As the parent of a 25 yr. old with autism, I immediately recognized that Dean had autism when at the graveyard, he was spinning his string cloth. Great video 😊 Parents of adult disabled are happy to take care of their children, the fear I have is who will look after mine when I am gone. Places to care for them are few and far between and with long waiting list, and then you have the fear of if they will be abused. My sweet daughter is a special gift from God but is very introverted. All folks with autism are not the same, just as we normal folks are not the same. It is a lonely life at times because people don't know how to respond to those with autism. They may think they are violent or like Dustin Hoffman in the movie RAIN MAN. Thank you so much for spotlighting this wonderful family! Acceptance is so important for our families, and your heart showed it! Thanks again!! ❤

We have a soon to be 27-year-old son who has high-functioning autism and we prayed for a long time that God would provide someone to take care of our son when we were gone and now we have a daughter that loves him so much and would do anything for him. Just pray and trust in God's provision!❤

Good luck with your daughter. She is lucky to have you. That’s the thing about a parent who has an autistic child. They can spot other autistic children a mile away. They’re all so unique, but similar in many ways. Stay the course and good luck with your daughter

My husband and I have a 23 year old son with autism.My biggest fear is who will take him.My sister says that she will.But,as you know;No one will love him the way his father and I do.We have always treated our son as a normal kid.he IS our normal.I truly believe he was placed in our care to teach us.Patience,understanding,fighting for him and most importantly love.I tip my hat to all the loving parents of the autistic children.You are not alone with the Almighty God as our father! Thank you very much for doing this Leo. My son has Asperger's syndrome, It is a mild form of Autism, or so it has been explained to me. He is very high functioning, he can hold down a job, drive a car. He gets frustrated very easily. But it seems the older he gets, the more life experience he gets, the less noticeable it is. Thank you very much again for your kindness Leo. I remember the cemetery that Asa is buried in, it was badly overgrown. It is in much better shape now. You may have a better chance now, of finding Asa's grave, if it is marked. Great video, thank you very much Leo and Heather. Have a great day. 😊

I don't know a lot about Autism but I do know a lot about Down syndrome because my uncle had it he lived until he was 67 years old something drs said he would not live until 18 he was a special angel to my family and myself, I wouldn't have changed him he was a light in our life!! I miss him today as much as when we lost him in December 2012 thank you so much for doing this Leo people need to see that they're gift special from God above innocent always see pure love thank you from families who are blessed to have these angels

I was a preschool teacher for children with special needs for years, it really seems like he knows and really understands his son well and gives him things to help him, thats really awesome. While i worked there, i got so much from those children,i think i got more then they got from me ❤

Leo thank you for this video. So many children today especially boys are autistic. It's good for the world to see how wonderful these children are. Would I change my grandson ? Maybe if it made his life better or easier. I do worry as he gets older about bullies etc. but I wouldn't change anything about him for my sake. He is a loving wonderful child. Are there challenges sure there are but they are worth dealing with. I love how you treat Dean. Leo you have a great heart.

Leo I enjoyed this video with Dean and his mom n dad. I think it's awesome that they take him on trips like this. I've seen some folks with children like this just keep their autistic children home because it's easier or because their afraid of what their child will do to embarrass them. Thanks, Leo, for one of your better videos. Not for the cemeteries or the gravesites, we've seen those before. Thanks for this video because of the reason you did it. I've known people that had children with special challenges of different types. I don't believe I've heard a one say they wished that they could change their child in any way. They just want them to be happy and healthy, like any parent does. The only concern they had was wondering what would happen when they weren't around to care for them anymore. God bless ya'll for one of your best yet. Ya'll stay safe out there getting these stories for us.

I just found ur channel!! I'm so happy to find it!! I live in Ohio, but all my mom's family is from Logan and Man, West Virginia !! We go there to visit every so often and, I spent lots of time as a child with my mom, staying with relatives and visiting there. That area sure has a place in my heart!! I'm so happy to find ur channel and hear some of the stories of that area ❤ my mom, her brother and sister, and my mamaw use to tell me all kinds of stories about their life there, and stories of people there. My mamaw was related to the famous Hatfields lol some how she was cousins with them, and my cousin married a McCoy, her husband is related to the famous McCoy's lol my family actually lives close to the Hatfield and Mccoy trails...its a small world lol
