resolution but if you can read license plates much better with the pro then I can maybe better go for that one.

Just ordered the A229 Plus with a hardwire kit. I can't wait for it. The reason I'm going for this 2ch (front+rear) is of the Starvis 2 sensor and price. Like you say, "sweet point"

8:24 The details on both are AWESOME! but the fact that you can even read the happy hour timing of the restaurant on Pro model is INSANE! 🤯

in your opinion, for the PLUS 2k model sample video are the compression artifacts from the camera codec or youtube itself?

You showed the interior video for the a229 pro, not the front one at night time

How does the CPL filter affect night recording? Is it like wearing sunglasses at night and you can't see well?
@blackboxmycar5 ай бұрын
Great question! The CPL filter for the VIOFO A229 Pro and Plus helps reduce glare and reflections, even at night. It's not like wearing sunglasses at night; instead, it enhances the overall image quality by minimizing unwanted light reflections. This should improve the clarity and color saturation of your recordings, regardless of the time of day. At night, it can help reduce the brightness of headlights on vehicles behind you or in oncoming traffic, making your footage clearer and more detailed.

Does the footage back up into a cloud service?
@blackboxmycar3 ай бұрын
Hi there! The VIOFO A229 Pro and Plus models do not offer cloud backup features. If you're interested in cloud capabilities, you might want to consider brands like BlackVue or Thinkware, which offer dash cams with cloud features. If you have more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team at info@blackboxmycar.com or chat with us via Live Chat. We're here to help!

tell me how they record sound?
@blackboxmycar5 ай бұрын
Great Question! Both the VIOFO A229 Pro and A229 Plus dash cams come with a built-in microphone, allowing them to record audio along with video. This feature ensures that you capture not only the visuals but also any important sounds during your drives.

0:40 the A119 has the 5mp sony starvis 2, the A229 has the 8mp sony starvis 2 according to their website. it's the back camera of the 229 that has the 5mp . plz update me who's in the wrong? also HDR gives more ghosting wich is worse for reading license plate, best to use it at night only. seems to me you are a lazy reviewer

pro seems darker .. plus is brighter
@blackboxmycar2 ай бұрын
Hi there! The A229 Plus uses STARVIS 2 sensors for both cameras, which are known for their excellent low-light performance and can sometimes produce brighter images. The Pro model uses a STARVIS (not STARVIS 2) sensor for the rear camera, which might explain the difference you're seeing. However, brightness isn't always indicative of better overall image quality. The Pro model might be optimized for a different balance of contrast and detail. If you're concerned about the image quality or if it's not meeting your expectations, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team at info@blackboxmycar.com. They can provide more specific guidance and might be able to suggest some settings adjustments to optimize the image for your needs.

@@blackboxmycar this is not accurate, both cams use STARVIS 2 for both front and rear.
