Taylor's voice is exceptionally good at what it's supposed to be good at; emotional honesty, and an earnest down-to-earth warmth. Her voice kind of reminds me of IU's; both artists are very good at conveying the best of their emotional depth and using their vocal ability to show off their absolute lyrical/musical prowess. Perhaps to those who value belting and overtly powerful voices, their voices won't seem brilliant-but they contain a lightness that a lot of people can find peace, relatability and consolation in.

@@deniseclements6510 Ariana's vocals are absolutely out of this world (I think my favourites are still when she's more stripped back, like some versions of 'Into You' or 'ghostin'), but honestly I don't think that her voice or vocal type should be the standard for what a Good Voice™ is; I think there's a very different, but very equal beauty in softer or warmer voices-with voices that don't reach so much into the stratosphere-put them to the right song and there's still magic created (like with Mazzy Star's 'Fade Into You', Tracy Chapman's 'Fast Car' or Meaningful Stone's 'A Call From My Dream')

I always say this to people that leave hate comments about her. I've been a Taylor fan since 2008 but all I want from people is to just appreciate that she's talented. You don't need to like her music. But don't deny that she's an exceptional song writer.
@Becksnnc4 жыл бұрын
@Nicky Iannis She IS talented though. It's not even up for debate. You don't have to enjoy the talent. It's like seeing the Mona Lisa and saying "This painting is rubbish." It's okay to not like the end product but the work that's gone into it isn't just by luck. Talent has gone into making it which makes it a work of art and therefore talent of the creator. This is my point. You don't like her music that's fine. It's your opinion, your taste but you said yourself that you still appreciate her songwriting and how she performs. You recognise that she's good at it which is all I want people to do. Just respect an artist for what they do instead of blindly hating. Your comment wasnt hate and I wasn't directing it at you. Don't know why youre telling me to grow up. I was agreeing with you lol

@Nicky Iannis Yes but Regardless of personal taste she can sing and she can write a song, her song writing to me as a fellow songwriter is incredible you might not think that it's good but at the end of the day she CAN write a song and she CAN carry a tune, your personal opinion and taste might not be what you want to listen to (I don't know why your watching this is that's the case) but it doesn't negate from the fact she's talented and can and does those things... If someone says I HATE HER VOICE AND WRITING doesn't mean she can't sing or write, so saying I don't like this personally is fine... but people saying she's talentless are just lying to themselves.

@Eric_The_Eccentric4 жыл бұрын
I think the reason why people say she can't sing is because of this. Most music enthusiasts have a singer as their favorite because of the strong vocals and the ability to hit high notes effortlessly. There's nothing wrong with that. I gotta admit, Taylor doesn't have the strongest vocals. So, when people see someone like Taylor overshadowing other artists in the music industry who are more superior in terms of vocals, people feel that she's just way too overrated. So, it kinda sucks but mainly they're just in denial or showing their bias by being petty. But if you're one of those skeptics, I just wanna say, Taylor knows what her weaknesses are. But she worked on them over the years and now she's at the top of the game in every aspect. The results are there for all to see. Besides, her songwriting ability is far more superior than most artists out there. She puts her heart and soul in everything she does. No half-hearted attempts. Song lyrics, MVs, live performances, her efforts to make each album sound different, even the way she interacts with her fans etc, all of these combined with her conviction to improve, make her one of the greatest artists of all time, if not the best. Go Taylor! 😇😇 Edit: Playing it safe and sticking to what you're naturally good at should never be an option if you wanna make it big. Pushing yourself to outdo your own self is one of the biggest achievements you can have on top of your other accomplishments. Otherwise you've set yourself up for failure and soon enough you will be forgotten. For us, MUSIC IS A PART OF OUR LIVES. But for artists like Taylor, MUSIC IS THEIR LIFE. Let's give credits where credit is due. Period.
@ElkahJones4 жыл бұрын
ARTISTS are not just SINGERS, That's what people don't understand... Artists create from melodies and writing to visuals and that's why people love them, If someone just stood there and sang it would get boring real fast, but singing something they have wrote and created brings a whole new dimension, that's why Adele is so popular. 90% of the greats/legends created their own art and music, POP fads come and go thought... been the same throughout history.

The way she not only creates a story in this song but interweaves her songs and the little tonal and mood shifts, the language, the way they all pick up on each other... perfection
@courtneylynn25254 жыл бұрын
I love watching your singing reactions because you dont just focus on the technical parts of it you also appreciate the emotion behind the singers approach. It's nice because I feel people need to realize good singing isnt just belting Ariana/Mariah style.

I think that Taylor is an underrated lyricist. Not only is she an amazing artist, but paying attention to the lyrics, especially in folklore, they evoke such emotion and paint a beautiful picture. **chef’s kiss**

So this song is super nostalgic for anyone who has followed Taylor for her whole career, and I think it really represents a full-circle moment for her. I remember listening to her when I was like 14 and hearing Our Song and Love Story and all those country hits, and Betty in particular is like a little return to her country roots. But she has so much more skill and vocal capability now, so it’s a grown up Taylor singing a song that’s kind of reminiscent of her past almost. It’s great, I’m so glad you reacted to this 🤗
@emmapoorman37364 жыл бұрын
i’m so glad you mentioned the country aspect - taylor wrote this song to sound country-like because the voice is a teenager, and that’s how she would write as a teenager. so intelligent. taylor blows me away❤️❤️❤️❤️

absolutely! but when you have a my tears ricochet or peace which is in lower notes and a shake it off or an i dont wanna live forever from the same artist, we can conclude she has a pretty good range. is it the best? probably not, but her songs work in her voice with her lyrics adding more flavour.

This is the power, taylor swift holds. She made Tristan go back to his college days reminiscing listening to indie artists with his friends. Even though what she sings has nothing to do with those memories.

It's not "LIKE" telling a story...she IS TELLING not one but a whole bunch of stories. She always has and that's what people love her for. Her fans are not into her being popular or getting number ones on her songs on different charts. We go to her music to deal with situations in our life that she explains so beautifully in her music, from the very beginning. Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Lover, all of them are consistent......she's been doing the same thing for over years but with different phases in her life, we have different stories, helping her fans cope with situations, talking about her life experiences. We fall in love with her love songs, breakup songs, diss tracks all the same 'cos she talks about the real things, walking in rain, falling for a guy in high school, day dreaming, fighting haters, finding out about a bf who cheats and then breaking up with him. It's all real AF. She is definitely one of the most talented song writers for sure!!!!
