It picked a good time to come out imo. MK1 is... MK1. Traditional fighting games seem to be a lot more popular in the mainstream now. Especially considering the state Smash is in. Needless to say a lot of content creators that got into modern fighting games via Tekken 8 and SF6 will be playing this for at least awhile. The guys that missed out on the Tekken 8 hype will try to pick this up. Etc. I think this is Virtua Fighter's biggest chance to make it into the mainstream.

WOW...50 year old here. Good old VF. Hard to imagine it same old, same old. I do a "buy every fighting game" check in around 2010 and 2020 and Dead or Alive (VF cameos aside) felt the closest...poor VF felt beoke without counters on all for all, but I still see that as a weakness design vs. glory days vf5ish

Back when fighting games took skill and not ridiculous combo juggling and specials that all it takes to win is to hit someone with one blow to open them up for the whole combo special tag your teammate and do the whole spiel again

2024 has been an insane year for gaming. From the Soul Reaver 1&2 remasters to Virtua Fighter making its return. I can tell even Den was happy seeing this reveal. Hopefully VF would add characters from Yakuza and Shenmue to the roster.

I really hope they don't cut anyone at all, because it has pretty small library of characters compared to ginats like Tekken, SF, MK or KoF, whose respective character libraries grew to include over 70 different characters over decades each! It's just 20 characters we are talking about and each of them are unique enough to keep them all with their own distinctive fight style! I say do what Killer Instinct reboot did back in 2013 and keep all the characters, but add new ones on top of that! VF needs to catch up with all these giants and it simply not going to if it will be stuck within that 15-20 characters range...not asking for something crazy like 40+ characters game, but at least 24-26 would be good enough, all 20 returning ones plus 4-6 new ones, sounds good to me! If you have to axe certain characters, just get rid of that boring android mimic boss chick, she overstayed her welcome as main series baddie, time to move on from her! She always was so utterly boring...VF deserves it's own charismatic main villain aka M.Bison, Rugal/Geese or Shao Kahn with his/her own unique moveset!

I know this was just a teaser trailer, but not much of a trailer, in my opinion. Didn't really do anything for me.
