Part 8: • Big Gipp: LA Was All I...
Part 10: • Big Gipp on Linking w/...
Part 1: • Big Gipp: I Grew Up Mi...
--------
In this clip, Big Gipp discussed the ups and downs he faced as a member of Goodie Mob and as an independent solo artist following the release of Goodie Mob’s second album, “Still Standing.” Big Gipp described how influx everything was when Babyface and LA Reid sold Laface leaving the group “without a base.” He also opened up about trying to find a landing spot for the group and how everyone was upset with CeeLo based on how he left the group at the time.
Later, Big Gipp talked about how his hit single with Sleepy Brown, “Steppin’ Out,” potentially inspired Big Boi and Sleepy Brown to make “I Like the Way You Move” after playing the track for him before it was released. He also recalled around the same time being in the studio recording with Goodie Mob who had recently reunited when CeeLo received the beat for “Crazy” produced by Danger Mouse, and CeeLo laying down his vocals in one take. Big Gipp said the CeeLo was off to London the next day after Danger Mouse had it played on the radio in the UK, thus forming Gnarls Barkley. Gipp said he didn’t end up seeing CeeLo again for five years after that record took off.

much respect to Gipp. I was raised off Goodie/Mob and Outkast...Gipp is giving us the PG-13 version....Us real Goodie Mob fans know it was A LOT of tension between the group when CeeLo left....things were said in magazines and diss songs were made

I think Gipp just like to hear his self talk. I grew up in the south and ain’t no games in ga was way bigger than than we don’t dance no mo. I never even heard that song until spitta rapped off that beat on return to the winner circle. Goodie Mob first album is what everybody fucked with. Their second album not so much. Plus Pastor Troy and 3 6 was killin it at this time.

I dont know why VLAD would even throw out there that Big stole his sauce and or The way you move sounded like Gipps Steppin out...when Bigs song sounds more like Sleepy Browns own song "I can't wait"....the fact he was on all 3 with the simular sauce should be attributed to Sleepy himself as well as Rico and Stankonia....its a dungeon thang mayne!!!....tsk tsk Vladimir...I was hoping Gipp corrected him but he went along with it 🤷🏾‍♂️
