Dick Cavett is such a class act. He understands the art of making an interview interesting for the interviewee, as well as the audience. Pretty much every other Abba interview I've ever seen they get asked stock questions and give stock answers.

Good point. It actually took years for anyone to realize that I couldn't read music (I'm dyslexic), because I played well enough 'by ear' that I fooled everyone into thinking that I could. Eventually I learned how to read music, but I could play long before I learned to read sheet music. STAY AWESOME! :)

@tranquilnightmares It was an Italian that made fun her, jerk. I am an American and I actually JUST decided to look up ABBA interviews because I love Swedish accents and I wanted to hear theirs. In case you haven't noticed, we American's have accents as well; the original English accent, of course, comes from England. Even though you were rude and you stereotyped the people in my country, I will say that Irish people have wonderful accents as well and the language of Ireland is beautiful..

If the interviewer was Olivia Newton John instead, Abba would have been let out of the blocks and enjoyed conversing profusely with us, the audience. A sure sign that the audience in the studio is making up for a poor interviewer is when it giggles constantly. But an audience should laugh instead of giggle. I can imagine a decent interviewer would have enabled the audience to laugh.

Dustshoe Dick Cavett was one of the greatest interviewers of all time. What you're watching right now is when he basically went "fuck it", it was '81 and the network were threatening to pull the show, but in his prime he was untouchable.
