The best compliment i could give this man is at 70+ years young he can sing everything in the catalog, Paul Stanley, Ozzy have tempered their set lists cause these great frontmen are getting on in life & simply can’t reach where they once did. He still can, sobered up a long time ago & we are all better for it, He didn’t call himself the “ Metal God “ the industry did. He is one of the baddest frontmen to ever grab a mic! I like "Painkiller" A LOT, but I think there are better Judas Priest songs that showcase Rob Halford's vocal range and the musicianship of the rest of the band better, like "Hard As Iron", "Blood Red Skies" "A Touch of Evil", "Victim of Changes", "Out In the Cold", "Desert Plains", "Metal Gods" and "Devil's Child". "Painkiller" is kinda the song you have to ease into after hearing a lot of Priest, IMO.

In the late 80s, Judas Priest went to trial over a lyric that allegedly caused a young fan to commit suicide. It was a year of bad press, and court dates, and finger pointing that resulted in producing the aggression for the painkiller album.

Yes, and the decision was that there were words present when played backwards, but accidentally due to various sounds mixing together, such as cymbal noise. In the court the band itself presented accidental words that could be found when the record was played backwards. One of the lines was "I asked for peppermint cola". The documentary film made about it might be available somewhere.

Just saw Judas Priest last year. Rob Halford spit fire and cracked the sky just like he did in 1990. Priest sent a message with this album and it punched everyone right in the mouth.

Man what an awesome and fun way to wrap up a good practice :) I had never given those trills enough attention excellent catch. Dunno what to do with them, but it's a nice thing to add to the toolkit for a rainy day

Just watched your Pearl Jam black critique. That song moves me every time. I’ve always want to be able to scream out my soul like that. I would pay anything to learn. Just amazing

I pressed like, but I had to sit this one out. The flashing lights in the video can make me have a seizure. I have mild brain damage from an I.E.D. in Afghanistan. A gift from the Taliban. Still big hugs and huge hugs from across the pond. Beautiful lady!! As always take care and be safe!!!! (#Sugar Tots)!!! A.K.A., Rick!!!

The guitar solo in this song is hands down, by far one of the most iconic of all time. Not very many guitar solo’s hit someone in the “feels” as hard as this one
