1. Reading a book that has one of those quotes that you relate to so much and you think to yourself "Someone put that feeling into words!" and wanting that quote everywhere 2. Unironic sappiness 3. The feeling you get seeing someone who's company you enjoy smiling at you. 4. Finding a song by your favorite artist you hadn't heard 5. Chasing waves at the beach and the water brushing your legs That's just five but there's so much more in life that I like the feeling of

1. When you start reading a book again after a long time and you suddenly remember the strong love you felt for some characters and their relationship. 2. When you gave a present a lot of thought and you can see the person opening it being overwhelmed. 3. Finally feel like what you do for a living is the perfect thing for you to do. 4. When I'm talking about Supernatural and the actors and the person I talk to just lets me be passionate about it and smiles and asks questions. 5. When people remember something you once said and turn it into a gift. 6. Just being all like WHOA THIS EARTH AND OUR BODIES AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS SO AWESOME! I mean we create music and babies and other stuff and it's just mind-blowing!

I've always really loved at some small parties, when my friends and I would just sit in a circle and talk very openly and discuss intimate things about ourselves. One of my favorite things in life at the moment.

Also, the fact that I can just call up my friend and, crying, go, "I need to stay at your place tonight because my brother's downstairs with his friends getting drunk and annoying and I won't be able to sleep with that," and her being like, "Sure." Or like talking to people you're sorta friends with and realizing that they're really nowhere near as monotone as you've made them out to be and enjoying their imperfections. And then getting teary as I read this comments section. Also, stupid girly high school flirting and having him flirt back and then giggling about it with your friends.

So true, my sense of humor is so weird and sarcastic that if I find someone who gets it, and can build upon something I said and use it against me, I will be overwhelmed with joy, I'll probably end up marrying them, a witty conversation is the ultimate foreplay.

one of my absolute favorite feelings is when I meet someone and they begin to talk about something theyre passionate about and they go to this different place and their eyes light up and the ramble on about details upon details about the thing theyre passionate of. I love hearing it even if its nothing some I'm particularly interested in because I learn more about it and see how happy it makes them as they bubble up using their hands to describe what theyre talking about.

Many of these are also my favorite feelings. Another one: when you get to make someone you like a lot laugh. I love that. Also: when you and other people have been working towards something you all care about and you finally succeed and you're all like "YES" and get to be victorious together. That is also the best. Oh, and of course: coming home after a long day and seeing a new Vlogbrothers video has been uploaded. Hard to beat that feeling. :)
@Chouetterargentee
@Chouetterargentee 9 жыл бұрын
I thought of a couple more. Hank mentioned figuring things out. Similar but slightly different/more specific: the moment when you finally understand something that has never quite made sense before. Like, the heart-racing OH MY GOD I GET IT moment? That happens in math class maybe? If you are exhausted by being social, the feeling of utter relief at being alone again. That feeling when music, er, swoops? ??? Being accepted, especially if it's something you've not been accepted for before.

One of my favorite feelings is having a deep meaningful talk with someone you like being with, just telling them those thoughts that had been stuck in your head for the last few days and you thought no one would ever know, plus the feeling of knowing that they understand you, or at least that they really listen to you, and they open up as well. I just came back from having one of those and it feels great. I wish I could have this more often, I don't wanna forget how it feels, but i guess the fact that this talks are so uncommon, is what makes them this great.

-learning stuff? like that moment when you something you've been trying to understand finally clicks in your mind and the clouds part and the angels sing and you just go "yes, yes everything makes sense!" -teaching someone something and them understanding it, it's so beautiful like I've chipped away at your towering mountain of ignorance! -laughing so hard with someone you love at something so funny it makes your abs hurt and you've stopped making noise and now you're laughing at each other. -feeling like you're apart of something important to you (* cough cough * fandoms) -doing really well on something you were afraid of messing up like an exam or a competition -winning an argument but leaving on good terms -relating perfectly to a character and my favorite: -someone complimenting you on something you have worked hard on and are proud of. It's the best.

I love the feeling when you're arguing with someone on the Internet, and it looks like they're going to start swearing at you and leave, but then you come to an agreement and end the conversation on good terms. Writing a song, and you finally get it right and finish it, and then you play it, and it's just so ugh yes. Singing your heart out when no one's home. When something goes right in a book and just feel so happy for the character. After you move, going back home to visit friends, it's so wonderful. When boating, being at the very front with the wind in your face, where you can barely hear anything, but it feels like you're on top of the world. Dancing to your jam. Getting 100% on the state test and it's like heck yeah. Getting cozy in your bed for some great movies. Being part of swim thing so big and awesome and fun and you feel like nothing else matters. (I'm looking at you LeakyCon.) Feeling confident and strutting your stuff.

My favourites of Hank's ideas are -Figuring out a complicated thing like a real life problem or something in a book (or even a hard physics question that i've been trying to solve) -That moment when you realize that you can now do something very easily that a year ago would have been unthinkably difficult -When you read a book and all the plot threads come together magically -Taking a hot shower in the winter -Doing something scary and having it go really well -Being with friends who accept you and you get along great -Learning cool things to better understand the world

Finding people that accept you for exactly who you are. I am always myself and people sometimes hate that I refuse to takes sides or that I am so confident in being exactly who I am, but when people actually come out and say "You're just an awesome person" not just validating in their actions, but actually their words that they think you're great for just embracing who you are. I also appreciate and say to other people who are comfortable in their skin how inspiring they are for me to keep being me.

When you’re in an orchestra and you’ve just finished a piece and the violins still have their bows in the air and everyone’s watching the conductor who hasn’t put his arms down yet and there’s just this faint ringing from the last note between the music before and the applause after. One of my favorite feelings is watching people open up a gift that I made specifically for them. I love giving gifts and seeing people open them. And on the flipside of that, getting a present that someone made or put a lot of work into just for me, since then its kind of like, you must really like me to put that much work into it, and it just makes me want to give back to them and spend more time with them. reconnecting with old friends. Laying in a hammock with nothing to do but read a book and maybe have a beer.

When you honestly, really help someone. When you see they're broken and you fix them and you enjoy it. When you push the right buttons because somehow you know what to do. And it works. And you feel like you can fly. When someone tries to hurt you and for once you have strength to be kind. When you don't do it to spite them, or to circumvent their assault by doing something unexpected. When you do it because you a strong right now and you are OK right now and you have the time. And you do it because you can.

In all honesty, the first thing that comes to mind when I think about a favorite feeling has gotta be: - Falling in love with someone in a book... I may be a hopeless romantic in the fictional world, but the feeling when a really good part of a novel when you just start to really fall in love with that character and can't stop thinking about them is just... mm :) and also sometimes depressing... - When you have a friend that understands your references to the fandom you're in (marvel films and books etc) These are what comes to mind uncontrollably first thing, but when I think about it the most that makes me happy i guess, is: - When I really make my Mother proud

I AGREE! I love finding a fictional character to fall in love with. It may sound a bit unhealthy to some but no shame coming from this game. It is why I prefer TV shows to movies. If you love a character there is a lot more to watch! :) I am 31 and the way it makes me feel takes me back to my teenage years. It's definitely a very bittersweet feeling but I enjoy it.

the bad people thing is so very true. There was a girl who bullied and harassed me and one of my best friends to the point of almost ruining both of our lives. I hate her in a way I don't think I have ever hated someone before. But now that we're adults her life is falling apart and she's becoming more crazy and vicious and that small nasty part of me thinks she got what was coming to her, but mostly I just feel bad. Like, it's sad to see someone else have a terrible life, even if in some ways they deserve it. That's my message to younger nerdfighters who have bullies and wish bad things on those bullies. Those people might get what's coming to them and be miserable, but it won't make you feel better and it won't make what happened to you go away.

NotTotallyHopeless I think part the reason it feels awful is it's not like the person has learned anything. If the person who hurt you realized their mistakes and tried to be a better person that might feel ok. You might feel better about your past and hate her a little less. Nothing could undo what happened, but when a person admits their mistakes it can help heal the people they've hurt. It gives closure, if nothing else. As it is she made you feel bad and now she feels bad. No one is better off. Suffering is never a good thing.

So, in the spirit of that... opiates feel pretty good, unfortunately. That's not the main feeling I'm referring to though. I've been in recovery for two years, and that's a good feeling. There are moments of perfection, they last very briefly, and perhaps that's why they feel so special, but there are these rare moments when your body doesn't hurt at all and there are no deadlines in your immediate future and nothing unpleasant is imminent and the air feels warm and the sun caresses your skin and there is maybe a tiniest breeze and just for a few seconds - life is frozen in perfection. I love that feeling.

The smell of the rain when it hasn't rained for a while makes me SUPER happy. Oh oh oh, and the smell of crayons too. I've been known to sniff school supplies from time to time....And I don't know if this is going to be creepy, but have you ever just watched a guy with his baby daughter or sister or neice? Like, I don't know if it's sexist or I don't know but like big strong guys with tiny baby girls like just being adorable at parks. Just, all the >.

LittleLionFlower Rain/water doesn't smell - it just increases your ability to smell the things around you (which means no farts in a shower - trust me). Also I love the smell of school supplies, new books, whiteboard markers, and crayons are really good. Some psychologist say that the reason seeing a man with a baby/child is so sexy has something to do with looking for a perfect partner/someone who will help protect/look after a family. Because you shared I will share that I love finally being brave enough to conquer a fear or at least confront it. I also love when you find a good part of a book that completely defines a character and just makes them better to you. Happy Monday

LittleLionFlower yo man totally not sexist to enjoy seeing big strong guys being adorable with tiny baby girls!! i think that's a great thing to enjoy because it's definitely going against what is expected of big strong men and stuff and enjoying it is being accepting of people going against the standards set for men (like of "oh we gotta be so tough and not be sappy or love anything and break stuff" (a bit exaggerated there, but you get it)(yes i just double parenthesized)) and i think it's beautiful too (also little children playing with people always extremely adorable pshh)

One of my favourite feelings is that brief moment after you've finished creating something, whether for yourself or someone else, and whether or not you put it out into the world or keep it for yourself, and also maybe more importantly whether it works or falls apart horribly right after you've made it nothing can take away that brief moment of ecstasy that I feel when either my hands or my mind have utilized all of the skills I've spent days or weeks or years honing all culminating in something new. It's perfect and i love it, and once you have it you always want it which is even better. =)

Now i think about it, maybe its hard to tell people what makes you happy because it makes it easy for them to hurt you. My feelings would be hurt far more by someone saying i cooked something poorly than them calling me fat or bald or whatever

I get this, all of it. Right now we are working to teach our children to not make rude comments about a meal, even if they don't like it. I cook for them because I love them, and one of the biggest ways I show love is by feeding people. I think this is true of anyone who enjoys cooking. And to say to that person "I hate this thing you made for me" is like saying "I don't care about you or your efforts", and that is incredibly hurtful.

When you have a friend that you're ridiculously close to, and can *be* ridiculously close to without having to be romantic. You'd feel comfortable telling them anything, and you know that they like and appreciate you, and it feels so great to be around them because you always have so much fun and always feel so happy. Also when your dog comes up to you wanting nothing more than love, and you hug them and pet them, and their face is like "YES THANK YOU HUMAN I LOVE YOU" and the world is happy.

Fresh towels out of the dryer. Decluttering a space. Removing toxic people/things (obviously not like, radioactive, but like drama and all that) from your life and the weight that lifts from your shoulders with it. Getting a *really* good hug when you really need it. When my son is struggling with something and then gets it. That moment that you can see the connection made in his little mind and he solves the problem is just so good. Basically most things involving him are the best feelings for me, though.

I love the feeling of taking a fresh baked loaf of bread out of the oven. Yeah, it's because I worked on that loaf. However, there's just something about baking that feels like magic (technically, it's chemistry). Anyway, when you cook something what you start with and what you end with can look pretty similar. When you bake, you take a bunch of powders, crystals, liquids and semi-solids and end up transforming them into bread. There's nothing like it.

Things I 100% agree about: * Figuring out a complicated thing? YES. * Getting better at stuff: Heck yeah. * A respected person respecting me? BEST. Absolute best. * Plot threads --> tapestry? It's basically a braingasm! * Learning things? Delicious. Other feelings I love (all of which are pretty rare, at least for me): * Seeing a formerly bad person show concretely that he's become a better person * Great hugs that I know are sincere and heartfelt (but random hugs? meh.) * Finishing a major project (writing, drawing, whatever) and knowing I did a good job * Laughing a lot, especially with someone else * Being able to help someone with something that's really a problem for them * When physical things that weren't specifically designed to fit together (or in a space together, or whatever) fit just right * Probably lots more if I think hard enough, but that's enough for now. :-)
