That's a really smart looking shoe. As I am evaluating trying Online shopping for the first time your comments on finding a comfortable fit were very interesting. I wear an 8.5EEE and in Australia they are becoming hard to find. While RMRS has grown it's subscribers base, it has become more of a Fashion Magazine format. Which is not a criticism, but that leaves room in the marketplace for channels that are more tightly focused. As the underlying Carrier technology is my area of Global expertise, I am not qualified to comment on the rapidly changing KZbin marketplace, but as a top flight Sales and Marketing Director, with decades of Global experience, with the World largest Multinational Corporations, I well know that it is easier to survive, when the competition increases, if the business is a tightly focused structure, because it takes a lot of man-hours to become proficient in a Generalist business. Enjoyed watching at 3am on Wednesday in Australia because your joy in presenting it gave it the most sparkle of any of the YT videos I have seen. Now I am going back to bed Lol.!!! Phil.

Gorgeous shoes! I saw that RMRS video pop up just after you did yours. I wondered if he had copied you, but I don't think so. His video was very different, and included a bunch of different budgets. 750 was his lowest budget. But his video also just gave you a breakdown of how much money to spend on each item depending on your budget, rather than actually telling you where you could buy that item for that price. I liked that your video gave specific brands to buy from. That's way more helpful.

First off, Yeossal looks like they do great work! They look amazing Vlad! I need to get on them soon. Maybe around November. The spade sole is interesting. Singapore has amazing sartorial entrepreneurs. You know I love Vanda, as well Dylan & Son's already cut some material to make me a SC whenever I can out of the Middle East for a week. And now Yeossal, I think some chukkas maybe in order. BTW, when we mention you to them, is it some sort discount or something? Stay fresh. Think about doing some ensemble shots while telling what you are wearing. Just a suggestion.
@v_r_3 жыл бұрын
What’s good, Primo? Speaking of Vanda, I’m slowly creeping towards my free tie 😂😂. You’re so right about Singapore, they don’t come up in the sartorial conversation much but maybe they should. Thanks for watching and showing love as always.

Word, thanks for sharing, man...I'm on the group order with you on the pie crust aprons, so this is some great insight on their quality, etc. Two things: 1) I think the spade sole style to lends itself to definitely wear with suits, maybe almost exclusively...seems like mostly a formal cut option to me...(and I think I'd only one pair with that cut, too) and 2) I was quite surprised that these are the only shoes in your current collection with a medallion - do you generally not like them? Thanks again (and I see you still got the ring on in the video, so although the background beat was thumping in my living room, I knew you weren't in the club! LOL)
@v_r_3 жыл бұрын
Haha...come off like wedding rings in night clubs, bro 😂😂. I would say spade soles only work with Oxfords IMO. I like them but not sure it’s something I would get again as I don’t really like things that stand out too much. My wife was like I’ve never seen that on your shoes before, not really my style. As far as medallions, I’d say it’s just a coincidence as I do like them.

@@v_r_ , for sure. You're just giving me that shoe envy though. More power to you, if nothing else it gives us good content. I used to say the only shoes I'd buy that are RTW and more expensive than Carmina are Crockett and Jones (and maybe 1 pair of Gaziano and Girling), but now....I have to add Y by Yeossal. But that's it though, I have to draw the line somewhere. One can only have sooo many RTW goodyear welted shoes, famous last words (I already have 12)...........so anything over $670 and I'll just save that money and buy bespoke (either in Spain from Ramon Cuberta or an independent maker in England - good excuse to travel too) lol.

Check out Antonio Meccariello, Paolo Scafora, Stefano and Mario Bemer plus Wayman Bespoke.
@alexnw60503 жыл бұрын
@@Blast20nx Thanks for the suggestion. From what I've seen Ramon Cuberta and Nicolas Templeman both seem to be makers I gravitate towards, both in style and personality (something I think is important in bespoke shoes). Definitely impress by Stefano Bemer and Mario Bemer, and Paolo Sacfora. I think I lean heavily towards Ramon Cuberta because I have reasons to go to Spain every couple of years, and after meeting him, he's just a great human being. Appreciate the recommendations though, so many great makers out there.

@@v_r_ Thanks for the reply! S&M is pretty unbeatable in this price range, especially since I got the suit for only $260 down from $450. It's the end of the season so they're on the last of their sizes but if I find something I'll lyk how they are. Take it easy and stay safe.

Hey Vladimir, Loving the coverage of Yeossal right about now. I have a question: based on my calculations, the Split Toe Derby on MTO weighs in at $950 or £725 including lasted shoe trees and import/customs duty to the UK. Does this represent good value or should I be looking somewhere else?. Thanks and keep up the great work!
@v_r_3 жыл бұрын
What’s up, Anil? Reading those numbers sound very high but that’s only because I always see things in USD with no VAT. But all things being considered, if you’re looking for a nice SpTD that’s handwelted and you can pick every detail and leather that you want, I’d say Yeossal is a great value.

Beautiful shoes! I have some coming. I have one question about Goodyear vs. Hand welting. I know I can take my Good year shoes to any competent shoe shop and they can perform any kind of maintenance. I have GY shoes that are 12 years old and look wonderful. If you buy Fukudas for $2.5 k, it's well worth it to send your shoes back to Japan for maintenance or hand them off to Fukuda-San when he comes to NYC. But what's the end game for all your HW shoes? It's not worth sending a pair of $600 shoes back to China - or is it?. Have you thought through what you're going to do when you need repairs? Do you think you can have a regular shoe shop work on that kind of construction? HW is great and all the rage, but the lore of GY shoes is how easy it is to even resole them 10 times or more. Let me know your thoughts on this. Finally, can you do a video on these say, 6 moths, 9 months and a 1 year later. Although I'll have my own, I'd like to see how they wear over time, which is the real test of a shoe. My dad always says "all shoes look beautiful when you take them out the box for the first time". He is old school and doesn't trust shoes made outside of NorthHampton, Japanese trained in NorthHampton and maybe some of Europe. I'll break him out of that tho with these when I get them - hahaha Anyway, your shoes look great. Keep the videos coming!! We love you, bro!
@v_r_3 жыл бұрын
Great comment, J N and I love y’all too btw. My understanding is there are some cobblers in NYC that can resole the shoes using the handwelted method. I haven’t figured out the cost yet though. I’m thinking that since my rotation is pretty good and my collection is only growing, I won’t have to resole any of my shoes anytime soon but only time will tell. And shoutout to your pops, he’s 100% right about the true test is when you’re able to wear the shoes for a little while. I will make some follow up videos in the future.
