The Protestant guy said at the beginning of the video that he did everything in his power to disprove what his Catholic friend said about the canon. That shows that he didn’t search for the truth but rather whatever would fit his bias. He discredited the entire video from the beginning. Great job Alex with bringing out facts and actual history.

Its sad how Protestants pervert the holy scripture and how they are taught like soldiers certain scripture to go to war with the Catholic church. We aren't taught to weaponize the bible like that, and I can say how blessed I am that I was raised Catholic. However I did fall away, and when I came back to the faith I listened to Protestants which all said something differently, it threw me into confusion until the holy spirit guided me to the one true holy apostolic church.

@@brandonedwards1181 We fight against the false doctrines were they are. All false doctrines have been identified for years and proper interpretation of scriptures has gotten leaps and bounds better over the years . The Churches with false doctrines teach changed meaning of scriptures to cover for the false doctrine like a Cult does, making it difficult for those defending the false doctrine to see the truth. The false doctrines take many Christians to hell by slow separation from God.

@@dennisandretuestaflores448 Definitely not the Catholic Church. It has 95 false doctrines. I look for Churches that have zero false doctrine. But the Church Jesus is talking about is all Christians of any Denomination around the world from his time to now. Peter said we all are living Petros. He was the first. "3 things our protestant friends will not have without the catholic church" 1: The sacred scripture 2: The doctrine of trinity 3: The doctrine of Hypostatic union short canon history The Bible is a Catholic book. The Magisterium of the Church has the authority to determine the Bible canon. In AD -382 Pope Damasus-I At the First Council of Rome, the first complete canon was promulgated ... All 73 books (46 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament) are included in today's Bible. Pope Damasus declared that not a book should be added to this canon, nor should a book be taken away from it. Council of Hippo (AD - 393) Reaffirmed (state again strongly) 73 books in the Bible. Council of Carthage - Reaffimed the declarations of the Council of Rome in AD - 382 and the Council of Hippo in AD -393. In AD - 419 the 4th Council of Carthage confirmed all the decisions of the 3rd Council of Carthage. The Council of Florence (AD - 1442) reaffirmed the canon. Council of Trent AD-1546 Reaffirmed the canon. St. Jerome's Bible (Latin Vulgate) is officially announced once again. The Purpose of the Council was to counter the false doctrines caused by Protestant heresies. *British Bible society* and Robert Haldane (not Calvin or Zwingli or Luther) was responsible for removing 7 books from the Protestant Bible. Under Haldane's leadership, in 1821, a movement began against the British Bible Society demanding that funds not be given to Bible societies that were printing the Deutero Canon. The resolution was passed in 1822, which means that it has been only 200 years since Protestant churches started using the 66-book Bible. In the Heidelberg Disputation (AD1518) and Theses - 17 and 35, Luther quotes from the book of wisdom, Sirach ( Deutero Canon) for his arguments. Martin Luther debated with Catholic theologian Johann Eck in AD-1519 about the doctrine of purgatory... Luther's Arguments are Debunked... With that moment Luther took a stand the book of Maccabees was not part of the Canon ... (Jewish Canon was Right) Luther who rejected the canon of Septuagint rejected classified Epistle to the Hebrews(as it teaches about the priesthood -Hebrew 13:17), James( as it teaches that there is a reward for man's good works, James 2:24) , Jude, 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, and the Revelation of John as disputed( The Book of Revelation It is not useful to understand Christ, it does not have the work of the Holy Spirit). The question is But why are these books still included in Protestant Bibles? Some Protestants argue that the Catholic Church established the canon at the Council of Trent. !!! So how did the Deuterocanon appear in Martin Luther's and other Protestant Bibles? Doesn't it sound strange...!!! Huldrch Zwingli published the Bible in German in 1531, Martin Luther in 1534(German), and John Calvin in 1560 (English)All these included 73 books. In AD -1611 the king James version of the Bible was released ... and it had 73 books. The 7 books of the Old Testament were included under the name Deuterocanon....Interestingly, many references were used from these for the New Testament. After AD-1885 the Deutero Canon books were removed from king James Bible... Gutenberg Bible www.gutenbergdigital.de/gudi/eframes/index.html Luther Bible 1535 archive.org/download/lutherbibel1535 Geneva Bible of 1560 Edition: archive.org/details/TheGenevaBible1560 King James Bible of 1611 Edition: www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1661-Bible/ God bless you brother❤❤❤

Protestants would have the doctrine of the Trinity even if they incoherently hold to an incomplete canon. There were Trinitarians solely on the basis of scripture before the Council of Nicaea. Just because a statement was more clearly defined to address the false teachings of heretics does not mean the doctrine developed on that day. This is not an argument for sola scriptura, which is false, but just highlighting the reality of what took place long ago.

Another canon argument that I’ve become interested in is how undecided it was all the way up to its solemn dogmatizing at Trent. While yes we have many regional councils and even ecumenical councils prior to Trent that corroborate the Catholic canon, we can still see disputes over certain books through history even with cardinal Cajetan in the 16th century. This indicates that the canon was not so big an issue for most Christians that the church had to define it, because they had the church to teach sound doctrine. If Sola Scriptura was the paradigm, we should expect to see the canonizing of scripture far earlier in history and far more solemnly, but we don’t.

What does the selling of indulgences have to do with how the bible was put together? His video just went completely anti-catholic bc its not a genuine video about the bible. You know what I think is so interesting? When we start having the debate with protestants about the bible or authority somehow we always start discussing Luther (whether its protestants or Catholics) as if Luther is their "authority". Seems to me whether protestants like or or not they look to Luther as an authority and if they don't they still have an authority at their church whether its a pastor, elders, a board, etc. So why are only Catholics badgered about authority? 🤔 I would LOVE videos over what each of the counsels taught.

This is why the books of Maccabees should be ignored as inspired is because the author literally tells you he wrote it and it is coming from him. This is why this book should never be used to draw doctrine from like Purgatory. The Compiler’s Epilogue 38 If it is well told and to the point, that is what I myself desired; if it is poorly done and mediocre, that was the best I could do. 39 For just as it is harmful to drink wine alone or, again, to drink water alone, while wine already mixed with water is delicious and enhances one’s enjoyment, so also the style of the story delights the ears of those who read the work. And here will be the end.

With the context of the theses that Martin Luther says, you find that he was referencing the pope when he said, “He who speaks against the truth of apostolic pardons, let him be anathema and accursed!”. Thus, Martin Luther did not say that he accepted indulgences. If you do not believe me read the theses 68-76 and tell me where he really says that he accepted indulgences as an act of being forgiven, and where he really says that they will be accursed.

i feel like i'm the only one reads apocrypha. the reason they got ditched was because of self sacrifice and putting on the armor of G-d. those 7 brothers that married the same girl got chopped up to pieces with their mom in the Maccabees. the Jews went Greek with Alexander the great. instead of trusting G-d and fighting Alexander, they jacked all the temple gold and made a huge golden shield got on their knees and bellies, crawled to the Romans, licked their toes and asked the Romans to get rid of the Greeks. when the war was over they had to pay taxes for the war. Give to CEASER what belongs to ceaser !!!

@@davidjaramillo8282 It is something to laugh at as there is light in every religion but the fullness in truth is on the Jesus and the church. What is really laughable is when you ask a conservative Christian one simple question. Whenever they mention the church, or Bibles need to be in school I ask the following: Which church? Which Bible? I get different answers to the first one all the time and fewer answers to the second one. That is what is really laughable.

Circular reasoning: the Books of the Bible are inspired and so is the CC which tells us which ones are inspired, therefore the 66 + 7 are inspired.

I'd also like to point out the fact that the Protestant guy fails to mention why he clings to the 66 book canon. If it's for the 4 points he mentioned, then those are horrible reasons. Plus, he never mentions by whose authority Martin Luther had to classify the Deuterocanon as the "Apocrypha", nor why we should accept his opinion on his canon of Scripture. The 4 points he mentioned aren't exactly an explanation on why we ought to accept the 66 book canon. Overall, great response vid on your part Alex

Voice, you correctly stated that the extra 7 'books' are from the OT time. The OT is the Jewish Book and they have not added them. Why? Correction: the 66 Books of our Bible are FAR older thank 200 years. 37 of them are much older than 2000 years old. The 27 of the NT are over 1900 years.

Hi Alexander, one doubt. Yesterday I was listening to a debate between a Catholic Christian and a Muslim. The Muslim said that the history of the women rescued by Jesus in the Gospel of John(The women that the jews wanted to throw Stones), was actually introduced in the Gospel Centuries before the Gospel itself. Doing the research actually a lot of experts in history say the same thing that the Muslim said. The question is, How can we now that other stories are introduced on the Bible to make It more beautiful? Im a Catholic Christian and dont know How to respond to that argument. Thanks for listening. God bless

The history isn’t quite clear. However it’s a bit of a stretch to say the story was added. The most agreed upon theory is that the story was originally in the gospel of Luke. But the early Church feared that people would get the wrong idea and believe that God doesn’t take sin seriously so they removed it. But later changing their minds as they later came to believe it communicates something beautiful about Gods mercy, so they re-inserted it back into the gospel of John. Why didn’t they put it back into Luke? I don’t know, that’s up for debate. But to say the story was just added to make it seem nicer is a bit of a stretch.

However, even if it was inserted, it wouldn’t prove the event never happened or that it’s not divinely inspired. So even if it’s proven that the story was inserted, it wouldn’t be an issue at all for Christians. My Bible (NABRE) has the following footnote: “The story of the woman caught in adultery is a later insertion here, missing from all early Greek manuscripts. A Western text-type insertion, attested mainly in Old Latin translations, it is found in different places in different manuscripts: here, or after Jn 7:36 or at the end of this gospel, or after Lk 21:38, or at the end of that gospel. There are many non-Johannine features in the language, and there are also many doubtful readings within the passage. The style and motifs are similar to those of Luke, and it fits better with the general situation at the end of Lk 21, but it was probably inserted here because of the allusion to Jer 17:13 (cf. note on Jn 8:6) and the statement, "I do not judge anyone," in Jn 8:15. The Catholic Church accepts this passage as canonical scripture.“ The NABRE is a Bible that has been approved by the Catholic Church, so if they can comfortably say “it’s likely this passage was a later addition” without that being at all in anyway a threat to our faith, I don’t see why we can’t do so as well.

The problem that I struggle with is that if the Apocrypha is scripture, then it should not have any errors, just a couple of examples: 1: It condones the use of magic Tobit 6:5-7 2: There are historical errors a) Judith 1:5 incorrectly says that Nebuchadnezzar was the king of the Assyrians when he was the king of the Babylonians. b) Baruch 6:2 says the Jews would serve in Babylon for seven generations where Jeremiah 25:11 says it was for 70 years. “And this whole land shall be a desolation and a horror, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years." There are other examples that I struggle to comprehend including money as an offering for the sins of the dead which is clearly not biblical. How can we say that something is inspired if there are errors, and we are not talking about grammatical errors 🧐 Dont think that I am not open to learning nor do I see you as my enemy, for God is your Father just as God is my Father, so we are brothers, and that is how I try to view my Catholic and Orthodox friends.

You think because Judith says to save fish liver and heart because it's medicine is some sort of witch craft? Have you read Numbers 5? That sounds way more like witchcraft! Do you not realize how nutritious fish liver is? Nutrition is medicine. I paste some nutrition info down below. The bible is full of contradictions. Just check it out in any atheist site. The bible IS written by men. Protestants act like the bible is written by God, it's not. Though, it is inspired. The bible even talks about money used charitably covers sin. Love covers sin. I'll post Scriptures later if you want. --- Fish liver is a rich source of many nutrients, including vitamins A and D, omega-3 fatty acids, and other minerals: Vitamin A A fat-soluble vitamin that helps support the immune system, growth, and strong bones, teeth, and eyes. A serving of fish liver contains about 2,000% of the daily value (DV) for vitamin A. Vitamin D Also known as the "sunshine vitamin", vitamin D is important for calcium absorption, reducing inflammation, and boosting mood. A serving of fish liver contains 1,250% of the DV for vitamin D. Fatty fish species have higher levels of vitamin D than partially fatty fish, and lean fish tend to store most of their vitamin D in their livers. Omega-3 fatty acids Studies have shown that people who eat fish regularly have a lower risk of heart disease, which may be linked to the omega-3s found in fish. Cod liver oil is a good source of omega-3s.

Could you explain the magic in Tobit 6:5-7? Jesus used clay to heal a blind man, so I do not see how the organs of the fish could not be given healing powers by the Angel of God (from the Haydock Bible Commentary). Also, the Bible is not supposed to be a history book. It might have discrepancies but it does not fail to transmit Divine revelation, as the Catholic Church teaches.

By the will of Christ, the Catholic Church is, in fact, mistress of truth: its function is to authentically express and teach the Truth which is Christ [...] the disciple is bound towards Christ Master TO THE DUTY TO KNOW EVER MORE FULLY THE TRUTH THAT HE RECEIVED FROM HIM, to announce it faithfully and to defend it energetically while refraining from any means contrary to the Spirit of the Gospel. Another false position of the Protestant is to assume that because the deuterocanon is not found written in the Hebrew language, then it follows that it was therefore not among the ancient Jews… But you see, the Dead Sea Scrolls confirm Deuterocanon books in the Hebrew language and the later Masoretic Text “disappeared” them. Because the Jews did not have a list of books among them. They rejected their King. No central authority = lawlessness.
