Guys it really doesn't matter what order they are in. They are all amazing and it's all mentally your preferred feeling on a bike that matters. Just ride with what your comfortable on, and enjoy yourself. This test doesn't affect you in anyway, they are just stating other rider's opinions to get the results. It's an experiment. Take 7 completely different other riders and you'll get different results every time. It's basic statistics.

Im wondering what map setting they used on the crf. The thing about in the previous years with reviews on the crf they used the standard setting which i feel is an unfair start. i've personally felt the difference on the crf450 with standard vs aggressive and its noticeable. Even with the 15/16's i noticed most of the shootouts they used standard setting which is like the tamed down version of what the crf is actually capable of. I bet the 18's though are gnarly in the aggressive setting.

In my opinion, people are getting afraid of ranking the KTM's and Huskys number 1 now because so many people cry about it. Not knocking Honda, I know they make good reliable bikes, but they aren't the best in any category. They're the best bikes for casual riders in my opinion, they're easy to ride, easy powerbands, and usually fairly reliable. The KTM's are the hardcore bike designed to be all out the fastest but require the most skill to ride and usually compromise in reliabilty. If you're a pro rider you're going to want a KTM, if you're a regular joe you're going to prefer the more laid back CRF.

I don't get why people are mad because bikes do not have electric start standard well they are race bikes they are meant to be light and with electric start you have to have more wiring, a starter, and a battery
@maverick22427 жыл бұрын
Machine Life your argument would make sense, if the lightest bikes didn't have electric start, but two of the seven which are the heaviest don't have electric start, if you have tried it, you really don't know what you are missing! Same with Hydraulic clutch's I could never buy a new bike again without either!
@garrett32347 жыл бұрын
MaverickDH my 2 stroke never had electric start. You just got to be a man and kick it. No batteries to worry about. Im a huge Honda fan and love them but no kickstart option is horrible imo
@maverick22427 жыл бұрын
Garrett Gustafson well I'm guessing you never have had e start, I been kick starting dirtbikes mostly 2strokes for years, its not about htfu! It's beneficial once you have had it, plus esp when the competition has a tech advantage over you,I still prefer having both options which my bike does, has Kick and E start, I have never had an issue with my battery, but then I look after my gear! The negative for me if I was on a Honda is they dropped the kick start and still gained weight! Btw my bike is a 250cc 2stroke.
@garrett32347 жыл бұрын
MaverickDH you dont just roll down the hill and bump start it. I ride desert a lot so for me i dont feel i need it just more bullshit to add on the price. There was a time when bikes didnt have that shit. 99 percent of 2 strokes what i kost ride dont and my 05 450. It should be an option not a must
@robertwilkes18757 жыл бұрын
In a race if you stall or tip over the electric start is a huge advantage. Also as an older rider I can tell you it keeps me riding longer. Less fatigue and easy on the knees. Also KTM has the lightest bike and it has e Start. Bottom line electric start is a great advantage. If your paying 10k for a new bike you want all the advantages you can get.

How are they 2k more? At MSRP they are 1k more and ready to race, no extra money needed to race. The CRF is really good, but it's 25 pounds heavier, no hydraulic clutch and no chrome moly frame to absorb the sharp hits and not as good power, then there's the serviceability, especially the KTM air cleaner! And as for reliability? KTMs are as good as anything, if not better. Some of these test riders look like they spend too much time on a couch eating chips, pizza and beer.
@zshredclh107 жыл бұрын
A lot of salty people in these comments complaining that a bike with so many revisions didn't win or that their favorite bike didn't win. Look, unless you ride all of these bikes in a row, you have no room to talk. Also, keep in mind that these scores are an overall average of the scores from the riders. The Honda was not a favorite from every rider, some of the riders might have liked the KTM or Yamaha more, but again, these scores are an overall average.

Its SHOOTOUT SEASON! We all comsume every one of these tests, and with all the bikes being sooooo good; for the last 10 years the winner stays the same..... -The rider. The loser stays the same as well: -The rider's checkbook, and the sport as a whole. $9k dirt bikes will continue to shrink the involvement....i say that as a guy with two $9k bikes in the garage. But I'm 34, and can do that. My love for this sport began in the days of $4k 125's. We've forgotten how 'We all got here'...and prices the next generation out of the (manageable) cost of entry. I prefer Kickstart over electric by far, so much that the only reason I was about to buy a Beta dual sport is for that reason but they took them off so if I'm not getting kickstart anyways standard/stock then I'm just gonna buy a DRz400 for half the price cuz the drz you can buy a kickstart kit. Next thing you know bikes are gonna be electric and automatic transmission. Lol
