You know, I've been wishing I could meet some other local performance Volvo enthusiasts. I mostly stumble along the "R" spec learning curve alone. Must be something about these machines that frightens people away? You can read other witness accounts here in these comments. I may start a podcast and shoot a film...

Considering doing this as someone with no mechanical experience to save on 4 hours of labour my garage want to charge me... am I likely to mess up? Seems like accessing screws could be the hardest part

Geez, one of the tightest front bumpers I've seen. How? Most have gaps on the side at the fender, and edge of headlight. I'm trying to get mine as tight but it never works. New side brackets didnt help.. maybe its just bacuse the bumper has warped over the years..

Yeah I did my radiator myself and it really is one of those jobs where you can do yourself but you’ll always wish you had that extra hand.

Made a video on it last year. I just used the HID projectors diy kit and built them myself.

Hi Henrik, Lukas from do88 here! Great video, but I'd just like to clarify that that this is indeed NOT our intercooler. While you do mention this in the video, we'd like to kindly ask you to remove our name from the title, to avoid any confusion. We're flattered that you chose us as the go-to comparison, but quite frankly you'd avoid many of the difficulties in this video by purchasing our V70R intercooler. Feel free to contact us if you'd like to try the real deal! Thanks, Lukas

Hi Lukas, I have now removed your name from the title of the video. I apologize for neglecting to realize the possible confusion this may have caused. I have no doubts that your intercooler is easier to install, however I was just trying to do this on a bit more of a budget. Thanks for watching!

Notice any results without the placebo effect? that piece you mentioned that goes beside the airbox is the TCV...Turbo control valve.
@henrikstjernfeldt73972 жыл бұрын
To be honest not too much yet, aside from slightly more turbo lag lol. I'm hoping I'll feel a bigger difference this summer.
@@edwinthomas618 Thank you! I think it might be because there is more volume for the air to fill.

Great vid, thanks! considering doing the same. What did you pay for the used one if ya don't mind my asking?
@henrikstjernfeldt73972 жыл бұрын
Hey, glad you enjoyed the video! I actually learned recently that it's an old-school IPD intercooler, which I bought for about $250-300. Can't remember exactly but it wasn't too bad.

@@henrikstjernfeldt7397 I just found one with the same story. I paid a little more than you though, good buy! Are you still happy with it? any additional observations or pointers putting it in?

Everyone keeps saying you need a hand installing this. I did my Do88 intercooler and radiator solo, it was easy.

Congrats, I'm just saying I wouldn't mind an extra person helping out.

The help would've been nice, but damn I bet that whole thing was HEAVY.
