This is a biased statement. If black womens were not wearing weaves, you black men will still have something negative to say. Why don’t you be more domineering amongst your western men and develop your land rather than being a community of nesters.

@ElimanGibba 2 жыл бұрын
@Tui Kupp You missed the point completely . What was said in the video by Fijians & what was told to us in 2003 are consistent & accurate . I suppose you don’t want to hear it but if some Fijians claim their Descendants ( trace their Roots ) came from Africa , why is that an issue for ? I don’t recall hearing anyone claiming that Fijians of African Ancestry were the first Settlers. Further more nobody is claiming to be an Archaeologist ,I suggest you cool down your rough language man. Love & Peace
@ElimanGibba
@ElimanGibba 2 жыл бұрын
@Tui Kupp What is the misinformation ? Do you deny what you hear in the video ? Do you also deny what we heard ? Isn’t it true that some Fijians of African ancestry believe that hey are originally from Africa ! I am not sure how your condescending tone is educative at all but rather simply rude ! During our 3 week visit ,whenever I was asked where I am from ,my answer is always born in Senegal raised in Gambia & it will break the ice then the narrative will change to the link to Africa. That happened constantly, if you truly want to fight #Misinformation start in Fiji ,with our brothers and sisters there ,I am sure it won’t go well because they feel a sense of belonging & something big….. Africa. That is what you have a problem with but that is your issue !
@ElimanGibba
@ElimanGibba 2 жыл бұрын
@Tui Kupp You are not educating me , i have traveled the world and talked to people about Life & things. I was merely echoing the general sentiment about the African connection expressed to my wife and I in Fiji by Fijians. For you to call that misinformation is a bit too far & rich. The way you began the conversation/text/reply indicated to me that you want to fight ! I don’t have appetite for any exchange that begins with “Bull” & i can now see that in your mind you think you are a Teacher. You are probably one & good at it but ,that is not the question here or the premise of this video presentation . It is an African Brother Learning about the Beautiful Fijian Culture ….Talk to him ! Go to Fiji & work on your fight against #Misinformation. I am confident it will go well for you ! I everywhere we traveled people with make a connection to Africa in one way or another, I am sure you will have a problem with too right ? Why are you offended or mad about what they believe & claimed to be passed down ? Have a great week & all the best to you !

@Tui Kupp and Melanesians and Austronesians just popped up from nowhere ? You realize that latest studies have confirmed that Australian aborigines came straight out of Africa to Australia in the First Wave out of Africa migration. I'm sure Melanesians are as well, unlike the Polynesians who came from South East Asia.
@ElimanGibba
@ElimanGibba 2 жыл бұрын
@Tui Kupp Tell that to the Fijians who are expressing their Oral History as told to them . It is not Scientific but I suppose Polynesian Oral History & Myths falls in the same category ? By the way you have not answered my questions. Again , you sounding very condescending “Educate yourself “ in the knowledge of Science sounds like you invented science & I am pretty sure that is not the case.

Fijians are the tribe of Judah. The Tanganyika theory was a plot to hide their identity by the British government for whatever reason. There are Fijians who know what others do not, especially the highlanders who live in the remote mountainous areas of the country. Perhaps a great place to visit would be Namosi.A very close friend of mine, Fijian from Nadroga had asked a college student who's from Namosi if he had heard of Fijians being the tribe of Judah. The reply kind of shocked him.He replied,, Yes,, it has been passed down to us by our ancestors through generations that they came from the land of Israel.

The Europeans did the same shit in Africa trying to divide us...Calling some blacks Bantu, Nilos, Cushitic, San just to say we're different blacks and that too didn't work. Very jealous, INSECURE, people

Taqaniika is where the forefathers of most kaiViti descendants came from the paternal lineage maternal from Egypt hahahahahaha that was centuries ago before Europeans Chinese and other sailors saw Fiji. Nowadays most of the descendants especially those that are so dark skin tell lies a lot of where they originally come from just look at the behavior yes happy down to earth and always smiling. It is a secret for most of them descendants to hide their origins hahahahahahaha other wise their families come search for their long missing relatives

For your information my friend , Fijians don't have roots in Africa. DNA and it's language points to Taiwan. Fijians use the Tagalog vowels when they speak. It's origins trace back to Asia namely Taiwan. This vowels is strongly used in Japan as well. The Tagalog vowels which is also used across the Polynesia archipelago is (A,E,I,O,U) which for a start does not exist in any part of Africa. Secondly , our DNA which is the ultimate proof shows no direct link to Africa but Asia and the South Pacific and in most cases , Amazon. If there was any DNA link , then it would probably be a one off night stand type thing. People in Fiji are not well informed of this issue because they rely on hear say stories over kava or similar type setting and make decisions based on similar vowel sounds as suggested with the "Tanganyika" fib where in our language, it's pronounced " Tagani-ika).Two separate words describing fish in a sack and not one straight word which would have sound Taqanika (Notice the "Q" in this spelling) as oppose to the above from Africa. Our DNA points to Asia where our numbers are so similar to that of Taiwan , Filipinas , down to Indonesia. None of it exist in any part of Africa. Our double decked canoes in the past use to carry more than 3000 men and women. Their features probably changed somewhere between Indonesia and Melanesia. Though Fijians look like Melanesian's,( Dark Skinned ) their culture and language are that of Polynesia.(Lighter Skinned) Melanesians don't have chiefly systems and protocols as those in Polynesia like The Kingdom Tonga for an example. Melanesia just have like some sort of a headman's of its group similar to a chief but that's all there is to it, A chief. Watching this video makes me sad because of the mis information these market vendors are carrying around as if it's true when It's not. That tour guide lady was totally oblivious to the potential damage she could be causing us Fijians to the outside world. Govt needs to put laws in place to control those type's of promotions where an inexperienced individual is involved. I am saying this from a sincere heart who has business interest in Fiji as well. I have shown this video to friends and so far one even responded with disgust and said that lady doesn't even know the Fintel building but she knows how to rot a tourist. On the same token, your video is the first where I've seen someone mention the term 'Black" Fijians. It's usually Melanesians or Polynesians. We weren't slaves in history but fierce warriors who established itself in Fiji some thousand years back and which was called" Fisi" by the Tongans or "Viti" in Fijian. These three countries are related one way or the other, Samoa, Tonga and Fiji. I hope this should shed some light as who we truly we are as Fijians. Have nothing against Africans either but rather not allow people carrying on fib hear say stories where it has become somewhat real to those market vendors. Goodness knows how far those stories have gone. Please stick to the DNA and vowels theory as proof, that's all. Peace. Here's one proof of many kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6mZYWZ3i9Jmiqc Binaka .

The vowels you referred to are ALL without exception ALL used on the African continent by different African people. That is absolutely wrong. I see clearly this person is not a scholar of any sort now that does that mean that in trying to prove him wrong we have to invent things. Africa, is a continent not a country. A continent in which almost every other continent could fit in. It is the biggest one so please do not do like the individual who put up this video and come up with your own stuff. He has his opinion and others have their opinion, as for the reality it is not what people think. Also this out of Africa theory we always here about is a European invention. People is not to assume every African buys into it.

@Kazumi Mishima 007 My brother I finally understand why they say yall Melanesians & Australian Aborigines are connected with Niger-Kongoid peoples in Afraka & in the Americas. It seems that in the bible according to Zephaniah 3 & 10 that Niger-Kongos are God's: Beyond Nubia (Kush) and in Isaiah 18:1-2 it saying that Niger-Kongos in Afraka were sailing to their dispersed family. All this was happening in old times. I believe there is something to this because in Bantu Languages and the Languages of West Afraka you can see some form of Ancient Ebrew in our languages.

This is outstanding content. I wonder if African disdain for camera is due to mistrust of motive arising from colonialism? It is interesting that Fijians are so open to filming and documenting, perhaps because their heritage is not one of imperialism, colonialism and having been exploited? Just wondering....it seems that cultures that have not been severed are far more trusting. Your vlogging is exceptional, sir!

@@radinikorocaulagilagi8350 My apologies if I minimized an experience you have had via colonialism. I was unaware, as my exposure to Fijians has shown a fierce protection of customs, governance and practices. I am sincerely seeking understanding. It can be said that our brothers and sisters across the globe are generally friendly. Yet, many diasporan cultures, especially in Africa and Europe have an extraordinary disdain for filming. My intent is to understand this phenomenon.

We may have been exploited, but the British eventually left us alone to do our own thing unlike in other colonies. You can see that in our mannerisms and politeness and even picked up the British pastime of tea that we even offer tea to others as they pass by the villages and houses.
