This was one of her 1st attempts at this difficult song when she was 9 yo. Eight years later, at 17, she sang it at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert with the KORK Orchestra &, in my opinion, she created the new "Gold Standard" for this classic song, even surpassing the famous Bobby Hatfield version of the Righteous Brothers. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 Her version at 17 at the Nobel Peace Prize event was by far her best version. The live versions at her last three concerts are also very good. She is only 9 here. If there is another 9 year old who could do this better, I would like to know who they are so I can listen to them. Angelina was born to sing for sure. It was God's gift to her. She gave an interview just prior to singing this song that is well worth seeing about why she sings barefoot. I really like the version she sang at her New Hampshire concert where she slowed it way down. If you review the Nobel performance, please do the version on James Thiel's site which has the background story as well as the actual performance.

She is 9 here. I hope that you and your family remain safe. I think Angie did some experimenting on this particular song. From age 8 to 9 was not her best time in my opinion. Age 8 was fantastic and age 10-13 was phenomenal. Nice reaction, as usual.

This was possibly one of her earliest attempts at this song at 9 yo (I think there are a couple when she was younger), I feel that she spent these years (7,8,9) perfecting her vocals with songs like this and by 10 was really hitting her straps, she continued to perfect this song until it is now a staple of her concerts. She always knew what she wanted to achieve with this song and just needed time and practice to fulfill her vision for the song.

Perhaps your fan was asking for the one done almost ten years later? This performance is just OK, particularly for a 9 years old, but will not knock your socks off (American expression meaning absolutely fantastic). But, listening to this one and then the new one will be good to see her progress. What most reactors miss is that in the new one, Angelina is singing to the two 17-year-old children, in front of her, of the Peace Prize award winner who is in Iranian prison for her outspoken treatment of women by the government. And, Angelina's grandmother, who she loves dearly and was mostly responsible for Angelina's love and understanding of jazz, is Iranian. Also, Angelina has lived (shortly) in Iran and, at that early age, spoke Farsi, So, choosing to sing this song is very personal, and you can hear it.

I compare Angelina to Messi the footballer people always compare him to Ronaldo and I say Messi is a natural talent and Ronaldo is not both of course need to continue to work hard and train in order to maintain their fitness like Angelina but on the field/stage you can't compare Those who received a gift from God and those who worked hard to get there because the gift from God is somewhere else.
