Thank you for yet another amazing review, Zef. I was so excited for this ship and just like you, the 2410 redesign is just absolutely gorgeous. The only thing I can't stand (and it is a problem with all of the Discovery-Era redesigns) are those HIDEOUS orange-capped nacelles. I would love to use the full Buran design on the U.S.S. Triskelion, but those orange caps look outrageously ridiculous. I feel like the stats could use a rework though, as it flies a bit like a brick shit-house. All in all, though - despite hating Discovery with a fiery passion - the Buran/Cardenas is an amazing design. She's a keeper.

I really love the 25th cen designs but for sure would love a t6 nova ship my fave out of the tv ships also with some shield fx the arc reactor u call it at the back looks like the dalek eye stalk from 2005 design xD

Since there is the event to get free ship, would you recommend Buran? I really like the design. I know it will took severall months, but im already deciding which ship from c-store i should take (i have mostly federation chracters), currently im thinking between Buran and Chronos class (im getting the temporal cruiser fleet ship btw).

Get what you like, but I believe the Chronos class dreadnought is by far the superior ship as with a flip of a switch, you can bump the Chronos Dreadnought's speed in attack mode to near-escort level turn rate - it even has slightly superior bridge seating as well. As good looking as the Buran is, if you can't stand slow cruisers with slow turn ratings (and aren't into "tanking"), you may regret your purchase. Another good choice is the T6 Miranda/Reliant class - a good ship with decent turn rating, as well as decent stats for a jack of all trades beam boat.

I LOVE the design, I just HATE how small and slow it is. Four nacelles that are almost the same length as the damn saucer, you'd think this small ship would be "fast" - but NOOOOOOOO - it feels even slower than my T6 Oddy! The T6 Recon Destroyer is even slightly smaller and FASTER than that thing! The "best" comparison would be the Galaxy class cruisers as they are just about as slow - and the t6 Buran is SMALLER than that. It's literally a space barbie with an equal amount of cons (practicality) as it does have "pros" in the looks department. Let's not kid ourselves here, that's no Dreadnought at all. There's even the prototype dreadnought cruiser of roughly the same "size" as the Buran: the Atlas class prototype dreadnought cruiser - and guess what? It's got four nacelles and is FASTER with a turn rate of 8. I've been playing STO long enough to know for a fact Cryptic will never buff/rework ship stats, and the Buran class came crippled out of the gate. The aethestics on the other hand is 10/10.

Agreed on all counts. I absolutely hate Discovery, and even I have to admit, this ship is gorgeous, but I'm feeling a ton of buyer's remorse with how much of a goddamn turtle this thing is despite its size. Gorgeous ship.. Shit stats.

I love new ships but I’m tired of them being based on old Discovery designs. Even though they are updated they are still boxy. I want to see some ships based off the top levels of the miracle worker ships. Those ships would be bigger and have curves instead of all these squared off ships
