Do you have cider in America? I'm not sure you do. I remember Taylor Swift going on Alan Carr's, a popular British TV show and she never had cider before. It's a very popular drink in Normandy, Brittany and England. Fermented Apple Juice. My grand-dad (in Cherbourg) made his own cider. He had a small orchard and a wooden tool to press the sour apples. Distylled cider gives you Calvados, apple liquor. From a vlog perspective, I highly recommend you take a ferry to Pompey. Normandy is ok but there is a lot more to experience across the channel and you won't be bothered by the language barrier. From Portsmouth, it's easy to get to London. And you know, pubs and stuff. Fish and Chips. England is way more lively than Brittany and Normandy because Great Britain has the same population as France on a territory that is half smaller. Drive to Caen-Ouistreham, board on the night ferry at 10pm and sleep on the boat. At 6am you'll be at Portsmouth. No car, it will be cheap. Book a cabin though.

Jean is the kind of guy making me proud to be from Normandy... Someone speaking English comes visiting, he speaks perfect English too and explains everything clearly. People from abroad, just remember that clichés are just that: clichés! It's not meant to be true, it's only meant to make you love your country more than others so you won't even try to travel and see for yourself. I won't say people in France are able to speak proper English, for the most part that is still an issue, but you'll find people like Jean who understood this is good for business. Thanks for visiting my lovely Normandy Sasha, there is way more to learn from this region but I'd probably be the worst guide, so I'll just trust your judgement on where to go and what to do next.

This is the BEST video about a calvados distillery in Normandy EVER on KZbin! My favorite part is "challenges make everything better". And Meow's editing, of course. Best Supporting Actor nom to Uncle's pea coat. One autumn way back, I worked at an apple orchard giving tours to school kids, etc. The end of each tour was walking the kids thru making apple cider with an old-fashioned, hand crank cider press. If the kids had been well-behaved, they each got one cup of the fresh apple cider they had just made. If they had been awful brats, they could have ALL OF THE APPLE CIDER they wanted before their long bus ride home. 😈

Beautiful place. As a Veteran, I would love to go to Normandy someday to see the beaches where so many gave so much in June 1944. I have heard of Calvados in books I have read. It was very popular with the G.I.'s pushing in from the beaches. Fascinating video. I may not drink anymore, but I love seeing how stuff gets made.

I suspect Marina lives her life on the defensive. At least when interacting with cardboard cutouts like us online. I also suspect she spends time looking over her shoulder a little. She does enjoy flaunting the illusion of extravagance. It's understandable, the money gives her purpose, and thusly boosts her pretentiousness. Money helps her to accept herself and her past, yet she refuses to openly discuss her true feelings on the topic. If you watch any of her interviews you'll see there are certain things off the table. Marina/Sasha, yes everyone knows what you've done, but you seem to want to hide it, or at least hide your feelings. I believe you do feel some regret about it, although you're far too proud and stubborn to say different. You're just a person like everyone, you make mistakes. If only you'd admit to making mistakes, you'd be much more liked and respected. It's okay to be wrong, it's okay to forgive, and for a strong girl to cry.

There's something uncanny in having Sasha Grey on my home turf. Last thing you expect is an american youtuber to show up virtually on your doorstep bc we are literally oceans apart! I know, I know, D-Day what have you... By the way, Sasha's very close from Omaha beach and Utah beach as well. If you ask me for touristic guidance, I would suggest going up the Cherbourg Peninsula, for the landscape. La Hague has beautiful wilderness (not in the scale of America though, this is Europe, everything is small). It's been nicknamed Little Ireland. From Cherbourg and Caen, you can sail to Portsmouth in England. Beautiful place Portsmouth. The trip is 3 hour long from Cherbourg and 6 hour long from Caen. Once you're in Portsmouth 1) visit the place, there is a lot to see in Pompey 2) you can go on a train to London 2 hours away... or Oxford.
