The problem is: most games these days lack these physic objects or interactive objects; this is part of the reason why flatscreen to VR ports dont work well (not just because of the missing weapon handling), the world just feels dead. tip for climbing in blade and sorcery: when you reach the top of the structure you just climbed, instead of trying to further climb up to reach the top, its much easier just to fling yourself over the edge. grab the ledge with one or two hands, raise your arms above you, and push down your arms while letting go. this'll fling you upwards and usually on top of the structure.
@thelelanatorlol39782 жыл бұрын
For boneworks where you were talking about the odd physics quirks, pushing against an immovable object will naturally push you back instead (newtons third law), and the character automatically crouching when airborne is because people were having trouble figuring out that you need to crouch in the air to vault over obstacles easily so they just made it automatic. As for climbing, you can be very fast at it if you understand that the game applies forces to your character to match your real life arm positions to your virtual arms. Play by the games rules and you will find the gameplay much smoother.

The biggest and only problem I have with Boneworks is that it seems like they used one sound effect for EVERY single gun. If each gun was distinctive in how it sounds, it would be more rewarding to use different weapons, and I feel that each shot would be more satisfactory if the sound design was more immersive in this way, adding power and kick to the gun in your brain each time you fire it.

Something I’d like to say is that the boneworks devs themselves said they wanted the game to be outdated in a couple years

I can't wait for the crystal hunt update for blade and sorcery

Boneworks - simultaneously pulling the trigger and grip to draw the weapon makes accidental draws less likely. But with 100% probability they lead to unintentional shooting in an unknown direction. And given that the game has been abandoned for a long time, sooner or later this will begin to happen not only on not very popular VR systems like Reverb G2, but on all systems in general. Walking Dead also has a whole bunch of problems, and it's not surprising again with the weapon draw system, especially after the last update which was clearly pulled with its last legs and it's unlikely we will see any patches or updates in the future. Alex is having issues with graphic settings where the game looks like it is on the lowest settings on the highest settings, the problem is a broken rendering system in the viewport, when was the last time Alex was updated there? And all these problems appeared over time, the software of VR systems is updated, games is not = a lot of rubbish. On systems like Index they might still work fine, on everyone else... welcome to the casino world, you're either lucky or you're not. P.s. The system for simultaneously pressing the trigger and grip for getting out of the holster is not used anywhere. Because: 1) Since when is this a problem? How can it happen that you suddenly wanted to press the grip in extremely hard-to-reach places on the body? 2) You learn very quickly not to do this. Without idiotic solutions like, "HEY! You need to get a gun, come on you pull the TRIGGER, it's safe!" 3) This leads to problems when you start shooting while drawing your weapon. 4) It goes against any normal brain function or gun handling rules.

Was watching this video for a bit, then went out. When I got back the one thing I picked up is when things goes smoothly it's great but when it doesn't it's bunch of jank lol. I'll be saying that forever lol.

For blade and sorcery they are planning this year to add a crystal hunt gamemode and i think you would like it

You forgot to mention the ability to rip out people’s hearts and eat them in Hellsplit

Hellsplit arena is what B&S should be. I love doing self imposed runs but sometimes you want the game to give you challenges

This video is very good, but one critique is that i have to mention is how little justice you did the climbing in Blade and Sorcery. Its actually the least heavy of the three you mention with climbing--it really feels like it simulates the use of your legs much more than most other games, and it allows you to fling your arms to leap between grab points and jump off of walls, as well as swing off of lanterns, keeping parity with your arm position. By far the best movement of all of these, though admittedly its unrealistic, as you can grab almost any edge on any environment. Makes climbing buildings like youre in Assassin's Creed real easy though. Also if you ever find yourself needing to climb up to the top of a ledge, I have an easy solution that ONLY works in B&S, not the others--First, grab the ledge with both hands like youd assume. Second, raise your hands a bit so youre hanging from the ledge. Finally, fling your arms like you intend to vault over/on top of the ledge, while releasing grab and pressing jump. You'll fling yourself up and over the edge and land atop with no issues. Once you get used to it, its one of the most satisfying climbing systems in any VR game IMO.

i appreciate this review it was very accurate tho there is a few things you could've mentioned, you can go back to older updates in blades and sorcery if you feel like the older versions were better, you can also use mods from that time, boneworks is lanky but is meant for people who have good grip of the vr mechanics as said in the menu ''this game is for for expert VR users" (i have over 300 hours on the game alot on climbing and yes; as much as i defend any critisism thrown towards the game, it does feel lanky but once you get used to the climbing and other janks it feels flawless) other than that amazing video not many people actually compare like this and you sir have earned a new sub

I really hope you offer consulting to VR developers. It’s a Wild West out there and your insight would propel many indie studios.
