--------
Dominick Cicale shared the extraordinary tactics employed by Mafia boss Joe Massino, marking a historic turn in the Mafia underworld. As the first Mafia boss to ever wear a wire, Massino's cooperation with federal prosecutors was unprecedented. He was facing a life sentence after being convicted of multiple homicides and sought a strategy to negotiate leniency. Cicale recounted how Massino deceived both his own men and the prosecutors by fabricating a plot to assassinate the federal prosecutor in his case. Massino planted the idea that Vinny Basciano, another high-ranking Mafia member, was orchestrating the hit, provoking federal concern and creating leverage for himself. Massino's calculated move misled prosecutors into accepting him as a key cooperating witness, despite his failing a lie detector test.

Joe was smarter than all of them. He rebuilt the family into one of the strongest and he wasn't going to do life, when all around him had ratted and destroyed everything.

It's hard to believe that Vinny would talk about those things while in prison. Vinny destroyed himself he should have automatically known there was a reason the prison put him and Joey together. Did Vinny actually think that the prison was doing him a favor putting him together with joey. Carlo Gambino was the smartest of them all

The restaurant the prosecutor liked was Campagnola btw, this is public knowledge. Vinny shouldn't be free lol but the way Massino took advantage of his respect for authority was disgusting. 25+ years of putting your life on the line to protect this guy and he does this to you.
