A good packing tip when you are at this point is to put a post-it on whichever cabinets/drawers still have items in them. When you empty the drawer/cabinet you remove the post it. It keeps you from having to constantly re-check cabinets.

When I feel overwhelmed by things like packing I do get a sense of “calm” from looking in empty drawers, cabinets and closets from time to time - I think it gives me some level of assurance that I am actually making progress and getting things done! Similarly, when I make a “to-do” list I include a few things that I have already finished just for the visual of some things being crossed off! 😄

My packing tip is too late, I’m sure, but it might come in handy later. When you are packing items that are in an open container (such as eating utensils in a tray or a desk drawer organizer full of office supplies), leave the items in the container, wrap a layer or two of Press ‘n Seal all the way around the container and pack in the box. When you get to the new location, just unwrap and place the full container in the drawer. Press ‘n Seal is even good to wrap around a closed container to keep the lid from coming loose and items spilling out.

Hope you read this on time and it is helpful. Quick tip: Maybe not super aesthetic but in order to transport the clothes in hangers use trash bags, the big ones. Go from bottom to top of the clothes and tie up on the top of the hangers if that makes sense or you can also make a hole on the bottom of the trash bag and put the hangers tru it. This way the bag would still open at the bottom for easy access. This might help you saving money because we all have trash bags at home 👍

I just thought of this while you were showing all your pictures / souvenirs and I’m not sure if you did this already or not. It’s just a suggestion! You should label where you got each picture with a favorite memory from that trip with the date you took the trip. Just an idea for when you have kids. It can help remind you of those small details you might forget along the way 😊❤

I was divorced around the same age, and for eerily similar reasons. I was able to get into my own apartment after some time and moving out a year later was VERY emotional. it was the first place that was all mine and that I accomplished alone. It felt like I was giving that up in a way. I learned quickly that feeling wasn’t in the apartment, it was mine, I had built it within myself and I took it with me ever since. Hi Michel! If you are looking to travel to the Pacific Northwest again, one of my favorite places to go is Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. It is a beautiful, charming little seaside town, with a variety of lovely shops, art galleries, restaurants, and coffee shops. It is right on a beach and there are many other beaches and trails nearby that are worth exploring. My favorite hotel to stay in is Cannon Beach Hotel. It is a boutique hotel within walking distance of the beach and downtown, with a beautiful lobby and breakfast room. The rooms are simply perfect. Elegantly decorated, with a warm, cozy and inviting feel (antique furniture, four poster bed, claw foot bathtub, gas fireplace, etc.). The outside of the hotel reminds me of Coastal New England and Maine architecture with grey shingle siding and white trim. A few places to see while there: Cannon Beach Chocolate Cafe (coffee shop) Jeffery Hull Gallery (a local artist with stunning painting of the Oregon Coast. Many prints offered would be small enough for your future gallery wall) The Butler Did It Antique Shop Cannon Beach Museum Haystack Rock (a few minutes walk away.) Hug Point (beach with a waterfall.) Cape Falcon Trailhead (a short walk through the woods leads to a cove with tide pools and a waterfall.) Tillamook Rock Lighthouse Viewpoint Trail (within Ecola State Park.) Cape Meares Lighthouse (a bit of a drive south, but worth it.) Tunnel Beach (near Cape Meares Lighthouse.) Seaside, Oregon (another nice town just north of Cannon Beach)

Cannon Beach is really fun! Lots of iconic photo spots, Tilly lighthouse lookout, etc. I definitely recommend! The Oregon coast is wild and rocky - love it! Also adore the dunes at Pacific City. Honestly so many of the Oregon coast towns are wonderful and charming. I only live an hour away but don't get out there nearly enough!

I just wanted you to know you should hand wash Max's bowls. If the melamine gets scratched or dinged bacteria can grow in the crevice and cause health issues. It happened to my dog. The vet said they're safe as long as they're hand washed. You also can't microwave them. Melamine isn't safe to microwave. Again this is all coming from my vet. I just wanted you to know so you could keep an eye on them. I forgot to say. My vet told me to avoid melamine and plastics in general and to use stainless steel ones. It's the safest material.
