Compared to other forced induction kits, they are all running 6-7 psi, and are yielding roughly the same power output. This is low boost, 115ºF weather, and terrible gas quality. 55HP increase is the lowest of lows for this kit. Cooler weather, higher octane rating, and a smaller pulley will deliver MUCH more power.

@vivid_racing4 жыл бұрын
Gearing would certainly help deliver the power more efficiently being as the 35's installed on this truck are adding a considerable amount of rotational mass. It is an automatic and we did these pulls in 3rd gear.

I am late to the post, but I want to express how happy I am now with my 2022 Tacoma SR5 4x4 Trail Edition V6 after the upgrades. I have spent a lot of money on the upgrades, this is a fact! I owned a 2008 Tundra for 14 years and loved it. I purchased this vehicle because it has a proven reliability record. Needless to say, when I had a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires installed within the first week. I was missing my Tundra and the power. As a result, I spent the money to make this truck a beast. I love everything about it now! The combination of all the mods is, SWEET! The "Magnuson Superharger" made the biggest difference. Because of "Bidenflation" it was just over 10k installed by my favorite shop, "Epic Offroad" in Lewisville, TX. 1. Magnuson Superharger 2. K&N Cold Air Intake 3. Pedal Commander 3. Flowmaster Tacoma FlowFX Dual Exhaust System with Black Tips Result: 375+ hp and 15 mpg avg.

3rd Gen Tacoma’s are always searching for gears. Gear change is definitely the way to go. I’m personally leaning more towards a supercharger over a turbo for that immediate power. Superchargers of course do put more stress on the engine over a turbo, but since Tacoma’s have a reputation for never dying I thought🤷🏽♂️
@Rhouzv3 жыл бұрын
These isnt a new thing for the Tacoma's. You used to be able to buy them as a dealer option as part of the TRD package but not many people bought them. So you buy them aftermarket now. Magnuson has been building S/C for toyota engines for awhile now, as long as you're following your normal maintance protocols and not bouncing it off the redline, it'll hold up.

Thank you guys so much for sharing the before and after numbers. It is a night and day difference with those gain in these V6 toyota trucks. But in the performance world, a 6k+ supercharged system only gain you 60ish whp is trash... comparing to throwing in a bigger cam shaft into a LS or Hemi engine where it only cost like 1 to 2k.... and easily got 60 to 100hp... I am blaming Toyota for making their engine hard to modify and only ways too gain real power on these newer engines is to boost it, which cost 5k+ for any blower.
@vivid_racing4 жыл бұрын
Reason parts for LS and Hemi are so cheap is because of how plentiful and interchangeable they are. Since this is considered a newer platform for Toyota there aren't very many aftermarket upgrades yet other than the big power adders like the Magnuson supercharger. Hopefully in the future there will be more aftermarket support for this platform. They can sure take a beating though considering they have forged rods from the factory.

Quality product, its a shame toyota robbed us of .5 L this would have made so much more sense with the 4.0L from a supercharger application

Super sick video. Curious if super charging with the Magnuson affect the longevity in any type of way with the tacos that you seem over the years?
@jasontodd11413 жыл бұрын
aye man get the procharger its wayyyyy better and has better gains. This one is great but your engine heats up the supercharger unlike a procharger that works more efficiently

Yeah I had an awesome supercharged Tacoma TRD. Problem is it got worse fuel mileage than my full-size power stroke pulling a trailer. Not always the best answer sometimes it’s just better to get a big truck. Sorry
@UpToSpeedOnJaguar2 жыл бұрын
I agree. I wouldn't say this kit is for those looking to tow more, but for those wanting a faster truck in a smaller package. A diesel medium or heavy duty truck will always be the best for towing while getting best fuel mileage.

Do they have a supercharger for a 2008 4Runner? I am thinking not.

Unfortunately, Magnuson only makes a kit for 1996-2002 and 2010-2019 models

Magnuson uses OV tool to flash as it requires a custom tune

I just bought the injen Evolution Cold Air Intake. Will it be compatible with the supercharger?
@vivid_racing3 жыл бұрын
Depends if the Magnuson intake inlet is at the same location as factory so you may have to use the specific intake that is provided with the kit if not!
