I have the grain bowl and love it! For truly fresh flours, it is only way to go and the flavor shows up in your baked goods. Right now (2022), there is a problem getting the whole grains but that should be fine again after all are recovered from the effects of the panemic and supply issues. IMPORTANT: Keep your grains frozen because they heat during milling and keeping them frozen also keeps them fresh. Mill only what you need each time. The very first time you mill your own from fresh grain you will be delighted at the fresh flavor.

I bought the dry blade container many years ago when it was first introduced. I love it. Use is regularly for whole wheat flour and cornmeal. Unlike the stupid AER container, this is worth every penny.

Yes. The Aer container has many bad reviews. I want the stainless steel container. But I must say, as expensive as Vitamix is, the container that it comes with, should be all you need to do everything.

I don't find the AER container stupid. I'm making the most amazing scrambled eggs with it. I "whip" heavy cream into the eggs with the aer then cook them. I'm getting the dry container too though because I've also been making bread lately and buying my flour. Cheers
@loveisall55202 жыл бұрын
@@isaachaze1 Those are some expensive eggs! After nearly 40 years of VitaMix models, I expect them to earn their keep; the AER container doesn't for me. And I know how to muddle drinks very well by hand...
@isaachaze12 жыл бұрын
@@loveisall5520 the aer is kind of limited. but I've been experimenting with scrambled eggs for a long time trying to get better than a restaurant. for the first time, my scrambled eggs are better than any restaurant (my opinion and my significant other's). For that alone, it's worth it. But I understand why it would be disappointing to some.

You might be able to but would not get the best results. You can use the dry container for general use as well but it is not going to do the best job. With the dry container, bowl the bowl and blades are designed to mill the flour. The bowl really is shaped differently. If that is all you will use it for, it might not be worth it as it would not do as good a job as the "regular" bowl for the job. However, if you want to do any milling, it is worth every penny!

Hi Shasmi, I Guess you bought the dry container too, 1. Is it really Grinding a small spoon of flax or cumin or pepper? I had read a review saying it just blows to top of jar and we need minimum a cup or two of ingredients. 2.Which container is much more efficient in making idly/dosa batter? wet or dry? 3.Also I would be regularly making a small qty of Ginger Garlic paste, is dry jar recommended for that? as wet needs minimum 2 cups of ingredients to pickup the load.
@shasmisree4 жыл бұрын
Yuvaraj Ravi, yeah grinding small quantity of seeds is very easy in the dry container, I have literally used quantity used for each meal and grinded and it’s always been perfect. Can you just buy dry blade rather than whole container?
@sashineb.21143 жыл бұрын
No. Each container has its own built-in blade system. The blades do not remove from the Vitamix containers as they do for other blenders (except for the smalll container that he used for coffee, or the blending cups and even then, the blade is part of the lid and does not separate.)

In addition to what Sashine B. said, the bowls and blades are designed to work together for the best results. Even if you could interchange them, you would not get the best results.
@HotVoodooWitch5 ай бұрын
@@GlennaVan actually, the containers of similar volume are identical; the blades make the difference. Regardless, you're not supposed to remove the blade assembly from the container unless it needs to be replaced.

@@HotVoodooWitch I did NOT say I removed the blades! I said the blades and bowls are designed to work together. To clarify, the shape of the grain bowl is different as is the blade. he says you CAN do it but with the wet container it'll destroy the aesthetic of the container by making it cloudy, which is 'damage' they don't cover under warranty because the container still works with full utility, it's just cosmetic damage only.
@GlennaVan2 жыл бұрын
@@SKRUBL0RD Perhaps if cloudiness is a problem the stainless steel container is the way to go. However, the best thing to do for milling is to have the dry container which is designed for that purpose.
@HotVoodooWitch5 ай бұрын
The dry container has been available since at least the 5000 and for all I know, the 4500 (no variable speed) as well. Back then, it was identical to the tall 64-oz. container (they show up on eBay). Once the 32-oz. container was introduced, the size of the dry container went to 32 ounces. The 48-oz. dry container came along with the introduction of the Ascent Series. Perhaps you''re thinking back to the days of the old Vita-Mixer 4000 and prior--one steel container with a spigot that was used for everything. The wet container isn't optimal for nut flours.
@HotVoodooWitch5 ай бұрын
@@SKRUBL0RD worse than that. If you're blending something with a strong odor, the odor will tend to get caught in the micro-etching. Best to have a dry container if you need to grind and make powdered sugar.
