When we toured North America in the fall of 2023, Anders and Björn from In Flames attended our concert at The Troubadour in Los Angeles. They came backstage before the show to chat with us, and it turned out they were big fans of the band. Quite a surreal experience, given that In Flames have played a huge part in forming our musical DNA. When we came home from tour, we dug deep into recording Friend Of A Phantom, and during that process, we began discussing whether Cannibal would benefit from having guest vocals. We all agreed that having some really powerful screams in there would elevate the song, and having just created a bond with Anders meant that it was the easiest decision in the world to ask him if he wanted to be a part of the track. Anders quickly said yes to participate, and eventually, he both recorded vocals and came to Denmark to shoot the video with us. We feel truly fortunate and are enormously proud of the result. Thanks for tuning in! VOLA

The other day, someone was asking me who my favourite bands are. My answers for the past 10 or so years have always been 'Opeth, Riverside, Pineapple Thief, Haken, Karnivool, Leprous... etc.' For the first time, I added VOLA to that list and I can't believe how quickly they've become part of that list. Absolutely LOVE everything they've put out all the while staying true to their unique sound and getting better and better with each release.

Some cool prog recommendations there. Opeth is incredible, Riverside new stuff still kicks ass. Karnivool never disappoints, Haken doesn't know when to stop releasing bangers, TPT is a new discovery for me with their It Leads To Us album and I liked that and Leprous has one of my all-time favourite Prog Metal albums. Then VOLA, just have stuck as one of my favourite artists to exist

I started working at this doggy daycare 8 years ago, worse mistake I ever made. It ended up being the downfall of my hearing...one boss to the next constantly put me into shitty situations and I ended up losing most of my hearing from a broken walkie talkie...4 years since that incident and my hearing or whats remaining of it is just getting worse and worse. But my god I remember how my hearing was before I worked there...I remember just how goddamn clear and loud and full music and vocals were. I would do anything to go back to those days. Just even some out of body experience where I could beat the shit out of my younger self and take the risk quitting...i would have have rather moved back in with family, moved to a small town, been homeless than be deaf as I am now. I miss music so much. What I can hear though sounds great! i kinda wanna compare to scar symmetry but the reality is over the years I have listened to so so so much and Ive forgotten all the underground greats.
