The Women's Aid stats were that 25% of women had experienced DA, and 50% of disabled women. That is a LOT of women.

Hurt people, hurt people!. They are broken the perpetrators and the roots of why needs to be addressed! Dysfunctional family?, not learnt to manage anger or stress in a healthy way? Etc. What ever the root cause, this needs to be fixed in some way. Whether they accept they need help and refur themselves and I have worked with men who have. By the time they commit a crime, it's too late and they may end up in probation services or prison. We have been brought up in a society that teaches us that love hurts. I.e a parent smacking a child and isolating it for naughty behaviour. Love, rejects you. This is what we are programmed with from the get go. Yes mind sets need to change, society needs to change. Twenty years ago, I worked as an actress and I was hired by a theatre company who was hired by probation service to work with offenders. We also performed at a big conference Infront of judges, family mediators and social services to help them have a better understanding of donestic abuse. It's sad really to see things haven't changed much or progressed much in all of this time! More needs to be done because it is tragic for absolutely everybody involved with a victim of Domestic abuse. I cried listening to the clip of Georgia, how devastating but it is really positive she will be working with young people bringing awareness to this issue.

In is not just women that suffer and yet women get more help than men in more ways than one as I am a man and I have suffered and had no help what so ever
