You could also record 3 different vocals (original/octave high/octave low) and do the same thing you did to all of them and then adjust the gain. That should make it even more realistic.

I was searching a tutorial for that for ages. THANKS A LOT!!!

Genius! Simple audio track vocoded with a crowd sample. Throw on some big reverb and you're gold. Wish I'd thought of that. Thanks for the tip.
@Kraedt9 жыл бұрын
That's pretty awesome, actually, but I think you could have done a couple things to make it sound better and more "realistic". What you could have easily done to make the crowd sound mesh in more is played the original crowd sound without any effects on another audio track, but a lot more quiet. It would give a sense that the crowd is alive, some people singing the part and others just yelling. And the other thing is, the reverb you used on the crowd sound is very artificial-sounding (I'm gonna go on a limb and say that the reverb's "room size" is way too small for the amount of people in the fake crowd, based on what the fake crowd sound's like). Perhaps even using my first suggestion would have negated the need to used a better / larger reverb because it all would have blended in better.

Kraedt Was gunna say the same thing :P so instead I'll just thumb up your comment

I was also thinking doing something about the un-crowd-like perfect timing might further improve this great idea. as in making the various crowd parts all slightly out of time with each other and stretching and squashing little parts.
@KingofHearts4 жыл бұрын
Great tip! I also find that going into EQs for the different layers and spiking certain frequencies down will give ‘separation’ in the chorus effects.

@ForTiorIJohnny8 жыл бұрын
cool trick. i think instead of a vocoder you could also load the crow sample into a convolution plugin. so use it as a reverb impulse. i tried that using different samples before with interesting results.

Very timely video for me. I very recently had a tune that ended up needing a large group vocal part, but i have only one singer. I'd put it on the back burner for now, till I'd researched different ideas for how to do that. This is an excellent creative solution. Right on David, keep on rocking.

Great trick! In isolation it doesn't sound that great but it fits wonderfully in the mix. Did you do any volume automation on the stadium tracks and the lead vocal to make it fit together? Sounds to me that the lead vocal is ducked somewhat when the stadium sound is playing.
