1. Reading a book that has one of those quotes that you relate to so much and you think to yourself "Someone put that feeling into words!" and wanting that quote everywhere 2. Unironic sappiness 3. The feeling you get seeing someone who's company you enjoy smiling at you. 4. Finding a song by your favorite artist you hadn't heard 5. 1. When you start reading a book again after a long time and you suddenly remember the strong love you felt for some characters and their relationship. 2. When you gave a present a lot of thought and you can see the person opening it being overwhelmed. 3. Finally feel like what you do for a living is the perfect thing for you to do. 4. When I'm talking about Supernatural and the actors and the person I talk to just lets me be passionate about it and smiles and asks questions. 5. When people remember something you once said and turn it into a gift. 6. Just being all like WHOA THIS EARTH AND OUR BODIES AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS SO AWESOME! I've always really loved at some small parties, when my friends and I would just sit in a circle and talk very openly and discuss intimate things about ourselves. One of my favorite things in life at the moment.
@fossilfighters1019 жыл бұрын
Also, the fact that I can just call up my friend and, crying, go, "I need to stay at your place tonight because my brother's downstairs with his friends getting drunk and annoying and I won't be able to sleep with that," and her being like, "Sure." Or like talking to people you're sorta friends with and realizing that they're really nowhere near as monotone as you've made them out to be and enjoying their imperfections. And then getting teary as I read this comments section. Also, stupid girly high school flirting and having him flirt back and then giggling about it with your friends.

Many of these are also my favorite feelings. Another one: when you get to make someone you like a lot laugh. I love that. Also: when you and other people have been working towards something you all care about and you finally succeed and you're all like "YES" and get to be victorious together. That is also the best. Oh, and of course: coming home after a long day and seeing a new Vlogbrothers video has been uploaded. Hard to beat that feeling. :)
@Chouetterargentee9 жыл бұрын
I thought of a couple more. Hank mentioned figuring things out. Similar but slightly different/more specific: the moment when you finally understand something that has never quite made sense before. Like, the heart-racing OH MY GOD I GET IT moment? That happens in math class maybe? If you are exhausted by being social, the feeling of utter relief at being alone again. That feeling when music, er, swoops? ??? Being accepted, especially if it's something you've not been accepted for before.

One of my favorite feelings is having a deep meaningful talk with someone you like being with, just telling them those thoughts that had been stuck in your head for the last few days and you thought no one would ever know, plus the feeling of knowing that they understand you, or at least that they really listen to you, and they open up as well. I just came back from having one of those and it feels great. I wish I could have this more often, I don't wanna forget how it feels, but i guess the fact that this talks are so uncommon, is what makes them this great.

When you’re in an orchestra and you’ve just finished a piece and the violins still have their bows in the air and everyone’s watching the conductor who hasn’t put his arms down yet and there’s just this faint ringing from the last note between the music before and the applause after. That’s my favorite.

One of my favorite feelings is watching people open up a gift that I made specifically for them. I love giving gifts and seeing people open them. And on the flipside of that, getting a present that someone made or put a lot of work into just for me, since then its kind of like, you must really like me to put that much work into it, and it just makes me want to give back to them and spend more time with them. reconnecting with old friends. Laying in a hammock with nothing to do but read a book and maybe have a beer.

When you honestly, really help someone. When you see they're broken and you fix them and you enjoy it. When you push the right buttons because somehow you know what to do. And it works. And you feel like you can fly. When someone tries to hurt you and for once you have strength to be kind. When you don't do it to spite them, or to circumvent their assault by doing something unexpected. When you do it because you a strong right now and you are OK right now and you have the time. And you do it because you can.

Best feeling I've ever experienced: being accurately diagnosed with my mental illnesses after years of being told it was all in my head. The guilt and blame I carried around for not being able to function like everyone else was lifted from my shoulders. In all honesty, the first thing that comes to mind when I think about a favorite feeling has gotta be: - Falling in love with someone in a book... I may be a hopeless romantic in the fictional world, but the feeling when a really good part of a novel when you just start to really fall in love with that character and can't stop thinking about them is just... mm :) and also sometimes depressing... - When you have a friend that understands your references to the fandom you're in (marvel films and books etc) These are what comes to mind uncontrollably first thing, but when I think about it the most that makes me happy i guess, is: - When I really make my Mother proud
@nicolestewart28439 жыл бұрын
I AGREE! I love finding a fictional character to fall in love with. It may sound a bit unhealthy to some but no shame coming from this game. It is why I prefer TV shows to movies. If you love a character there is a lot more to watch! :) I am 31 and the way it makes me feel takes me back to my teenage years. It's definitely a very bittersweet feeling but I enjoy it.

the bad people thing is so very true. There was a girl who bullied and harassed me and one of my best friends to the point of almost ruining both of our lives. I hate her in a way I don't think I have ever hated someone before. But now that we're adults her life is falling apart and she's becoming more crazy and vicious and that small nasty part of me thinks she got what was coming to her, but mostly I just feel bad. Like, it's sad to see someone else have a terrible life, even if in some ways they deserve it. That's my message to younger nerdfighters who have bullies and wish bad things on those bullies. Those people might get what's coming to them and be miserable, but it won't make you feel better and it won't make what happened to you go away.

NotTotallyHopeless I know...I've watched people go really high and get lots of recognition and money knowing the whole time that they're awful but not knowing what to do about it, and then when they come crashing down I'm like "OH LOOK! ***** I feel like it's a sign you're growing up - retribution is less important. What becomes important is how messed up things are or aren't around you.

NotTotallyHopeless I think part the reason it feels awful is it's not like the person has learned anything. If the person who hurt you realized their mistakes and tried to be a better person that might feel ok. You might feel better about your past and hate her a little less. Nothing could undo what happened, but when a person admits their mistakes it can help heal the people they've hurt. It gives closure, if nothing else. As it is she made you feel bad and now she feels bad. No one is better off. Suffering is never a good thing.

I get this, all of it. Right now we are working to teach our children to not make rude comments about a meal, even if they don't like it. When you have a friend that you're ridiculously close to, and can *be* ridiculously close to without having to be romantic. You'd feel comfortable telling them anything, and you know that they like and appreciate you, and it feels so great to be around them because you always have so much fun and always feel so happy. Also when your dog comes up to you wanting nothing more than love, and you hug them and pet them, and their face is like "YES THANK YOU HUMAN I LOVE YOU" and the world is happy.

Ooh, and when you wake up in the morning but you can just lay there, and it's really easy to daydream because you're half-asleep, so you stay there for half an hour just fantasizing.

Fresh towels out of the dryer. Decluttering a space. Removing toxic people/things (obviously not like, radioactive, but like drama and all that) from your life and the weight that lifts from your shoulders with it. Getting a *really* good hug when you really need it. When my son is struggling with something and then gets it. That moment that you can see the connection made in his little mind and he solves the problem is just so good. Basically most things involving him are the best feelings for me, though.

that refrnce you didn't get in some conversation and it sticks in some corner of the mind until you learn that thing and understand refrnce after months or years later that oooo moment is so great

I love the feeling of taking a fresh baked loaf of bread out of the oven. Yeah, it's because I worked on that loaf. However, there's just something about baking that feels like magic (technically, it's chemistry). Anyway, when you cook something what you start with and what you end with can look pretty similar. When you bake, you take a bunch of powders, crystals, liquids and semi-solids and end up transforming them into bread. There's nothing like it.

When someone just straight up tells you what they like about you. Also telling someone what you like about them.

Things I 100% agree about: * Figuring out a complicated thing? YES. * Getting better at stuff: Heck yeah. * A respected person respecting me? BEST. Absolute best. * Plot threads --> tapestry? It's basically a braingasm! * Learning things? Delicious. Other feelings I love (all of which are pretty rare, at least for me): * Seeing a formerly bad person show concretely that he's become a better person * Great hugs that I know are sincere and heartfelt (but random hugs? meh.) * Finishing a major project (writing, drawing, whatever) and knowing I did a good job * Laughing a lot, especially with someone else * Being able to help someone with something that's really a problem for them * When physical things that weren't specifically designed to fit together (or in a space together, or whatever) fit just right * Probably lots more if I think hard enough, but that's enough for now. :-)

theoriginaledi I totally agree with the formerly bad person becoming a better person or learning from their mistakes. I was trying to include a version of that in my list, but was uncertain how to phrase it.

theoriginaledi I love the feeling of things fitting together that shouldn't. Probably why I spend so much time reorganizing by bookshelf to make everything fit. I call it "playing book Tetris"

Realising that you're basically living the closest approximation to the life you dreamt of living when you were much younger. Aaaaaah.

the57bears this is an encouraging comment given that I occasionally have to defend to other people, and especially to myself, the values of getting a film degree.

I really like the feeling when you've been working really hard on something and can't figure it out but then finally you figure it out and for a moment you feel like a genius.

I consider myself really lucky to have close friends. Talking with someone openly and without second guessing yourself, just being yourself around someone and just accepting each others quirks and weirdness is soooo great. Not a great deal of people do have this kind of relationship nowadays. :/

GKMcWhite I wish I had that. I mean, I do have it sometimes, but never 100%.

Listening to a song you haven't heard in a while and all of the good memories you associated with that song coming back. Getting a good grade on a test/project you worked really hard on. Finishing a research paper and being able to close all 15 tabs you had open for it. Knowing you've done something that made someone's day even just a little better. Dogs Fall Out Boy

I'm a musician, and having a performance go really well is such a great feeling. Like so great. I step off the stage feeling like I'm walking on golden clouds or something. It's so amazing, and so addictive.
