If anything, Pai Chan became the baseline for Lei Fang, Xianghua and Ling Xiaoyu. None of them are resembles Chun Li in any manner. Yes they're Chinese but the personality, moves sets and lore are completely different.

To be precise, the first playable female martial artist in video game history was the protagonist of Onna Sanshiro / Typhoon Gal. Chun Li was the second and by fat the most iconic.

Akira 'Akiman' Yasuda changed it because she didn't look "very $€×y" and the design lacked visual impact and personality. He decided to give her bare legs and a bodycon dress, making her look more like a professional wrestler. 10:59 Thanks for using the Character Select theme of the original Fighter's History (1993) I much prefer the music of the original than the sequel, Fighter's History Dynamite (1994) I never saw Feilin as a Chun-Li clone. Feilin is a chinese opera actress, the same job Mian (KOF) has. Feilin was never popular, in fact Ryoko got all the attention to the point that became the female face of the Fighter's History series At least all of Feilin's themes are great 🎵 Liu Yungmie felt more like a Chun-Li clone than Feilin, mainly because of those legs, the main difference is that Yungmie practices taekwondo. She walked so Juri Han (Street Fighter) could run I personally prefer Yungmie. Yungmie participates in the Great Grapple in order to investigate her parents' disappearance Also, she appeared as a guest in the game Suiko Enbu: Fuunsaiki (for the Sega Saturn) alongside Makoto Mizoguchi. In that game Yungmie got new victory poses, one of them looks like Chun-Li's iconic 'Yatta!' pose because of how girly and cheerful she looks

In fairness to Yungmie, she has the legs but I feel like she's unique enough, same with Tia only Tia's cooler, and Breakers is just a much better game than FH. Jam's similarities are deliberate references to Chun-Li, with her flying kick super even being one of Chun-Li's supers. Lastly I don't think SNK had a Chun-Li clone, closest is arguably Luong from KoFXIV, although Korean and using a style based on Taekwondo, making her moveset closer to Juri, but as Juri was designed as a parallel to Chun-Li it fits. Luong kind of gives vibes of a fusion of the two.

I don’t see it. Ryu (and his special moves) were far more imitated back in the early 90’s than Chun Li. If you ask anyone what’s the first fighting game special move they think of you’re far more likely to hear “hadoken” or “shoryuken” than “kikoken” or “spinning bird kick” lol.
