I think the most underrated art tip is simply to create art, no matter what. Embrace the imperfections in every stroke and line, knowing that not every drawing will be perfect. Understand that you are always evolving as an artist, continually honing your craft. I still struggle with this, and it can be incredibly hard, but you should be proud of your successes. Doing art is a skill that not many possess. So go on try!!

I think my interests (shows, video games) inspired me. Like once I joined the OSC community, I started seeing this banger art , which always amazes me how people can draw such beautiful art pieces with just objects with limbs. And then I would say my second inspiration was the Undertale/deltarune fandom. There's so many beautiful art pieces, comics, and animations that inspire me so much. Also an honourable mention is my mom. I don't think she knows that I draw talking goats and skeletons, but she still supports me. Most of the time she doesn't even know what I'm drawing, but she likes seeing that I enjoy drawing so she compliments me which honestly makes me so happy.
@Doodleof874 ай бұрын
Yeah, cartoons and video games were what inspired my art and myself, I don't really have much to say about it, doing experiments once in a while. I've obviously lost inspiration and creativity because of school and the state of the internet, but I still keep going. Alright, I'ma shut my mouth so I don't bore you. 🫡

THIS! I'm in the OSC as of now and what you say about the beautiful art pieces with just objects with limbs is something I so often think about. What inspires me to create is the ability to express myself without words or descriptions or yk, since i do struggle expressing my emotions sometimes, from crying uncontrollably and not knowing how to talk to someone to not being able to cry at all, so art is sort of like a different way of speaking who i am without having to say words. and also tbh, so many things in life are beautiful and inspire me so much as well. it’s something that makes me and others really happy, and i also want to inspire others with my art. anyways loving the new video viyaura >:)
@Lunaofthenight4 ай бұрын
yeah- same! expressing emotions through art can be helpful for ur mental health. and i just like to look around me for new inspirations, such as nature and buildings and explore new styles to draw. it helps me focus on things i actually like. after i am done drawing i feel fresh and so much more energetic. i try to show my art to others to seek validation from them aswell. but after i get critisized OBVIOUSLY i feel sad but then i take it as a challenge to become better. and if i make it better, it just makes me happier. i do it for myself and to help me in growing and sharing my emotions. not with people but with art. edit: got a little carried away there- SORRYY LOL😅💗

A take: Try different brushes! For me its underrated Trying different brushes may actually help you to get more creative ideas before because we cant draw everything by using only one specific brush. Using new brushes will help you to understand how you might improve yourself and if you're lucky you can actually start drawing backgrounds easier! Just open a empty canvas and start experimenting with brushes,draw anything you want,fill the canvas and uh i guess have fun

I personally get inspired to create pretty much only through input from others. I love visualizing the ideas others have, I love drawing other peoples characters from a reference in my own art style and I love drawing all the ideas me and one of my best friends have when obsessing over any fictional character. So it comes down to being inspired by friends, (small!) art communities and commissions. I have found that larger art communities often make you feel unseen if you don't already have a following or are extremely skilled. I personally recommend art discord groups that focus on a topic that you like. To me it's mostly been ARPGs.

Usually the weirdest situations inspire me to create something great! Like if I am just playing Gacha club and remember lyrics to a song I immediately come up with a completely unrelated character😂😂. But I also like to have other people tell me about some character they came up with and I’ll just be seeing what I think it looks like. For example if they tell me about something that happened when I wasn’t there I immediately visualize what I think it looked like, ITS UNCONTROLLABE😂😂

I’m 100% not great at drawing humans, so my favourite thing in the world is free use art poses. It forces me to entertain the idea of different styles, and also gives me that hand movement you mentioned, I can now kinda remember it and make it again (kinda) without the pose. My people have gotten better because of it, and I can appreciate everything else I put onto the person after using that base. Definitely has helped me realise what styles I enjoy, and how simple my bases can be while still explaining who I’m drawing. Absolutely nothing wrong with using them, I’m just careful to use the ones that say they’re good for being used as bases and aren’t just base ideas. Don’t wanna step on anyone’s toes. If I’m drawing on paper I always draw super tiny, which has led to me being able to draw on my fingernails and come up with cool designs that I couldn’t make otherwise. There’s always a spot for art, but always feel free to try out different things without any remorse. If you didn’t do so well at that thing, well maybe you haven’t drawn like that before, and that’s okay. You’re just at square 2. (For those of you who see a drawing that isn’t as high quality as you’d like as failure, I suggest you see it instead as an opportunity, do you want to embrace these things that make it a “lesser quality” or do you want to try and remove them? That’s something only you can answer) TL/DR: I drew hooman bad, use free art bases, can draw hooman kinda good now. I draw tiny, fingernails fun to draw on. Mistakes are a new choice, keep or don’t? You choose that.

I like the “trying knew art styles”, there are people that i know who i think draw extremely well. One of then even taught me their style and i loved it! I slowly started to adjust the style and now i make art that i love, and i use a style that i can call my own!

Imo, if you're just drawing for yourself and as a hobby, I don't even think you have to worry about all of this. I draw as a hobby, and it made me less inspired to do art with how I was worrying about everything, lol. But yeah, if you want to take art seriously, then go ahead.

It ticks me off what you call a "sketch". If I could make it that level of work without making at least 3 sketches of it before hand, then maybe I'd do art more often. You're such an amazing artist and so humble about it, maybe a little too humble. I'm yapping here but it's okay to admit how great your art is.

A great wide ranging, thought provoking video! The Zen of illustrative creativity! Thanks! Myself, I limit myself to one reviewer, a long time friend who teaches art. My novel illustrations get put aside for at least one day, with multiple musings, then they get a much needed touch up. That works for me. With my landscape, space scenes, or wildlife paintings it’s different, they get stared at for at least a week. Sometimes longer. True Art is a temporal process, AI is simply putting white bread in a toaster! POP, there it is! Done!

Im gonna try a different artstyle. Im going to colour a character in different colourful neon colours and then shade and blend it, but the shading and blending will be the OPPOSITE colours of the base colours.

Lots of good ideas, glad I subbed. Not once did you prescribe an exact way of doing something as a superior or correct way. You have no idea how much that means to someone like me who spun their wheels for years too anxious to draw because I was worried about doing the wrong thing instead of finding my own solutions to problems.

Hot Take: As an art kid running a channel with a non- art kid, yes, if someone asks you to draw something for them do it. I know the "can you draw meee? 🥺" from random people gets annoying, but if it's your friend, who knows? Get yourself out there, it's good practice! -Star

If you are starting out and want to try tracing without a lighthouse or tech. Grave a sheet of clear plastic and use a white board pen on it. Easy to wipe clean and reuse 👍☕ Great video thanks
@DeuxViews2 ай бұрын
Idk i keep maintaining tracing is not good on anything, like that "it helps to you know where put your hand" is so "imma use Training wheels in a bicycle competition training because it helps you stay balanced" and when the competition starts you have 0 idea how to do it without them
@stetson_newsie26002 ай бұрын
I would challenge this by saying this does not equate to a bicycle competition. Someone who is at the beginning of their art journey does not need to worry about being at a competitive level yet. It is much closer to a younger child learning to ride a bike. Eventually you want to take off those training wheels, but in art it's a bit different as well. Riding a bike is more like one skill. Art is much more broad. You might take off those 'training wheels' for one art technique, but still have them on for others you haven't learned yet.
@DeuxViews2 ай бұрын
@@stetson_newsie2600 is not about being competitive, its about doing thinks by yourself, you can watch 1000 youtube tutorials to learn how to do anything but if you never do it that will not happen, just like tracing, you can say is helpful but if your only way to learn is tracing then its not a way to learn, its a excuse, also even tho if someone does it to learn, without posting it or saying is he own drawing, it can help but just like how to handle the pen to do differents lines, longer shorter bla bla, but there's better and more efficient ways to learn it

skipping a day or two in the week or taking a short break if I'm busy with something else makes me miss drawing, helps a lot with motivation
