Blues fan here, first vid of yours I've watched. Thought you got most of it pretty spot on, the club's been in decline for years and years, we've used miracles to avoid the drop before, and to be fair I'm just glad when we did finally go we went under these owners. People will look at the Rooney decision and make their own minds up, but for blues fans it's more positive than it's been for most of my memory as an early 20's fan. Okay, Brady is mostly a figure for promotion and exposure as much as I can tell, and okay, the new stadium complex would be amazing but ambitious, but if we look outside of that, we've got plenty of reasons to be positive: 1) They've already invested £30m into the infrastructure at the stadium and training grounds. The stadium needed the stands repairing, but to say they gave it a lick of paint is an understatement. They did do that, but also completely ripped out the reception, turned several boxes into an top class bar for hospitality, revamped the home dressing room completely, and completely changed the outside of the kop stand to look really good now. I could list all the things they've done but it'd be a book, and this summer it'll rise to around £55m invested in infrastructure with work already underway to fix the PA system, add in wifi, re-do a load of the hospitality, create a new bar under the kop, create two fanzones outside the ground and more. This all, by the way, for a ground they plan to leave in the next 5-7 years. 2) They've recognised the importance of the fans, putting on ticket offers when possible (both Norwich and Coventry at home were basically £15 a ticket anywhere in the ground), they continue to put money behind bars around the ground at home but even on some away days too. They've opened up supporters clubs to allow fans a voice and opportunities to meet people at the club like the CEO, play on the pitch at St Andrews, etc. And they've put on quarterly "Open House" meetings for a reduced number of fans to attend and see their plans for the club unveiled (this is where the stadium news was announced). These are also streamed in their entirety free for all fans to watch. 3) They've massively increased the revenues of the club from what they were, recognising that the old owner's approach of cutting costs was killing the club where they focused on increasing revenue. This is included in big sponsorship deals with Undefeated, an american streetwear brand (that now also sells some mint Blues merch), and the Knighthead parent company to invest up to almost £10m a year on the FFP books depending on social media impressions (works great when you have someone like Tom Brady on board and Paik Seung-Ho playing for you drawing plenty of impressions from Korean fans). They said recently that (had we stayed in the league) we were on track to have the highest revenues in the championship outside of parachute payment clubs by the end of next season, allowing us to spend more on higher quality players. 4) Finally, as I know this is a long read, they publicly recognised their mistake in timing when sacking Eustace to appoint Rooney, and vowed to "never disrupt positive momentum ever again". In fact, this question was raised at the open house and they could've ignored it but actively chose to respond to it and own their mistake. They also noted the improvements to the process of making such decisions in an effort to never repeat a mistake like that. We may have gone down, but we have every reason in the world to be optimistic about the future under our owners, beyond the flashy headlines.

The thing is too. Relegation could potentially be a great thing for them. They've got a chance to rebuild, and come back stronger. Sure, not everyone can have that. But it'll give a chance of Blues to rebuild, and get better. Just look at Ipswich, they spent years in the Championship, got relegated, and now they're in the PL. Again, not all stories end good. Great video Liam, Its refreshing to see someone actually do their research when discussing us and our recent history. I've been a blues fan since 2010, My first full season was the League Cup winning season, One of the best moments of my life coinciding with relegation and since then its been an absolute chore to support my football club. These owners have been absolutely fantastic, Clearing our over £100 million worth of debt, Investing £20 million rebuilding St Andrews alone and we've seen and heard more from them this season than we ever did from the previous ownership, Their one mistake in sacking John Eustace ended up being a costly one, however, I truly believe they'll take us to where they want us to go and if that means a season in league one so be it. I'm not going to be as silly as to underestimate league one and think we'll walk it but I'm looking forward to potentially finishing above 17th for once. One thing on Rooney, He seemed to listen to the vocal minority that were against him and ignored the thousands chanting his name every week. He really didn't help himself, Calling out players publicly, not even acknowledging our fans home or away and I don't feel the need to address the 2 wins in 15. I personally loved him as a player and was desperate for him to succeed, cause why would we want your own manager to do well. Great video once again and KRO.
@wmyates177 ай бұрын
As a blues fan I refute the claim that we didn’t accept Rooney, and I’ve been very annoyed with his quotes in the press since suggesting he deserved more time etc. After a rocky start, the board asked for patience and we saw one or two moments of it clicking, and the crowd largely got behind him and the team. It was another 11/12 games after that request for confidence when the fans started turning on him because we’d seen nothing to be hopeful about, and we were fast approaching the transfer window. Additionally, It was only really the last game where they chanted Rooney out for everyone to hear.

About Birmingham's relegation to League One, the owners really have to take the blame for themselves, no doubt about that. However, I think what cost them at the end was the two draws away from home against Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town. If you look at their home record this season, they are 9th out of 24 teams with 36 points, but away from home was terrible, just 14 points out of the possible 69 (23rd in the away table). To think they got relegated with 50 points is mental. The 6th team ever in the Championship era to suffer relegation despite getting 50+ points. We actually go from Bolton Wanderers just surviving in the Championship 2017/18 with just 43 points to Birmingham City suffering relegation in the Championship 2023/24 with 50 points.

Remember having fun 30 years ago as a kid when we were this low…BRING IT ON. Say what you want about Rooney, but our impressions went through the roof!!!

Birmingham to bounce back up in style. Theyve just bought Jay Stansfield for 10m+ for a league 1 team lol. A Record to show they mean business.

I am west Bromwich Albion fan, and to be honest I think the blues board dropped a massive mistake by taking on Wayne Rooney. I have tried to understand how they could sack eustace after the blues battered us 3-1. But sadly they have been at the bottom of the championship for a number of years. Maybe it will be a good thing the club, as they can refocus and rebuild

It's sad. At the start of the season, Birmingham were doing well and I thought it might be their year. Then they fired their manager and appointed Wayne Rooney for some reason. They never recovered, it's sad for the fans but the board brought this upon themselves.

Can't imagine what Tom Brady is thinking Probably the greatest winner in the history of sports considering positional value, taking historically bad teams to titles, and success compared to other teams in their entire histories The most losing he ever did was winning a division championship and went a decade where the most losing he did was while playing for the eventual world champions who got a bye that year so the title wasn't a shock

They are fucked. League 1 is a different beast to the Champ. More physical and direct. If Wagner wants to play tippy-tappy pretty ‘no fear football’ (what ever the fuck that means) then they’ll get rolled. League 1 requires ugly

I can’t lie, the season we went down is probably my favourite championship season.

Good analysis Viz. been watching for years and I’m not one to usually comment but I had to as it’s my club 🤣 I really cannot believe how bipolar my club is. How we’ve managed to get relegated after all the new ownership hype is literally typical Blues. I agree with you that a season in League One could hopefully be the reset we need and get momentum and actually go on winning runs for once 😅 P.S also honestly when’s our Netflix show coming it would be so entertaining! 😂

Only positive from Birmingham's collapse this season was it distracted from Notts County falling in the same way this season

*For the size of birmingham city and the lack of success we've had* *a lot of blues fans see this relegation as a chance to win matches* *and bounce around as the big dogs*

Friendly reminder: Birmingham City have won a major trophy more recently than Tottenham or Everton.

Birmingham City still remain the only West Midland Club to have won a major trophy this century, and in the whole of the midlands the only other club to have won anything is Leicester City.

The last 13 years have been hell as a bluenose and the relegation to league 1 is truly heartbreaking. I completely get that from an outsiders perspective it’s hard to understand but I do stand behind our new owners and I do truly believe they will do us justice. The last owners did not care about the game they were criminals and let us rot. Tom Wagner has an uphill battle ahead of him but this is the most bit of positivity we have had in over a decade. Watch this space

Problem is if they fail to get promoted next season the new owners will likely sell up. They have bought a business they don’t understand

Hi dude new to your channel as a Bluenose yeah relegation inevitable as mistakes were made that we all know about Hugely excited about the next few years I truely believe we will get promoted next season as squad investment will be huge as no longer under ffp As for the new stadium its the right thing to do as it will bring massive investment and revenue to the club and to be successful you need this , look at Luton , Sheffield United and Burnley KRO
