Whew! What a relief to see a brand new Viveo tonight. We are stuck at the RV repair place. It was 100 out today, and 89 INSIDE this RV. Sweating gumdrops and sitting in my underwear for awhile! Jerry is always outside working on something. I don't know HOW he breathes. My favorites are the pretty ombre with the border print. LUCIOUS! And then the last one for the lake house. Super fun print with the boats that have flowers on the sails! I would have bought that if I had seen it. Super cute. I'm sure you will love sewing all that up, and we will love seeing you model it even more! You should have shown everyone that AMAZING zipper, but then you would really have to do a tutorial. (-:

I wish I could hire you to help me match my patterns and fabric. My fabric stash is way ahead of my actual sewing. It is quite a dilemma to pair up these things. I change my mind ten times a minute, get fabric out, iron it and then put it away. Right now I can't wait to feel better after a face-lift a week ago. It is a reward for losing all the weight I needed to lose and right now I look scary. I would like to go out to dinner in a different dress each week and make elegant pants and tops to wear in the day. Life is good and getting more fun. Thanks for sharing your skills. I really enjoy and appreciate that.

Thank you once again for your positivity and honest opinions. I always take away something from your videos Viv. Today it was the templates for buying materials. The times I've not had enough material and then purchased way too much and had surplus. Because I have bought it before purchasing a pattern. 🤔 you would think I would learn my lesson. But as I've always dipped in and out of sewing I forget how to order. Nowadays I'm more focused... Hopefully and more dedicated to the craft. Thanks again can't wait to see your June makes .

Hi Viv, years ago, I made one garment at a time, choosing the fabric after the pattern, but nowadays, with a tiny stash of fabric and a few patterns, I can still take way too long to decide! Hopeless! I guess what I’m getting at is it’s very helpful seeing your thought processes on the subject. They are all lovely fabrics, but I’m looking forward to seeing the border print made up! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕

Hi Viv...I'm so glad I saved this video to watch today. It has been a very low evening and your cheerful smile and optimism for future sewing projects is contagious and just what I needed. It always amazes me how in tune you are to pair pattern styles and fabric choices to make garments that absolutely flatter your figure and personality. And your tenacity to take a troublesome outcome and turn it into a success is an inspiration. Thank you for the link to the waistband info, I'll be sure to watch it. I'm contemplating making a gown for Joy's challenge but haven't had the best luck matching pattern size to my size lately. Well, for a lounge gown I guess it doesn't matter so much so long as it isn't constricting, haha.

I just love the fabric with the border, pale top and pink sections. That will just be georgous no matter what you make. My sewing is at a snail's pace, about one at the most two things a month but that beats no sewing. I just finished a Summer dress and got started on the vintage Vogue pattern out of the same fabric (I cut them out at the same time). Well I don't have a zipper for the pants and went to Hobby lobby and they are out of 7" orange zippers.......will have to wait to get those done. They are solid orange in a mid weight and have pleats and are longer. Was looking forward to wearing them with blue tops, maybe yellow or green as well.

I saw the Artisian dress and thought it would be a cute maternity dress for my daughter with a matching dress for her daughter, but after reading people talk about the difficulty of those corners at the top of the panel, I just put a seam straight across the top of the panel. I’m playing catch-up! You might know I fell again - this time in the bedroom. I’m so short I have a makeshift step to step on as I get off our bed which is pretty talk (adjustable bed). So I was folding towels and wash cloths, got up, stepped on the step, and it went sliding across the hardwood floor! The step, BTW, is the old platform thingie (don’t know the correct name) for the old WII game the grands used to play! David has now secured it to the floor with carpet tape! Oh, girl, if there’s a way to fall, I’ll find it! Ha! Anyway, hurt my foot and knee, but nothing was broken. We have fixed the slick floor in the kitchen where my previous falls were located. I ordered a runner to go between the island and the cabinets. The tile which is not really meant to be slick is slick to me, and the runner really works well! Enough about me! Loved your tips in this video - your ideas about pairing fabric and patterns makes perfect sense. I usually know what I want to do with a fabric when I purchase it, too. Somehow it just works! Now, to catch up!!! 😍

When you held up the gray coral ombre with border my mind shouted out-- kimono!!! I'd make a wrap with it to utilize the print in its totality. The garment seems to need to be flowy like an asymmetrical drapey top if not a kimono. Love the fabric and it'll look fab with the charcoal pants. Thanks for the link and the motivation to keep sewing.

I love your outfit you have on! I do the same thing about knowing which cats gory a fabric will be best in. Sometimes I purchase a pattern and fabric together. Most of the time, I hit pattern sales and find the fabric later. You seem to have great luck with buying fabrics online. This past year, I did more fabric purchasing on line, but not always happy with the quality. I guess that’s something you’ve learned over the years. I’m more of as see it feel it, “yes, get this” kind of gal! Again, I loved your zebra print! Cheyl
